Great flight in from KSBY. FBO staff was very helpful. Great diner attached to the FBO (Diner can be busy but be patient....it's worth it). ACY App/Dep very helpful on arrival and departure for VFR flight following. Use clearance delivery before takeoff. Right Traffic for Rwy 24!!

8/1/2010 Friendly staff at FBO. Get the number for the cab if you plan to go into town to eat. The buses do not adhere to the schedule as advertised on the Boardwalk. I had a great meal at Periwinkles restaurant.

Flew in for a couple of days. Good service and good restaurant. They charge the ramp fee even if you buy gas. There is no working PC so you can't get online. Note that there can be a pretty stiff xwind.

I flew down to Ocean City today - very nice airport with great views on the approach. The FBO contacted me over the Unicom after I landed and told me "great landing", and then directed me on where to park without me even having to ask. Great service, I will be back soon!

Airport management has advised me that the landing/parking fee is once again being waived if you are just going to the restaurant. Seems they got the word very quickly about the dissatisfaction of pilots regarding the fee and the willingness to go elsewhere.

I flew into 26N on Sunday for breakfast at the Airport Diner. I was told by the airport staff that a $10 ramp fee now applies to all aircraft. It was previously applied only if the occupants left the airport grounds but it now applies to everyone. This fee seems excessive for short stay to eat at the airport restaurant.

26N is a very friendly airport with ample parking and a good restaurant. Keep your head on a swivel in the pattern, there is a lot of activity in the area, including banner towing.

What a great airport. I called earlier in the week regarding rental car availability. As I could not arrive until 10 pm Fri night (clearly after hours) on a holiday weekend (with my family of 5 from Boston), John Judge took personal "ownership" of our experience. He gave me the contact info, asked that I call him back with the details, gave me his personal cell number, and assured me that he'd make sure the car was here with keys for our arrival. Everything was just as he suggested when we arrived at 10 pm. This kind of personal attention and care to make sure we wouldn't arrive "stranded" is not something I take for granted, and not something that is a universal experience at all small airports. Thank you John! We've enjoyed a great weekend.

Ocean City NJ continues to be my favorite summertime stopover in NJ. I never get tired of visiting this place as I flew in here for the second time this summer yesterday afternoon. The beach is conveniently close by, and the boardwalk offers plenty to do. Stay sunny Ocean City!

Flew in on a Thursday to spend the day at the beach. The comments here on AirNav were very helpful in knowing what to expect. They answered my call on Unicom right away before I entered the traffic pattern. Once on the ground, they directed me to transient parking (on the South side of the ramp), which was plentiful. I pre-paid for a fuel order, paid the $10 parking fee, then headed out for the beach. The beach is a walkable 6 blocks, but the boardwalk shops are a good 16-20 blocks! The FBO recommends Apple Cab Company. For beach access, be prepared to pay $5/person to the City of OC. We returned from the beach just after the FBO's closing time. The showers were still open, but we just used the hose outside to rinse the sand off our feet. As we left to walk to the plane, someone drove up and said they'd open the FBO for us to use the restroom before our departure. Very friendly service, easy beach access, decent fuel prices. A very good experience.

Flew in recently on a Sunday as I heard they had a good restaurant. Was told it would be $10 to tie-down, or free if I ate there - decided to try the restaurant, which turned out to be not much more than a greasy spoon. When I went to preflight, I noticed an oil leak, but no luck - no maintenance on field. Had to send in a crew to retrieve the plane, but due to poor weather, took 5 days to get it. Was charged $50 for tie-down fees despite the fact that I was there involuntarily; no local maintenance and weather precluded getting the plane back - not much consideration, in my opinion. Oh yeah, monthly tie-down is $80, but they still thought it was right to hit me for the $50. It's not the money, it's the attitude - needless to say, I won't be returning - very disappointing.
