I won't call myself a happy customer of Canandaigua due to its high fuel price, but this is a good airport to stop if visiting southeast suburb of Rochester such as Pittsford, provided that you have someone to pick you up. I stop there when I go visit kinship in the area. The airport is clean, well maintained with very nice ramp area. It's far cheaper than landing at ROC. If anyone doesn't like the fuel price they can simply tanker their fuel from nearby airports.

FBO is very user friendly, even after hours the folks are awesome in helping in anyway they can. The friendly personnel - Chris and Tim are great to deal with. Fuel is very pricey, but the rest of the services make up for it.

Fuel is very pricey, but the folks are very nice. I frequent D38 and have never had a problem. Jim even cut brand new tie down ropes for me when the ones currently out in the parking spot weren't long enough for my plane.

Landed here October 1 to have lunch with a friend on may way to Watertown, NY. FBO was fine except for their computer (not all the keys worked on their computer which made it tough to enter what I needed), but $5.35 for self serve fuel? No thanks. I had enough to get to my next destination, which was $4.85 for full service.

Stopped into Canandaigua looking for a bite to eat. The folks were very accommodating. No crew car but the owner let us borrow his pick up to go for lunch. Nice people will stop again.

I stopped at this airport on the way home from Oshkosh. I taxied up to a self-service fuel pump with no fuel price posted. The pump did not operate properly, I had to swipe my card three times before going into the officer to ask the staff for help, they told to press the button gently, it still didn't work, an arrogant kid came out and pressed the button three times hard and it worked. The grounding wire clip was broken off and the pump is in dilapidated condition. After fueling I went to the office to ask for a receipt, they told me the machine is out of paper. I asked how much is the fuel, he said 5.35 a gallon, a rip-off price for a self-service pump. I would say overall this place is a shady operation and should be avoided.
