I have been flying in and out of Clearview since the late Seventies. Not much has changed, always decent people, great pilot and supply shop and the fuel is cheap. As others have mentioned you must be on your A game going in. Not overly difficult but you got to be precise. Landing on 32 don't try to land at the end of the runway but aim for in front of the building. There is a pronounced slope at the beginning that is hard to nail. I fly my Bonanza in there all the time with no issues at all.

I always enjoy flying into Clearview. The service is great and the pilot shop is very well equipped for its size. Fuel is always very competitive...$4.89 on May 9th compared to $5.65 at my base (HGR). This airport is the subject of a lot of local lore. It's not nearly as sketchy as people will tell you, but you must be on your A game... I fly my Mooney into 2W2 a few times a year with no problems.

Do not let the short runway scare you away from such a great little airport. Inexpensive gas and a fantastic pilot shop ... What more do you need!

Its one of the most challenging airports to land at but well worth it! Practice your short field skills before going there and then get yourself a mug at the pilot shop!

Not a bad airport, but I was a little disappointed. My local grass strip where I keep my heli doesn't have fuel, so I jumped in my car with two 5 gal tanks and drove 45 minutes each way to get them filled at 2W2. Unfortunately their FBO hours aren't posted online and they don't have self-service pumps, so I ended up driving home empty handed.

Great customer service...Even though the field was closed and under 3 feet of snow, the pilot shop stayed open to service aviators needing parts/supplies for winter annuals, etc. Thanks - saved me the other day when I needed a 12 volt battery (charged up) for a long X-C I was going on days later. I'll be back.

I am delighted with Clearview the place and with Tom Chapman - the face/personality of Clearview airport. It's the kind of old-timey airfield that makes a person recall different times. Sort of Rockwellian. There are a few neat old and unique derelict airplanes to peruse and a beautiful bucolic setting to take in while you're there for reasonably priced fuel, an excellent pilot shop with maintenance parts, some conversation and a soda/candy bar. In my Navion Rangemaster, I land RWY 14 except when it's blowing more than 10 knots down RWY 32. And if you're not down and decelerating pronto, you better abort and/or go back home for practice. I think it was only 60 days ago a nice C182 was on its back off the deep end of RWY 32 some 50 feet down the slope.
