I hadn’t flown into this airport since Nov of 2010. Wow! Tremendous improvements since then!! The new owners have resurfaced and repainted the ramp and runway. Updated lighting is really helpful. New T-hangers next to the ramp are mostly full with happy airplanes and more hangars are under construction. The whole airport has been revitalized. I don't understand why other comments talk about this airport as difficult to fly into. It is used extensively for training student pilots. They don't seem to have any trouble and neither did I. Maybe the comments were written by "flatlanders" who are accustomed to a 2-mile final approach. Flying in WV or any other hilly area will have trees and hills near the flight path. This is NOT a difficult airport to use. I found the downtown Kansas City International airport to be far more daunting with 2000 foot radio towers lining the flight path on final approach.

Great little field to stop for fuel -- great prices, friendly people, and clean restrooms (across the field by the racetrack). A word to the wise -- other comments on here about RWY 25 are a bit understated. Whoever build this airport next to a hill with trees (literally, starting at the threshold) must've had a few screws loose. Bottom line is to use RWY 7 if winds or calm or weather otherwise permits. Use RWY 25 if you want to see what a "non-standard" approach is like, scare your passengers, or prune some trees on short final with your main gear. All in all, an economical stop and a challenge getting in. (It goes without saying that I wouldn't recommend an approach to 25 at night if you're not familiar with this place.)

Stopped for fuel on New Years Eve day. Nobody was around, but fuel was cheap and the pumps worked well.

Stopped in for the inexpensive fuel, and wasn’t disappointed. Nobody at the airport, though there is a race track about 300 yds away. A bit of a challenge gettin in, gotta swoop down over some trees, about 100' agl. Gettin out is even more challenging. I was driving an Arrow, and didn’t top off, just tabs. Only myself and wife on board. It was probably 85°, mid day, but I don't know the DA. Still, the climb out wasn’t meteoric. Beware!

Best gas price I found between DE and KY! A little sparse on personnel, but the self-help pump worked fine. A great, money-saving stop. Thanks.

Really a nice place to visit, cheap fuel, nice people, the approach is a little exciting, but overall a great place to visit.
