Flew in for a fuel stop yesterday. Found out if the manager is not at the airport you cannot get into the new building to use the facilities. This is due to vandals inside the new building. Now there is a new brick his/her restroom located next to the fuel tanks.

Stopped in enroute from Atlanta to Houston. Mike Smith former commercial pilot knows how to operate a 1st class facility. New clean comfortable commodious FBO -- Great fuel prices -- Courtesy car -- Eating spots & banks 10 minutes away -- All great reasons to stop in and check out this FINE FBO. I will make this one of my favorites.

We stopped on our way to Florida and on our way back to Iowa. Great fuel price topped off with great service. We needed to spend the night on the way home due to icing between us and home. I called Mike before we left Florida to check on the availability of the crew car. He had it waiting for us on the ramp when we arrived, and let us use it for the night. This is a great stop with awesome service, and plenty of lodging and dining options within 2 miles of the airport. We'll definitely be back again.

My 3-year-old son and I stopped in today for some cheap gas. When we attempted to start for RTB, the prop would barely turn. Mike Goss of Mike Goss Aviation was right there to help us. He pulled the airplane up to his hangar, de-cowled it and started checking voltages at the starter and solenoid (after I told him I was sure the battery was good) and determined that, in fact it was the battery. Mike serviced the battery, re-installed it, re-cowled the airplane and sent us on our way without charge. Absolutely first rate--thanks again Mike.

Stopped for fuel yesterday because of their low prices. NOTAMS said the ASOS was out of service. When we got there we saw why. Looks like the FBO burned recently. But the self-serve fuel was still available. We gassed up and walked over to a maintenance hangar to use their rest room. No problem.

Folks, if you ever find a better managed and responsive FBO that that ran by Mike Smith, let me know! My first experience was a few years ago as I fly from southern Indiana to southern Florida in the winter and I always stop for fuel at Alexander City because I know that 1) the price is really good and 2) Mike will help you in any way he can. Besides, I like talking with him. Alexander City is lucky, and should feel proud to have Mike looking after their interests.

Stopped in 23 DEC 12 at 11:30AM on a long cross country so my 5 y/o could use the bathroom and I could get fuel. Both buildings locked up tight. No pilot access to either building. No one there to pump fuel. Fortunately self serve pumps worked.

WOW! Can't say enough great things about this place. Best fuel stop in the Southeast!! Cheapest fuel, brand new facilities with pilot lounge and conference room. The manager Mike is a 16k hour former charter pilot who knows what pilots want/need. He will go out of his way to make sure you get everything you need during your visit. 5 stars!!

First Class Operation; Outstanding Customer Service; Great Fuel Prices (relatively speaking); Manager and maintenance employee will go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction. Do not overfly this great airport.

I have relatives in Alexander City, so I stop there fairly often. Can't beat the fuel prices, and the office always seems to be well kept. Note about weekends: The FBO is open during the days, at least until about 5:00 PM. It is unattended on weekends, although you can call someone to come out if you need help or jet fuel. For 100LL, it is an automated, self-service fueling station, so you can tank up at any time. Looking forward to seeing the new FBO building.

Great stop! Mike greeted us immediately. Gave us keys to courtesy car, restaurants are a quarter of a mile away. We went to Ruby Tuesday's. Great fuel price, overall awesome stop! Would stop on the way home but they are closed on the weekends.

We stopped by recently for inexpensive 100LL based on AirNav's price and found the airport very easy to get into, we were greeted at the SS terminal by the Airport Manager (Mike Smith) to be sure everything was OK, and found the terminal very clean and comfortable. (It even got my wife's approval, which is hard to get for most of the smaller FBO terminals/offices!) We will definitely plan on using Alexander City again when flying from Central Florida to St. Louis.

It is what it is. Cheap fuel, clean simple facility. A great place to stop to top off the tanks and let everyone stretch legs and use the restrooms. We will be back.

Have stopped at this airport before because of the fuel prices but this time, during a cross country flight, I had an alternator failure. I landed at Alexander City and Mike Goss stopped what he was doing, repaired the faulty wire and had me on my way in no time. Outstanding experience!!!

Wonderful experience at ALX today. Cheap fuel at $4.99. The man running the airport let me have the crew car twice throughout the day. Overall great experience. Nice clean facilities to relax in. Look forward to coming back soon.

They lock up the terminal building at 5pm. So unless someone with a key happens to come by, there are no after hours facilities including rest rooms.

Landed at KALX over the Memorial Day weekend in a P210. We had a great experience as usual. Mike the manager is really on the ball and goes above and beyond the typical expectations for most FBOs. Fuel prices were also good. Thanks for the great service. We will be back.

Wow what a wonderful experience. Mike assisted with our car rental and stopped by on Sunday morning to check on us when our departure was delayed due to weather. Gas was the least expensive of all our stops! :-)

Good runway, good fuel service facility at great price, nice FBO office. Crew car but close enough to walk to food in a pinch. Neat, clean, minimal services with only a couple of vending machines, but very nice. Recommended.

I can't say enough good things about KALX. The person that makes this airport what it is, is Mike Smith. He is a 30+ year retired corporate pilot. He takes great care in protecting your aircraft while re-fueling. He even helped load my pax luggage. The office was closed on Sunday when I needed fuel. I called the number listed but really did not expect a call back. He called me back in less than a minute and was at the airport before me. He is the bench mark by which an aviation professional should be measured. If you ever meet him, you will agree with me. He is a wonderful ambassador for KLAX and the city of Alexander. I hope the city officials know how lucky they are. The fuel prices are great. It is nice to depart an airport without the feeling you have just been raped. Mike is one of those rare airport managers you feel good waving at with more than one finger.
