Well. I followed Darryl's advice and came back. There is a brand new, above ground fueling system which works perfectly. I arrived on a Friday where everyone was very friendly, after fueling they helped me navigate my Baron to a parking spot, and tied her down for the weekend.

Andrews has installed a completely new, above ground fuel station. Everything is automated and new. Best price for 100LL in the area! Look for the new white above ground tanks, as the fueling station has moved. (The old pumps are inactive but still in front of the FBO.) Highly recommended. If you had fueling problems in the past, check this out again.

Flew in Saturday to pick up a friend. Nice little field. Did not try to get fuel due to other comments about difficulty, although the airport manager did offer his phone number to call if I had difficulty. Two things to note: 1) pay attention to right hand traffic for runway 13... As there is a BIG tower in what would be a left hand pattern; 2) as this is a university field of a Seventh Day Adventist school, it is unattended on Saturdays.

Flew out of Andrews on July 6th. Could only get about 4 gallons out of the pump before it gave up - I assume they were out of gas. The pump leaks a lot of fuel onto the ground through leaks in the hose connector.

The self serve fuel is a big pain, but dealt with it on the way to N. Michigan at $4.70... We had problems on the way back to Florida... The pump would not turn on at first... Then, when it did turn on, it would not pump any gas... The locals were very nice, but couldn’t help me get it going... Wound up flying to Stark County, IN to purchase my 120 gallons of fuel for the Aztec... Don't go to Andrews University without calling first!!!
