Did some flight training in a Robinson R44 helicopter and the self serve pumps were a blessing to get fuel at all hours. Just watch the tumble weeds!

Had to divert here due to severe overheating on my no. 3 cylinder. Note: Flightguide is wrong when they say 2 local hotels will pick you up from the airport. After tying down the a/c, we decided to walk the 4 miles to town. While trying to find our way out of the airport in the pitch dark, we stumbled upon 3 cop cars on the edge of the field. Turned out to be the home of the local captain, who gave us a lift into town. Met up with Rick at Sundance the next morning. There were no A&Ps on the field, and he saved me a fortune by not having to call one in from Albuquerque on a weekend. He lent us some wrenches, and as suspected we found a chunk of dirt in the fuel injector, and were our way in minutes.

Stopped in on the 13th of July 2005. Self-serve worked as advertised, although no one was around at 0700. None the less, it was a good stop for a quick turn around if you arrive after hours.
