I called and sent email to this airport around 7/22/08 just asking if they had fuel available and how I could arrange to be serviced. I had planned to spend 2 nights parked there and then continue on to Oshkosh. I left a message on the answering machine asking to be called back. I also asked for a reply to my email message. It is now 8/27/08 and I have yet to hear back from them. Fortunately, I made a fuel stop in Elkins, WV (great airport, great people) before landing in Woodsfield. I landed at Woodsfield on Friday afternoon 7/26/08 around noon, no one around. I departed Sunday morning 7/28/08 early, sure glad I didn't need fuel. All I asked for was a return phone call or an email message.... Got neither.

I called the airport manager on his cell, as I had a horse racing at the Woodsfield Fair, Aug 19, and was interested in transportation. He was one of the most helpful and congenial guys I have ever talked with. He told me they had no courtesy car, but to let him know when I would arrive, and he would personally take me to the fairground and bring me back whenever I called him. As it turned out, the fairground is just accross the road, and a very short walk. The man's name is David Dalrymple, and I am looking forward to meeting him someday. When I needed fuel, I called him on his cell, and he had a fine gentleman, a WWII vet by the name of Edgar there in half an hour. I couldn't have been more pleased with this airport, and to top it off, fuel was only $4.25 plus 7% tax. (PS. We finished second, 3/10ths of a sec. off first place)

I stopped here on July 31, 2008. The manager lives on the airport grounds next to the terminal building. The fuel is assisted service and they don't accept credit cards only cash or check. The listed fuel price doesn't include the 7.5% tax. The FBO building was clean and modern and had a computer with high-speed Internet access. The airport manager was pleasant and helpful. I recommend stopping at this airport but make sure you bring cash or check.
