What a great airport. I called earlier in the week regarding rental car availability. As I could not arrive until 10 pm Fri night (clearly after hours) on a holiday weekend (with my family of 5 from Boston), John Judge took personal "ownership" of our experience. He gave me the contact info, asked that I call him back with the details, gave me his personal cell number, and assured me that he'd make sure the car was here with keys for our arrival. Everything was just as he suggested when we arrived at 10 pm. This kind of personal attention and care to make sure we wouldn't arrive "stranded" is not something I take for granted, and not something that is a universal experience at all small airports. Thank you John! We've enjoyed a great weekend.

Ocean City NJ continues to be my favorite summertime stopover in NJ. I never get tired of visiting this place as I flew in here for the second time this summer yesterday afternoon. The beach is conveniently close by, and the boardwalk offers plenty to do. Stay sunny Ocean City!

Flew in on a Thursday to spend the day at the beach. The comments here on AirNav were very helpful in knowing what to expect. They answered my call on Unicom right away before I entered the traffic pattern. Once on the ground, they directed me to transient parking (on the South side of the ramp), which was plentiful. I pre-paid for a fuel order, paid the $10 parking fee, then headed out for the beach. The beach is a walkable 6 blocks, but the boardwalk shops are a good 16-20 blocks! The FBO recommends Apple Cab Company. For beach access, be prepared to pay $5/person to the City of OC. We returned from the beach just after the FBO's closing time. The showers were still open, but we just used the hose outside to rinse the sand off our feet. As we left to walk to the plane, someone drove up and said they'd open the FBO for us to use the restroom before our departure. Very friendly service, easy beach access, decent fuel prices. A very good experience.

Flew in recently on a Sunday as I heard they had a good restaurant. Was told it would be $10 to tie-down, or free if I ate there - decided to try the restaurant, which turned out to be not much more than a greasy spoon. When I went to preflight, I noticed an oil leak, but no luck - no maintenance on field. Had to send in a crew to retrieve the plane, but due to poor weather, took 5 days to get it. Was charged $50 for tie-down fees despite the fact that I was there involuntarily; no local maintenance and weather precluded getting the plane back - not much consideration, in my opinion. Oh yeah, monthly tie-down is $80, but they still thought it was right to hit me for the $50. It's not the money, it's the attitude - needless to say, I won't be returning - very disappointing.

In winter, airport operations are scaled back. The on-field diner closed at 2pm and the FBO closed at 3pm on the CAVU Saturday we were there. Still, the folks behind the counter were very friendly. Seems like lots of WWII-era aviators hang out there and chat.

What an unbelievable place!! I flew in yesterday (Sunday) around 5:10pm. The scenery during approach and landing is amazing. We got there past closing so we didn’t get charged to park but couldn’t get any fuel either. Simple short hop to a nearby self-service will do. Grabbed a cab (Applecab) for 10 bucks we were at the boardwalk in 15mins, there 24hrs which is great. There was so much to do we didn’t have the time.. Definitely coming back early and for a couple of days. Both night and day flying scenery is breath taking!!!!

Come here on 7/20/08 for great day at the beach an we found the place to be awesome beyond our expectations, airport staff was very friendly they brief us about what to do, there is also an little restaurant right at the airport. We make reservations at BAYCATS (316 bay avenue) where they have ALOT of watercraft sports available for rent from sailboat, kayaks, and jet ski, bear in mind that sailboats require reservation an some previous experience, easy to walk cross town to the beach but do not try to walk to town since it is about 3 miles away take an cab ($8 dollars) the airport staff left at 5:00 pm and they lock the doors so you will need the gate code:(122.7) showers will be locked as well at 5:00 but they left an water hose out side where you can take quick bath like I did, this is an great place to bring your family an relax your self you won’t be disappointed

I just flew into Ocean City this past Saturday and it was a great experience. The folks at the counter could not have been more friendly or helpful. The $10 parking fee is not such a big deal. The City owns the airport and the adjacent golf course (par 3) The beach is an easy 5-6-block walk. They have showers (bring shower shoes) to get the sand off before the flight home. This is a huge plus. They do sell drinks from a cooler in the adjacent golf shop but the closest food is a WaWa or Acme 8 LONG blocks away. If coming in for a day trip bring a cooler with ice water and snacks. I recommend spending some time at the beach come back to the airport to shower then the staff will call you a taxi to go in town to hit the board walk then take the taxi back and fly home. A great experience here. We will be back. (BTW bring some cash to the beach incase they hit you up for a beach tag $5 per person)

Nice airport with a pleasant staff. Limited hours of operation. Limited rental car hours of operation. "Just 4 wheels" car rental was very helpful by leaving a car at the airport for me since they were closed on Sunday when I got there.

I flew into Ocean City, NJ (26N) with my family yesterday and just wanted to let everyone know what a great destination it is. It was a beautiful day and a lot of planes were coming in. When we landed we were directed to our parking spot and I had to laugh when I saw 4 old men sitting on the bench arguing about the FARs. I asked them if they were rating the landings and one said, "No, we are rating the people that walk by." The staff at the FBO was very nice as well. We walked to the boardwalk and then back. I definitely suggest at least taking a cab one-way as it is a very long walk.

Landed on Saturday. People were friendly and courteous as usual. Walked the 2-1/2 miles into town to work up an appetite. Ate at Dells, good crab cakes for the price and not greasy beach food. Walked back to work off lunch. Ocean City is a clean beautiful beach town. Not the usual sleazy carnival atmosphere you encounter at our own Ocean City Maryland. Highly recommend it.

Agree with all the good comments. $10 parking fee was well worth it. Easy walk to the beach--longer walk into town but well worth it. We'll be back!

What a great airport and location. The beach is just a short walk, 10 minutes tops. Then you can walk to the Boardwalk (about a mile) or take a cab. The cabs are cheap, $8 one way for a family of 4 from the north end of Boardwalk (6th Ave) to the airport (26th Ave). Enjoy!

We had a great time flying into 26N today to visit the beach. The FBO is great with friendly people. Just a wonderful airport and FBO. I hope Ocean City and NJ appreciate this airport - if I could not fly into Ocean City, our beach-going dollars would be spent in another state.

Flew into Ocean City NJ Sat, May 26. It was a beautiful day for a Beach trip. Airport staff was friendly and helpful, as always. Plenty of parking available on the spacious ramp. Less than 1 mile walk to Boardwalk - what more could you ask for.
