No Fuel Available at Corning for some time, plenty available nearby but don't make the mistake I did and try to stretch your fuel to Corning. We stopped there 3-30-2008 for fuel and ended buying three gallons out of a gas can for $20, which we were glad to pay to make it back to Haigh for a fill-up.

Stopped by Corning on 4-22-07 (Sunday.) Fuel truck was parked, but no staff visible. The fuel price wasn't posted. Fortunately we already had plenty of gas. It is a fairly short (1.1-mile) walk into town, with a few restaurants open. A nice gentleman gave us a ride into town, and we had a tasty lunch at the Cozy Cow Cafe.

Climbing out of Corning in my Ximango I heard the dreaded sound of an engine wanting to quit. I went back to the airport. Brian Carpenter of Rainbow Aviation dealt with the fuel contamination problem efficiently and for a very reasonable charge. He balanced another job he had in progress with my 'emergency' - - it's an emergency when you're 350+ air miles from home and on vacation. I was very pleased with all aspects of the service. It's not a place to stop for fuel because of the high price, but everything else about it, especially the people on staff in addition to Brian, were very helpful. The good work allowed me to continue the vacation without missing more than a couple hours.

Fuel trucks on the field and nobody to operate them. Man at the field was very rude. I will would not waste my time stopping there.
