Great airport, fantastically long runway, and the cheapest gas I've seen in a while. Will return for another visit soon!

Thanks to both AirNav and David Cross, Airport Manager for responding so eagerly to my message. Apart from his kindness in hunting me down it should be known that David is a very enthusiastic man toward his airport and the many improvements that have been made and those that are coming soon. Well worth supporting and again, a beautiful spot to land with fully functional facilities. I have put in my vote for runway lights, but before that I say congrats to David and the airport staff for great work on the field thus far.

Beautiful view coming and going from this field. Long runway is much appreciated after filling tanks. Was disappointed to land on Sunday the 4th of May to discover the fuel price was 30 cents higher than advertised. 3.99 listed on AirNav - 4.29 on the pump. Bummer. I might have gone to another airport. Now the "guaranteed" price is listed but the discrepancy in timing was disappointing.
Response from David Cross, Airport Manager, Silver-West Airport Silverwest Airport apologizes for the problem in timing our fuel price increase. We were denied access to Airnav to update the price immediately after changing it at the pump (this problem has been corrected). In this time of ridiculous fuel price increases we are doing everything possible to keep our prices as low as possible to benefit the flying public.

The Custer County Airport Authority has recently acquired ownership of the fuel system. Texaco 100LL is now reliably available at a very competitive price and a new credit card reader makes purchasing fuel a snap. A great fuel stop! - Try it out.

Silver-West was in great shape after the snows this December. The ramp has tie down spots available with some ropes. Would recommend bringing your own if there's snow on the ground as the ropes were more like wires because of the cold. Pavement all around is outstanding! Got word that the pump with credit card use is 100% operational. Great airport in the mountains!

New windsocks have been installed at both ends of the runway and will be maintained in an operational condition.
