Have stopped at this airport before because of the fuel prices but this time, during a cross country flight, I had an alternator failure. I landed at Alexander City and Mike Goss stopped what he was doing, repaired the faulty wire and had me on my way in no time. Outstanding experience!!!

We showed up on a Saturday in a helicopter and Mike quickly arrived to provide full service Jet A. Clean facilities and a real nice manager.

Wonderful experience at ALX today. Cheap fuel at $4.99. The man running the airport let me have the crew car twice throughout the day. Overall great experience. Nice clean facilities to relax in. Look forward to coming back soon.

They lock up the terminal building at 5pm. So unless someone with a key happens to come by, there are no after hours facilities including rest rooms.

Landed at KALX over the Memorial Day weekend in a P210. We had a great experience as usual. Mike the manager is really on the ball and goes above and beyond the typical expectations for most FBOs. Fuel prices were also good. Thanks for the great service. We will be back.

Wow what a wonderful experience. Mike assisted with our car rental and stopped by on Sunday morning to check on us when our departure was delayed due to weather. Gas was the least expensive of all our stops! :-)

Good runway, good fuel service facility at great price, nice FBO office. Crew car but close enough to walk to food in a pinch. Neat, clean, minimal services with only a couple of vending machines, but very nice. Recommended.

I can't say enough good things about KALX. The person that makes this airport what it is, is Mike Smith. He is a 30+ year retired corporate pilot. He takes great care in protecting your aircraft while re-fueling. He even helped load my pax luggage. The office was closed on Sunday when I needed fuel. I called the number listed but really did not expect a call back. He called me back in less than a minute and was at the airport before me. He is the bench mark by which an aviation professional should be measured. If you ever meet him, you will agree with me. He is a wonderful ambassador for KLAX and the city of Alexander. I hope the city officials know how lucky they are. The fuel prices are great. It is nice to depart an airport without the feeling you have just been raped. Mike is one of those rare airport managers you feel good waving at with more than one finger.

Stopped out of hours for fuel. Can't fault the fuel price - that's why we went a little out of our way to refuel there. Two issues: 1. Couldn't find any toilets except within the locked FBO. 2. The nozzle on the SS fuel hose takes a significant time to cut the fuel flow after release, causing a couple of tank overflows. Forewarned is forearmed! I'd stop there again.

Made a quick stop on 7/5/2010 for good priced 100LL. SS was $3.85. Friendly folks. Recommend ALX

It would be hard to find a nicer airport to fly into. Mike Smith is "hospitality" personified! Nice, clean facilities and plenty of space for parking; courtesy car if you need one. We stopped in right after being raped at EKY (fuel was $4.51 and a $15 ramp fee, for nothing!). ALX has no ramp fee and fuel was $3.85. I hope everyone will patronize ALX.

From Ryan Patton on 09-Apr-2010

Very nice field with plenty of space on the ramp, reasonable fuel prices, comfortable terminal (with crew car) and friendly people!

From Gregory Ricca on 08-Feb-2010

Nice Fuel Stop. Price as advertised. FBO is clean. I went at night so did not get to meet the friendly people. Several important notes: Runway has strong slope; recommend land 36 and depart 18. Large hill in southern part of runway. Fuel pump is very slow. Pavement in front of fuel pump slopes downhill to the south and to the east. Set breaks.

Arrived on December 11th and departed on the 13th in a Beech King Air. Mike Smith, the airport manager/line guy/CSR bent over backwards to make sure I and my passengers were well taken care of for our visit. He got us ice and made coffee for our departure, and had us parked in front of the terminal the entire stay. Thanks, Mike!

Excellent stop. We arrived on a dark and stormy afternoon and decided to make a refueling stop an overnighter instead. Mike is just super. Take him up on the courtesy car, go to Cecil's, see Stacey, and have the blacked catfish. You'll add ALX to your list of great stops. The fuel price ($3.53) made it even better.

From Brian Erickson on 12-Jun-2009

Mike took great care of us when we flew in for an overnight! He was there to greet us even before we got out of the plane. Best fuel prices within 50 miles and second best in the state during our trip.

From Scott Riley on 31-May-2009

Stopped today in our PA-32. A very nice quick stop. Inexpensive SS 100LL. Nice facility and people. Careful on your first night approach to 36; runway has an interesting rise and dip.
