I made separate comments under the maint entry for Bode, but wanted to express my overall satisfaction with the non-maint piece as well. John Bode runs a first class FBO at Double Eagle. All the line guys are great (sorry forgot to grab their names). Katie and Renee do a fantastic job at the desk. A couple of helpful hints: 1) KAEG is now towered, could not find that on any approach plate or the kneeboard AOPA print out. But make sure you get their freq and the ARINC freq (if you want to talk to Bode on the radio) before flying into their space. 2) Bode certainly can help you with a rental car, but make sure you have called in advance and made sure all is prepared as you'd expect - don't take anything for granted. They will take care of you, but make sure to call ahead. 3) Self serve and full serve prices are the same - let them serve you, they do it well

From Dick Welsh on 29-Dec-2008
Bode has a very helpful staff, but were not up to speed on the Air Boss program, but now they are. The mechanic filled the nose strut and would not charge us for the work. There is now a control tower at KAEG but it is not on the charts as yet; be sure to listen to the ATIS for the freq..

From William Tomlinson on 10-Dec-2008
Overall, a decent FBO. I didn't find their services outstanding, or the personnel overly friendly, but they did what was asked. I had arranged a car and hotel. After landing the car was not brought to the plane until I asked for it, unlike other airports. On departing, the front desk staff did not notate where my plane was moved to and there was initial confusion as to where my aircraft was sitting. After finding it, it was promptly pulled out front. Like I said, overall good - not great - experience.

From Norton Wolf on 10-Nov-2008
I arrived at Bode Aero unannounced on Saturday afternoon November 1 with a rough running engine on a flight from Tucson to our home in Canada. Stuart Miles looked after me immediately and I cannot speak highly enough of his courtesy and professionalism. He found the problem fixed it and the remainder of our trip was smooth. The Bode operation is first class and I highly recommend them.

From Gary Lewis on 16-Oct-2008
I used this FBO for a quick turn and for the most part things went smoothly. Only problem was no one answered the AIRINC so I could give my fuel order and tell what other services I needed. Lots of kids behind the counter for some reason might have been the problem. Line Service fueled us in a timely manner and we were on our way.

From Jeffrey Kyff on 30-Sep-2008
Nice facility. Friendly helpful staff.

From Don Grimes on 15-Jul-2008
We had planned just a fuel stop here, but were running behind schedule and decided to stay the night. So we dropped in, unannounced, about 5 PM Saturday. Bode took good care of us: parking, fuel (same price for SS and FS), rental car (Hertz keeps a few at the field for Bode to rent out) and reservations (they have a negotiated rate with Comfort Inns). Excellent service.

From Michael J. Bogenreif on 22-May-2008
The line service crew does an exceptional job and is very helpful. The facilities and counter staff is better than average. If you do rent a car (from Hertz) call Bode for the reservation, the 1-800 guys at Hertz dropped the ball!

From Blane Armstrong on 20-Apr-2008
Great fuel discount for Angel Flight aircraft with mission documents. Cafe above FBO provides alternative to borrowing car.

From Doug Creviston on 23-Mar-2008
Great service! Rental car was ready when I landed. The ground crew took care of towing it to a tiedown for me. Stuart in MX took a quick look at a leaky fuel drain at no charge. Courteous, helpful folks all around.

From Dave Bassignani on 07-Mar-2008
We flew into Bode at Double Eagle on March 6th and back on March 7th in our CJ1. First time to this airport, we usually go to Cutter at ABQ . Excellent service and avfuel saves us at least a $1.25/gal over Cutter.

From David Randesi on 04-Feb-2008
Stopped there for fuel in our Citation Jet on the way to PHX...Erin at the front desk was extremely helpful and very friendly.... Also, the line guys couldn't do enough for us...I highly recommend Bode!!!!!

From Ryan Shettlesworth on 20-Dec-2007
My wife and I stopped by there in December 06 for a few weeks to visit relatives. The staff was very attentive and helpful in getting me fueled and tied down. The day before we left we stopped by to inspect the plane for snow and ice, which it had plenty of and wasn't going to melt any time soon. After a brief discussion with the airport owner, he offered to hangar (heated) my plane overnight for FREE. The next morning the ice was gone and they pulled the plane up for us right in front of Bode as we were paying. I can't say enough good things about these guys. I would/will absolutely stop by here again!

From Jim Mooring on 01-Dec-2007
Calling in to confirm rent car for my passengers 30minutes out was told, yes its there. No one there to park us to I parked as close to the front as I could. Saw a nice girl cleaning the windows of the rent car. Gave a fuel order and went to the cafe located in there building. Breakfast was very good and very cheap $4.00 for a full meal. Line service took over an hour to fuel the airplane. There is no pilot lounge, so the only place to wait is in the lobby, where there is no way to rest as the lobby is very very noisy. Other than no pilot lounge the service was just ok.

From John Hayes on 05-Nov-2007
After delivering an Angel Flight patient from Tucson, I experienced a mechanical problem that required an overnight stay and some shop time. I want to publicly thank John Bode and all of his employees for their kind hospitality. John kindly provided a rental car free of charge and got me a hotel reservation. Everyone was friendly and everything that they did to help me out was way above the call of duty. These guys are the best! Definitely stop in to refuel and relax at Bode--the facilities are first class and you will not be disappointed. I will definitely be back. A+++!

From Marlon Young on 26-Sep-2007
Stopped by Double Eagle on the way to the Cessna 195 fly-in. The staff was great and very accomodating. They got us a hotel room, a crew car and carefully put our airplane in their hangar. Stopped back for fuel and the way home to California for more fuel and lunch. I would recommend them to anyone flying by ABQ.

From Paul M. Ferroni Mariah Fuels N811MC on 18-Sep-2007
On 9-13-07, I had a tach generator fail on my C-310, and landed at AEG for maintenance. I met with JJ, the shop boss, who told me they had one on the shelf. After removal, the Parts man said it would not work since the one they had was for a 400 series, so they would have one overnighted in. JJ called the component shop and explained that the connection on both looked the same, and was told my old one must have been modified. Needless to say it worked. JJ went out of his way on this, since I was resigned to spending the night. Very good service and very friendly folks.

From Richard Hamilton on 26-Aug-2007
Nicely laid out FBO.

From Dan Richard on 12-Aug-2007
This is a great FBO. I agree with all the positive comments and would add that Sherrod, the young lineman, was incredible. Everything he did was efficient, professional and knowledgeable. He even resisted taking a tip, saying he was just doing his job. I've used Cutter before at ABQ and found them fine, but this FBO is a cut above the rest.

From Edward Figuli on 25-Jul-2007
Great fuel stop. Easy in and easy out. Self-serve pump was good and facilities were great.

From Brandon Viani on 25-Jul-2007
I went to Albuquerque for the weekend and decided to check out Bode's DA-20 Katana. The FBO was clean, well kept, and had a very friendly and competent staff. The flying was great, especially in the morning. Bode was a fantastic FBO and KAEG was by far the cleanest airport I've ever been to. Bode would be a great place to do flight training at.

From Brian Brandfas on 23-Jul-2007
Visited here on my way to Las Vegas and then on the way back 2 days later. Facility was very nice, bathrooms were clean, and service was fast and friendly. Will stop here again anytime in the ABQ area.

From Steve Seidner on 08-Jul-2007
I stopped at AEG for fuel on the way back to Los Angeles. We went to the self serve pump and a lineman drove over with the fuel truck and offered to fuel us for the same self serve price. It’s hard to find such great service anymore. I will definitely use this as a fuel stop again.

From Martin Fitzpatrick, Glendale Aviation on 11-Jun-2007
Arrived at Bode late on 6/6/07 in a howling 45 mph wind. Line service was right there to marshall me and get the airplane tied down. They did a quick turn fuel, however I decided to stay. Chace Mayhew personally took me to a local hotel. My thanks and hearty recommendation to John Bode, Chace Mayhew, and the crew at Bode.

From Dave Morris on 09-Jun-2007
I have flown in here numerous times since October 2006, and most recently, May 2007. The staff and linemen started recognizing and greeting me on the 2nd trip. Very accommodating. Hangared my airplane and plugged the oil sump heater in for me overnight. Fuel truck or self-serve island for 100LL. Great place to stop.

From Frank Worner on 11-Apr-2007
We have used Bode since West Mesa was sold. I was under whelmed at first. Lately (last 2 visits) the service has been good and of the quality I expect. We appreciate the quick turn when returning home to the west coast. Good attitudes. Much faster and easier stop than at Sunport. Wish the restaurant stayed open later in the afternoon.

From Keith Dries on 14-Jan-2007
This is without a doubt the best X/C stop in this state. With a friendly line staff, CSR's, and a very decent restaurant upstairs, this FBO deserves 5 out of 5 stars! Keep up the good work Bode!

From Chris Schmelzer on 05-Jan-2007
On my recent visit over New Years had the same wonderful service as before in a nicer new building (redone West Mesa)

From AJ Brittain on 25-Dec-2006
When there were two FBO operations at AEG we would use West Mesa -- fuel prices were very good and hangar prices were good and staff was very attentive. We fly into AEG frequently, and we have noticed that since Bode bought out West Mesa, and that they are now the only FBO, the fuel prices are not near as competitive, hangar prices have greatly increased (from $10 to at least $25 a night), and overall service is not as good as it used to be. Last time (11-24-2006) the plane was not fueled as requested, and we had to wait for a truck when we were ready to leave. Some of the staff are very friendly, bit others are not 'attentive' to our needs. I miss the West Mesa prices and service.

From Robert Morris on 19-Dec-2006
I was in town a few months back for a brief visit and wanted to rent a plane to take family members for $100 hamburgers since it was my first visit as a pilot. I can't say enough good things about Bode and the courtesy they showed in making sure I was checked out and flying family members in short (but safe) order. They demonstrated real concern for my needs, and worked quickly within my time constraints. Top-notch service, from the instructor (Mike) to the front desk to the owner (who personally made sure all went well). Job well done.

From Jim O'Day on 12-Oct-2006
Good airport with a friendly FBO. Was asked at least 10 times if I needed anything! Outside of a black hole for cell phones (I did find a square foot on the the ramp where I could connect) and the inability to dial 800 no's on the phones this is a very fine FBO. Had a nice selection of snacks and sodas in the cooler too. There is a new tower under construction which will only add to the safety and convenience. It is a drive into town but the fuel price was ~$1 less than the primary airport.

From Graham Shevlin on 25-Sep-2006
Good airport only a few miles West of ABQ, but without the zoo-like business. The Bode guys lent me the courtesy car on a Sunday night when my local friend's car ran over road debris and blew 2 tires. They waive 1 night's tie-down if you buy fuel. A nice airport with good facilities.

From Chris Scherry - Grafton, OH on 18-Sep-2006
Sept 5. I was on my way back to Cleveland and stopped at Double Eagle due to weather. Out of the 12 stops I made in that two-week period these guys were the best. Nice FBO with a place to eat upstairs. They gave me a courtesy car, pointed me into town for the night and took care of my plane.

From Jim Hazen on 12-Sep-2006
I stopped at AEG for fuel and stayed overnight because of weather. The folks at Bode were fast, friendly and quick to get me refueled and get me a hotel for the night. When I got to the airport next morning the plane was in the hangar because "they didn't want it to be outside during the thunderstorms". No charge for the hanger. Great facility with wonderful helpful staff. Lineman helped me push A/C out and get me on my way. If you are going to the Albuquerque area, you can't do better than AEG and Bode.

From Joshua Scott on 29-Aug-2006
I recently received excellent service at AEG. The staff went beyond the call of duty to arrange ground transportation and lodging for the night. Good fuel prices as well. Will definitely be back.

From Don Grimes on 25-Aug-2006
When I was here (2006-08-06) the self-service fuel pump was OTS, the restaurant was closed, and the staff was unhelpful -- no one seemed very interested in accepting my payment for the fuel they pumped.

From Chip Gibbons on 21-Aug-2006
Bode is the only FBO on the field and it shows. They are competent, but far from friendly. I think it's the only fuel stop I've ever made in 30 years where nobody said a word to me. Behind the counter they were more interested in talking to each other than to any customers. Too bad. It's a nice facility and a nice airport. Maybe a little management focus on customer service is in order.

From Karl Gross on 16-Jun-2006
Arrived 6/13, picked up reserved rental car (not real clean inside, but available immediately), asked for fuel and O2 fill. Called 6/14 5 pm to offer to come pay bill and pick up O2 to allow early departure on 6/15 - was told they open at 5 so no need to drive out. Arrived just after 5 to find office worker (who was very helpful) headed upstairs, but who didn't have a key or know where the ops people were. Call out number not answered and mailbox full. Managed to get through security to unload car into plane, preflight etc. Returned to office around 5:30 to find it opening up. Asked for ticket to pay but they couldn't find fuel ticket from fill at arrival. Ended up leaving CC number to get on the way somewhere close to planned time. Left number for a call on amount and so I could have receipt faxed. 24 hours plus later, still no call. Time to try West Mesa or go back to ABQ next trip. Hopefully they will get better again - used to be a favorite FBO.

From Ralph Stone on 10-Jun-2006
Very helpful. Rental car available immediately. Put my aircraft in hangar when weather caused Me to RON. High wind and dust storm possible. Did not need fuel. Be back next week and will fuel. Thanks.

From Kelly Kyle on 01-Jun-2006
Great service---fuel price is the same for self-service or full-service---imagine that! Friendly staff, nice facility, got us back on our way quickly after a fill-up. I would certainly visit again.

From Mark Chin on 29-May-2006
Very friendly staff. Flew in from Dallas for lunch. The line woman pumped the gas while we went to ask about a crew car. The gentleman at the counter was very helpful. Overall a very positive experience.

From Pete Mason on 25-May-2006
Landed for gas 5-18-06 and got great service with self serve price. She was there to help with the hose and ground cable, thanks. Very nice facility. If you are stopping overnight and don't like big airports (ABQ) try Santa Rosa or Gallup because you can walk if you have to.

From James Ronnau on 03-May-2006
29 April; Good Service, Good Fuel prices, Worked hard to find a hotel room for me with a convention in town, crew car, I'll be back.

From J. F. Teague on 15-Apr-2006
Very helpful, friendly staff. That coupled with competitive fuel prices will keep me coming back when traveling west.

From Ray Sagui on 31-Mar-2006
Great service, great people, great FBO. You have two choices at KAEG, I've tried them both... Choose Bode.

From Don McClendon on 14-Mar-2006
Excellent service! Great fuel price, courtesy car, and the drive is not bad. 25 minutes to ABQ (where the fuel is 1.66 a gallon higher by the way). Everything went flawlessly. Great job, Bode!

From Anthony Tasca on 08-Mar-2006
Great service on an overnight on 3/2. Was provided a courtesy car, good directions, all at a price lower than that of FBO's at ABQ. Less traffic, cost, and nice people to do business with make this place worth coming to even if it is a few miles away from everything else.

From Chris Huff on 20-Feb-2006
Have stopped at Bode several times in the past year. Always receive excellent service and fuel at a competitive price. I'll be back.
