Nice place to stop... I stopped in on my way to Idaho from Mississippi in my Cessna 170 last August. The very friendly staff helped at the pump, gave me the airport car overnight and suggested a good local motel. Also the Owl Diner is a very good place to eat. Dinner was so surprisingly good we returned for breakfast and my wife loved the french toast with the huckleberry syrup. Their fuel is reasonable and there also is a self serve a few cents cheaper but their friendly service to worth the dime. I stopped in on my return trip.

Stopped for fuel on the way to KOSH from Oregon. Easy self-serve. Cheaper than most fuel we found on the trip. Friendly FBO. Good stop.

Very positive experience! I arrived 7PM on a Friday evening to refuel, but discovered my engine leaking oil. Couldn't contact anyone Friday evening (no emergency number posted) but called "Welcome Travelers" motel: AOPA lists them as picking up from the airport, which they did. Turns out that Gary that runs the motel is the stepfather of Kent who runs the FBO... he called Kent and assured me that a mechanic would be waiting for me at 7:30 Saturday morning. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate me, make me comfortable, get me around (dinner, breakfast, back to the airport) and by 10 AM the fitting was replaced (over an hour of wrench twisting, part locating, and the like) and I was on my way. Not good to have your aircraft breakdown enroute, but if it does, you'd be very lucky to have it happen at Laurel! Yes, their avgas is 20 cpg more than the "other" self-serve on the field, but if that 20 cents makes sure that they're there when you need them, it's money well spent!
