From Brent Crock on 10-May-2008
Flew into 54J yesterday to get a bite to eat at Mom & Dad's Italian (highly recommended). Was immediately greeted by Jonathan & Vanessa. They we're very friendly & provided us with chocks & a courtesy car. They didn't even expect a fuel purchase (thought fuel prices we're cheaper than others in the area) or any fees either. Excellent service.

From Pat Dodds on 15-Apr-2008
Very good service. Stopped in for few days had rental car ready. Vanessa was very helpful. Will stop again.

From Gus Coleman on 01-Mar-2008
Outstanding visit last weekend for Sunday brunch, provided courtesy car to head to town and back, clean, pleasant facility, very hospitable, will definitely return!

From Bo Wroten on 01-Mar-2008
I have been flying into 54J twice a month for the last year and a half. Jonathan and Vanessa are always a pleasure to deal with and both will bend over backwards to assist you any way they can. Fuel prices are always a bargain and service is great. Make it a point to write down their cell numbers just in case they are out and about. A great find in this part of Florida!

From Chris Keating on 25-Feb-2008
Excellent service...Cheap Fuel! Fixed me a little snack pack for the remainder of my flight. Will come back.

From Sky Powers on 19-Feb-2008
Great service at DeFuniak Springs (54J). The Jet fuel is $1.50 cheaper than DTS, and Emerald Coast Aviation will take better care of you.

From Matt Basford on 17-Dec-2007
Landed at Defuniak Springs today and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, offering a free courtesy car. Fuel prices are better than most in the area. I would advise 54J as a great alternative to Destin for beach travel.

From Larry Taylor on 13-Dec-2007
Landed 54J on 12/11 due WX and PAX/patient problem. Received excellent assistance from staff, particularly John. Highly recommend service here.

From Danny Brammer on 10-Dec-2007
A great place to stop and purchase fuel. Much better price than other area airports. It's much faster to drive to Santa Rosa from 54j than DTS when traffic is bad. (Always) All the people are nice also!

From Adrien Johnson on 07-Dec-2007
We normally stop there once or twice a week. And like always, Jonathan and Vanessa give us great services. Fuel prices are great too!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

From Ted Brousseau on 13-Nov-2007
I was flying my Stearman west when the sun set. Put in to 54J and met Vanessa. Wow!! Great enthusiasm, provided a courtesy car, directions to great food, etc. Will make this a guaranteed stop.

From Rod & Sherryl Cook on 29-Oct-2007
We recently flew to Destin and upon checking fuel prices on AirNav.Com found Emerald Coast Aviation had very competitive fuel prices and provided fantastic service. WELL WORTH THE STOP>

From Eric Grundelman on 13-Oct-2007
I was there 9/22 to 9/27 in a C-340 and the service was wonderful, and it is a very clean updated airport. I was staying in Sandestin and 54j is only about 20-25 min further than DTS airport from Sandestin but with HUGE saving on fuel cost and parking PLUS the folks at Emerald coast are super nice and helpful and Vanessa will take great care of you. Elgin appch was also great even though their are no approaches they got me down to 1600 for a visual on a day with lost of T/S in the area so it was EZ to get in. Great stop I will be back again!

From John Peruzzi on 24-Aug-2007
Thank goodness for Emerald Coast Aviation! They have the most competitive fuel price in the area. I was parked at Destin for 6 days hesitating to order fuel for my trip back to Los Angeles when I found 54J on AirNav.Com, so I flew over, and easy 10-minute flight and took 140 gallons in my C340A at $1.40 per gallon savings over Destin! Jonathan knew I was coming and kindly waited! What a service! Next trip to Destin I will park at 54J and let Jonathan take care of us!

From Charles Snedeker on 14-Aug-2007
Well worth the stop. Jonathan and Vanessa will take great care of you. Great fuel price, crew and rental cars, wireless internet, computer weather, comfortable newly refurbished FBO building and hangar available. 54J isn't as hard to get into as it looks being so close to Eglin. DTS is much more cumbersome geting in and out since there are only 2 ways in and out. IAP is reported on the way. We do business closer to Destin but come here for the service and price. Destin is an easy 0:40 min drive.

From Mike Alper on 08-Apr-2007
If you are heading to Destin area, this is the place to stop. Fuel prices terrific. Jonathan just purchased the FBO and bends over backwards to accommodate his customers. The FBO building is being constructed so amenities not in order (yet). But Emerald staff more than made this up. Jonathan is bright, customer focused, energetic and provided one of the best experiences I have ever had at an FBO. A truly top notch FBO. For Jet A junkies like me, I HIGHLY recommend that you consider Emerald Coast Aviation.

From Andrew Morros on 07-Apr-2007
Great Fuel prices!! Vanessa and Jonathon are very helpful. FBO undergoing heavy remodeling can’t wait to see.

From James Semmens on 30-Mar-2007
Great fuel price and outstanding service. Jonathan could not have been more helpful. Gave us a lift to Subway so we could eat before proceeding home. Bring him your business and tell your friends. Improvements coming. Help this man become get established.

From Robert P. Supina on 12-Mar-2007
Very friendly and helpful. Will keep it as my regular stop between Texas and Florida coast. Highly recommended.

From Phil Gomez Bonanza 25633 on 22-Feb-2007
Thank you Jonathan and Leah! After a faulty gear light indicated my nosewheel might not be down and locked, they both came out to the edge of the runway and had me do a fly-by. As it turned out the light finally came on and the gear was, in fact, down and locked. They had already alerted the mechanic (Todd from Seminole Aviation - great guy!) when the light came back on. They wanted to call for emergency services but I declined after verification of the gear being down. Then came the service. An offer to hook up the tug and tow the plane across the field to the mechanic's shop was also declined, but very generous just the same. When you look-up the definition of "Service", I have no doubt that a picture of these two fine folks will be alongside! Again, Thanks!

Response from Jonathan Dunn, Owner, Aero FX
Thank you for all the great positive comments that we have recieved at Defuniak Springs. We plan to add some great new improvements to serve you even better including renovation of the FBO building and a GPS approach, hopefully by the end of the year. Rebranding of the FBO commences June 1st with on site Enterprise rental cars at great rates, and free courtesy cars to visiting pilots. Also not forgetting the most competive priced fuel in the Florida Panhandle!

From Kyle Kraus on 19-Feb-2007
Great service, friendly people, and inexpensive fuel. What more could you ask for?

From Chad Rumchik on 11-Feb-2007
Jonathan at Aero FX offers great service and fuel at the listed price. The airport is in good shape with improvements planned in the near future - Defuniak Springs is great place to stop.

From Phil Gutwein, Bonanza 629PG on 02-Jan-2007
Very friendly staff will bend over backwards to help. Don't have to deal with Eglin or the poor service at the airport a little distance to the west.

From Alister Lyle on 22-Dec-2006
Very friendly owner even let me use his phone to make long distance call. Cheap avgas too!!

From Paul Pefley Baron N2762T on 29-Nov-2006
This airport is very accommodating. The FBO cannot do enough for you. Its old Florida type building with big service for aviation. Very clean and a counter staff that will stay until your needs are met. We stayed after hours to do some test flying and they stayed until we were finished with not a complaint. One of the line guys went off to his personal equipment locker for some parts we needed. Apparently they have new ownership and they are gearing up the place. The FBO manager was out painting bollards, then the next hour, in his business suit meeting another C-402 for golf cart service. The cost factor non-issue, you just have to experience. Thumbs up for this airport. Bad things, the first 500 feet or so of runway 09 is about 20 feet below the threshold of the old runway. Apparently the new addition did not get the fill to bring it up. Its safe but remember you will be on solid ground when you flare!!

From Cletus Maggard on 23-Nov-2006
Ditto the previous comment. Great fuel prices and a free ride to the courthouse when we came through in a bonanza. Thanks guys! We'll be back.

From Bo George on 21-Nov-2006
Keep up the good work Jonathan. When we arrived at 54J, Jonathan and his staff were more than willing to help us out. After promptly fueling the Cirrus, he overheard us talking about how were we going to get to the courthouse. Without missing a beat he offered to personally take us in his own vehicle. We arrived right on time thanks to him. As for his fuel prices..... WOW!!! What a deal!! Trust me when I say he has great prices. I own an FBO in Central GA. I have a feeling great things are going to happen for Jonathan and the Aero FX FBO.

From Peter DeFranco on 26-May-2006
I had not flown into 54J in about a year, and boy was I surprised at all the improvements! What a breath of fresh air compared to flying into Destin. They have extended the taxiway, finally started construction on numerous hangers, and as usual management was exceptional. The new fueling instructions posted next to the tanks certainly helps with self-fueling. They now have jet fuel, just wish my PA28 could burn it. All that is needed is at least one GPS approach; update the FBO decor, onsite rental car service or a secure place to park a car. This airport is sitting pretty for explosive growth!

From Gerald Metcalf on 12-Jan-2006
I was bringing a friend in to visit her folks, knowing I was going to land on a Sunday, I called before and got info from Leah about tie downs and runway lighting. She was vey helpful and even gave me her home phone if I ran into trouble. I took people up for rides during our stay and Leah was great. The fuel pump has instructions posted now that should make refuelling easier. Thanks again Leah.

From Bill Gardner on 27-Dec-2005
I've worked my share of avgas self serves. This one's among the trickiest, but it worked. When we arrived again on Friday midday, the airport office was locked and sign posted "closed," so no rest rooms, and no receipt for fuel, or even any idea how much we paid! Luckily the gas station across the street was open for rest rooms and refreshments.
