Flew in to Spitfire Aerodrome on Sunday, November 22, 2009. Happy to report that the ENTIRE airport is now re-surfaced, and very nicely at that. Met the owner, Jack Fetsko, who drove us to the office (only a 1 minute walk), though still thoughtful. Shared some of his stories of helicopter development and such, and even offered us some refreshments. He has a full service FBO there with his son doing the maintenance on aircraft and helicopters alike. The approaches are clear, and it makes for a neat landing on Runway 07 when you pass over the highway on short final (you'll see what I mean). Be sure to stop in some time and say HELLO to Jack. His doors are always open!!!

Spitfire now possesses state of the art runway with lights and everything else. It runs 7-25. It's a good place for touch and goes if you plan to trip over Delaware River for sight seeing. Although no body was around at my last visit (it was lunch time anyway) they are friendly and helpful staff.
