I called ahead and to verify airport status. One of the courtesy cars was made available for our weekend stay while in Vernon. Service was prompt and the facilities were neat, clean, and inviting, as usual. Always a pleasure to visit this picture-perfect former WW II training field nestled right in the middle of one of the best wheat fields in Wilbarger County.

Very nice little airport. Their gas prices are always competitive and the folks there are always friendly. I fly in 4 or 5 times a year and if you buy their fuel, even self service, their big hangar is yours to use.

Vernon is pretty seedy, but the airport is nice and very hospitable, and fuel is cheap.

Flew into F05 yesterday and had a wonderful visit. Great people in this part of Texas. Called the day before to reserve the courtesy car and it was ready when we landed. Great fuel prices! If anyone flies into F05 and needs a place to eat, Seven Hearts Steakhouse in town has a fantastic ribeye! Thanks!

Arrived around noon in a C-172. Thank you Randy, we had such a great experience, everyone was helpful, great location - ride to the Motel (Best Western) - and pick up in the morning - great overnight stop, good steakhouse near the motel.

Forced down due to weather. LUCKY ME! Seriously! The manager and asst. manager were great. I had to hole for more than 6 hours. Finally had to have family drive up from Dallas to get me as weather was not going to improve soon enough for me get there on time. Weather was becoming more threatening as I was about to leave my plane tied down outside. They had some spare room in their WW2 era hangar. They offered it to me without having to be asked. New self service fuel system works and fuel fairly priced. Thank You David and Denny.
