It's been almost a year since I last visited 06C, but I always loved the airport and even though I only flew in about 5 times somehow I can still remember the names of a few of the people working there. It looked like they had a pretty active EAA chapter and Pilot Pete's is an excellent restaurant and the prices are very fair. I can't wait until I get a chance to stop by there again.

Really neat airport to stop in. The building was clean and in really good shape... Almost looks brand new. And I think the layout of the building is brilliant. The line guys were really cool and were prompt with the fueling and gave us all the assistance we needed.

I cannot speak highly enough of Northwest Flyers after my recent stop on my way to Oshkosh! I was in to pick up a friend, but my starter died when we were ready to leave. Gene, the Director of Maintenance, quickly moved me into his hangar (despite having a full lineup in there already), diagnosed the problem, and started making phone calls to figure out my options. I got lucky in that a repair shop a few towns over (Addison) had one and would take my core in exchange. Then, Skip, the owner of the FBO, volunteered to drive over & pick it up for me! All-in, I was out of there in about 4 hours for a very reasonable rate. BTW, for those who have dinged them on their gas prices, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore--gas was about the same in Schaumburg as any other field in the NW Suburbs. Gene, Skip: I can't thank you enough for getting me on the road to OSH. I had a great trip, which could easily have fallen apart w/o your help. I'll be back!

Friendly staff and a relatively convenient airport to access the Chicago suburbs. The rating I gave would be higher, but avgas is expensive here compared to most other airports. The $12 nightly tie down fee is waived, however, with a fuel purchase. Pilot Pete's Restaurant on the field is a very good place to eat, and you can look out over the airplanes on the ramp and look out on the runway. Self-serve avgas: The directions say to key in pump "1." You must key in pump "01" or else the pump will not work.

Very clean and nice facilities. Very helpful, rental car was on the Tarmac when I landed. Treated me well even though I was a single engine piston, will go back.

The service and Pilot Pete's are great, and the location to Schaumburg is very handy, but the fuel prices are completely unreasonable. I would like to come back, but it will have to be with full tanks.

I called Northwest Flyers a few weeks before my trip to ask about a rental car. The woman mentioned that I should "call the day before" I fly up there. I asked if it would be better to contact Enterprise directly, and she said no - sometimes they screw up and don't bring the car over. Best to call NW Flyers the day before and just have them arrange it. So I did that. I called NW Flyers, ok, 2 days prior and set up the rental. Sounded like it was good to go. When I arrived, the car wasn't there. They scrambled to get Enterprise to bring a car over. Well, we sat there for almost an hour and a half (not exaggerating) before the car showed up. It wasted a chunk of our one-day trip. Annoying. The folks at NW Flyers were apologetic about it, but the bottom line is our plans got screwed up as a result of their recommended procedure. Anyway, that's a heads-up. If you rent a car there, double check. At least call the morning of your flight to reconfirm!

We found Schaumberg to be a very reasonable choice for getting to destinations near the Loop (downtown Chicago). It's a ways out, but there is a Metra (commuter rail) station close by, and the folks at Northwest Flyers will drop you off and pick you up if they have anybody free. If not, a taxi takes just a few minutes and costs just a few bucks. A comfortable 50-minute ride on the Metra train takes you to Union Station in the Loop. All in all it's a bit less convenient than Midway, but a whole lot less expensive.

Price on self service pump is written at $4.50 / gallon and the bill was actually $4.65 / gallon.

Always love to visit this place... Call ahead and Betty and the girls will give you fantastic service. Pilot Pete's upstairs is great or suggest Lalo's Mexican restaurant a few miles northeast. The best restaurant and the best FBO service around. Tell Betty Dave sent you.

Love this place. The food is great upstairs. As far as all the radio chatter, I prefer it, especially knowing there is a flight school there. I like to know where all the students are.

Nice Airport, Very Nice Facilities & Friendly People. Fuel is Very Expensive. There is way too much radio chatter on CTAF. FBO called 5 times while in the landing pattern with multiple aircraft wanting to know how long I was going to stay. It sounded like a CB radio with all of the "Radio Checks" and unnecessary garble.

Great Service! Didn't need to buy fuel, they were still very friendly and went out of there way to take care of our needs. Pilot Pete's was a bonus, great food, good portions and good prices. 06C will be my Chicago "home" for whenever I need to go back to the windy city!
