Just wanted to ditto the other comments. It's a nice, quiet, serene place, with interesting terrain south of the field... First the hill at the end of the runway, then trees, then hills and trees together. Not a huge challenge, but something to be aware of.

Stopped in last night to enjoy the beautiful lake and grounds. Met the friendly manager and got a tour of the property. One of the most peaceful airports I've ever seen. Would be a great place for a picnic, camping, etc. Brush up on your short field skills. :-)

CLOSED ON WEEKENDS this airport needs self-service fuel service.

Based on the AirNav entry, stopped at Spring Hill today (Monday July 3rd), for fuel. This followed a long leg from Bangor, Maine. Sure was disappointed to find no one there and no self-serve fuel. No signs, no contact numbers; doesn't even look like there is an active FBO there. The only visible sign refers to a lab business or something. Won't stop there again. Had to make a short hop over to Hazelton instead.

What do you mean "those kind of people"? There's never anyone there. It's one of the quietest, most out of the way, serenest airports you'll ever come by. Great for practicing touch and goes on short runways, or setting down for a picnic, watching the stars at nite, or staying overnite in a pup tent - just watch out for the flying type bugs in the summer - numerous! Also, avoid taking off on 23 with a tailwind, not a good idea, tried this once - high trees just after end of runway. Almost had to involuntarily camp out on the tree tops, in the airplane. Good runway lights at night - click the unicom a few times and they're on.
