Stopped here on my way back from Oshkosh. Fantastic service, they had a BBQ going in the parking lot and lots of people hanging around wanting to talk aviation. Great experience, not sure what it is like the rest of the year but was fantastic in August.

Fuel 5.08 truck service. They are running a BBQ here on the field! Great stop!

I've stopped at Richard Downing several times and always received great service and good gas prices. On my latest trip, I was going to arrive about a half hour after closing and called ahead to see if gas could be available. They stayed around to fuel the airplane. Great folks!

We spent the day awaiting weather for a trip south to pass, when it looked as if thunderstorms were approaching, I40 staff found space in a hangar for our bird and were most helpful during our day spent there. The weather never allowed for our trip to continue but I40 staff made a bad weather day into a fun airport day. I40 is an excellent small airport. Support them, nice job I40! We look forward to our next visit.

I agree with everyone else! Went to I40 for one of my solo xc for my PPL. Before I could taxi to the FBO, they were asking on my radio if I needed fuel! Super duper service. Friendly staff (willing to sign my logbook) and yeah the gas prices were extraordinarily cheap...But I didn't need any so I passed.

Outstanding new facilities! A "must stop" for fuel or just a break.

Nice airport and FBO. Staff was very helpful solving a minor aircraft problem on landing. Overnight use of the courtesy car was appreciated. Beware that there is no AT&T cell phone service and no public phone outside the FBO. So, if you land or need to takeoff IFR In IMC conditions after hours plan accordingly. Verizon service is available at the airport.

What a fantastic FBO. They fueled me up right away, with the lowest gas prices I've seen. They have a grill on the side of the FBO to serve you what ever you want. Clean, new and professional. What more could you ask for? This is a must stop.

In looking for an airport that had reasonable fuel prices I came across Downing Field in Coshocton, Oh.I40.. The staff is very professional and helpful. The FBO building is large, beautiful and clean with every amenity. During the summer weekends, a caterer serves meals on the stone patio outside the FBO. Delightful.

What can I say, other than one of the best places we've ever visited. We diverted here on the way bringing a new puppy back from St. Louis to Pittsburgh to get fuel and take a look at the weather. We taxied up to the ramp marveling at how scenic the area was. Jim the lineman was right there to greet us with a friendly hello, making us feel welcome immediately. There were a few other airplanes on the ramp and 4-5 airport personnel were manning the outdoor grill and ice cream stand. The facilities were immaculate and not lacking in any amenity. We stayed for a bite to eat as well. The hamburger I had was amazing and my Mom was raving about the grilled marinated chicken salad. Later some of the folks inside helped out with weather and with looking up some needed ATC frequencies. I would make a trip out to this airport just to hang out for the day. Oh, and fuel was $3.89! If I could give this airport six stars I would.

Richard Downing Airport is what all small, rural airports should strive to be! We stopped in on the way to Oshkosh because of the inexpensive fuel and went out of our way to do so on the return trip because of the first rate service, food and facilities. These folks are some of the most helpful you will find anywhere! They have the total package. If you are looking for a destination on the weekend, consider going there for the buckeye ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs and great atmosphere! Top rate in every respect!

I was in one of five airplanes heading for Oshkosh from Maryland when we had to stop at I40 to wait out some approaching thunderstorms. Turned out to be a great stop. The friendly staff cooked a pancake and bacon breakfast for our entire group! The Avgas was a good price and the facility is first-rate. Nice cross-country stop.

What a beautiful airport and the picture here does not remotely do it justice. A perfect heartland setting in the rolling hills. Great prices, sparkling clean facilities, excellent staff, the patio cafe (Fri Sat Sun only) with polite young attendants. Said there will be a new restaurant built on site soon. Will definitely stop whenever possible.

What a GREAT place! We had to deviate for weather, and basically picked this place for geography. The fuel was cheap at 3.57 per gallon, the service was friendly, and they now have food. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays they set up a grill outside. Hot dogs and hamburgers are excellent and cheap.

One of the nicest fuel stops you'll find. The airport is modern and well equipped, the service (full service) is friendly and fast and the price is great. They'll even give you a 5-cent per gallon discount for cash or personal check. Be sure to call ahead to be sure they'll be open at the time you're coming.

We visited I40 on June 7, 2009 for a visit to Roscoe Village. As others have already stated, this is an excellent small airport. The facilities are brand new and nicely kept. Staff was outstanding and very helpful. We were called on Unicom as soon as we left the runway as to our needs. The fuel truck was at our plane as we were shutting down. No fee for parking our Skyhawk for the day. Roscoe Village, a restored canal town is worth a visit, they will gladly provide transportation from and back to the airport. This is a great cross country stop or a good day trip destination. Just remember, no fuel after the FBO closes.

Visited 5/18/09. Fuel prices are the lowest around and the FBO is super. They let us use the crew car for lunch in Roscoe Village- less than 10 minutes into town. Ate at the Old Warehouse and enjoyed a nice lunch. The patio restaurant at the airport will not open until the second weekend in June this year. We will be back because we hear the food is great.
