FBO is very user friendly, even after hours the folks are awesome in helping in anyway they can. The friendly personnel - Chris and Tim are great to deal with. Fuel is very pricey, but the rest of the services make up for it.

Fuel is very pricey, but the folks are very nice. I frequent D38 and have never had a problem. Jim even cut brand new tie down ropes for me when the ones currently out in the parking spot weren't long enough for my plane.

Landed here October 1 to have lunch with a friend on may way to Watertown, NY. FBO was fine except for their computer (not all the keys worked on their computer which made it tough to enter what I needed), but $5.35 for self serve fuel? No thanks. I had enough to get to my next destination, which was $4.85 for full service.

Stopped into Canandaigua looking for a bite to eat. The folks were very accommodating. No crew car but the owner let us borrow his pick up to go for lunch. Nice people will stop again.

I stopped at this airport on the way home from Oshkosh. I taxied up to a self-service fuel pump with no fuel price posted. The pump did not operate properly, I had to swipe my card three times before going into the officer to ask the staff for help, they told to press the button gently, it still didn't work, an arrogant kid came out and pressed the button three times hard and it worked. The grounding wire clip was broken off and the pump is in dilapidated condition. After fueling I went to the office to ask for a receipt, they told me the machine is out of paper. I asked how much is the fuel, he said 5.35 a gallon, a rip-off price for a self-service pump. I would say overall this place is a shady operation and should be avoided.

We called ahead (several days early) and inquired about how we could get from the airport to the hospital on Saturday evening, since the FBO closes at 6:00. Instructions and a phone number for a cab were given to us. Upon arrival, the number for the cab turned out to be a cell phone that was out of service. Called the manager on his cell, and he told us to wait until he could get back to us. 30 minutes later, he called and said we could have a cab "in an hour". I "joked" that I could get a cab from Rochester in that time, and he said that was right. I asked if he could give us a ride, and he said no, since he had already left the airport. He then gave me directions for how to walk to the hospital! The grass strip in Geneseo has better service than Canandaigua, and they don't even have high priced self-serve gas pumps.

On landing, inquired about current fuel price. Was told, "Don't know, it changes every day." Observed a $4.21 sign on desk. On return, fueled at self service (100LL), no price posted, no receipt given. Asked how to get a receipt and was told, "Put in your credit card again." Obtained receipt for $4.96/gal. FBO adequate, but not really helpful. Radio shop helpful when agreed to keep rental car key. I'll fuel elsewhere next time, and beware when price not posted and FBO gives evasive answers. Otherwise, nice little airport.
