Self serve 100LL is at east side of Parking Ramp, and easy to use. What a facility! Looks like a huge hunting or ski lodge. Worth a stop just to check it out. Flew in on the second leg of an Angel Flight, and found ramp to be large, and facility extraordinary. Very nice field, and will return. Competitive fuel price.

This is a must-stop if you're in need of fuel around Chicago- brand new runway, huge ramp, cheap gas, and a giant FBO building. I fly KIOW-KBUF every 2-3 weeks, and this is my new westbound stop.

What a fabulous FBO! Their building rivals the nicest FBO's of the biggest chains. Very little activity going on. I called ahead and everyone was very polite. Upon arrival it took a while to find anyone. I only stopped in for a few hours and really wanted to buy gas. The self-serve pumps are a long way from the building. I didn't want to park that far away, and didn't want to start back up (a twin) to taxi to the building. So I didn't buy gas, even though the price is the lowest in the Chicago area. I'd have gladly bought gas if they had a truck.

I frequent this airport. It's a popular destination for flight instructors because the runway is wide, long and in great condition. I've never had a problem with the self serve tanks. Gas is competitively priced and there's usually a few people around the airport working on their planes or watching arrivals and departures. The FBO is kind of hit and miss. It's been open once and closed once for me. I'm hopeful this airport will get its own weather reporting and Papi lights in the future.

Arrived Saturday May 29th 2010 around noon to visit family in the area. No one was there to accept the $15 landing fee I had been informed about when contacting the field via e-mail earlier in the week. Later that evening we took some family members for sight seeing flights in the area, again no one around. Sunday afternoon as we were to depart I was going to at least buy some fuel, however the pumps would not work. I read the directions repeatedly, swiped my card numerous times, nothing worked. Beautiful place, but I'd rather have a worn out Quonset hut and fuel pumps that worked. Response from Tricia De Block, Bult Field A new screen and overlay has been installed on the fuel pump making things much easier to read. A phone number for management is also listed on the overlay if anyone may experience problems while fueling.

Self-serve fuel is reasonable. I stopped on a Sunday afternoon and the place was deserted. A sign said hours were 8-5 M-F. Short hours for an airport. However, there is a port-a-potty by the pumps, which is nice. The field is new and shiny, with some construction still in progress. FBO building is gorgeous (through the windows, anyway. It's great to see an airport being built instead of being torn down.

I would like to highly recommend this stop for fuel. Not only is the price competitive, but also when we stopped for fuel on our way to Colorado Springs on Sept 30, we had trouble with the card reader. We called the number on the card reader, and the owner, Jim Bult said he would be there in 11 minutes in his Helicopter. Sure enough, he came and verified the reader's chip was in error, and switched it to work manually, and we were on our way! What a genuinely nice guy!
