  Have been stopping here for fuel on the trip to FL for years. Have always worried about service should a problem develop, as there is usually no one around. Last time through, it happened! No start on right engine. Should not have worried. Airport manager got us service from J.W.Willis first thing on a Saturday morning and we had a great overnight at The Inn at Blueberry Plantation. Thanks to all for the great service! We'll plan to RON next time thru!

  Stopped twice in one day for gas. No one around but self-serve worked well. The facilities were open and there was even a phone to call flight service for weather. As others have said nice and quick place for fuel stop.

  Although the airport was indeed unattended, our unusual aircraft (restored Republic SeaBee) caused a couple of local pilots driving by the airport to pull in for a look. The washrooms were clean. Drinks on the honor system in the fridge. There were two courtesy cars waiting with keys in the ignition. The first we tried worked well, except there was no apparent way to open the trunk. No trunk key on the ring and no release button found. There was a phone, desk and maps for flight planning, but no WiFi. Although the Plantation Inn has a significantly reduced crew rate (ask for it), we opted for the $53/night Days Inn, which is dated and motel style. Basic breakfast included. Self serve fuel worked without difficulty. There are a few tie down rings with tired ropes. I will be happy to overnight here again.

  Cheapest gas I've ever paid. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon (Oct 2012) just for a stretch and gas. Building and hangar were open but no one attending. Everything was clean. There were snacks and a fridge on the honor system. Courtesy cars were parked in the hangar -- also on the honor system! The prior entry in the visitor log had an entry apparently from regular visitors whose comments included "Deserted, as usual." With no one to talk to, I'm glad I didn't need a map or oil funnel. (Of course, I didn't bother to poke around -- for all I know I could have found both in an unlocked cabinet or something! ;-)

  Got delayed due to avionics issues and then storms moved in so we stayed the night. Put our plane in the hangar. The battery was dead on the courtesy car. The Inn at Blueberry Plantation had a sign, so we called them and they came and got us, and loaned us a car. The guy from the Inn was very helpful.

  Lowest fuel price in the area, but this was off-set by the poorly maintained bathrooms and a very narrow, difficult to read instruction box for the self serve pump, especially in bright sunlight. The hose reel and grounding cable were excellent. I would think it is time to upgrade to a more user-friendly self-service credit card payment machine.

  Great fuel price and easy self-service pump. Arrived Wednesday night about 10pm you have access to the office - phone - and bathroom and a car. Honor system drinks and snacks - good fueling stop

  I stopped here for fuel on 10/25/11. Pumped 14.9 gallons but was charged for 16.35 on credit card. No one around at FBO at 2:00 in the afternoon on a weekday.

  This is my regular fuel stop from Ft. Myers to Gatlinburg and back, Although I used another nearby airport for years, I agree with the previous post that I am now voting with my wallet. If you just want an easy fuel stop, well maintained runway and easy bathroom stop for wife & kids, KAMG is perfect.

  Stopped at Bacon Co. yesterday on my way from FL to Atlanta. I'm voting for lower fuel prices with my wallet. Lowest fuel price in the region. New ground cable; all systems worked just great. Baron is in the hangar. Plenty of tarmac on all sides of the fuel pump. Flexible hose makes it fully accessible even if a plane is parked nearby. This is a great fuel stop.

  We stop here regularly on flights to Tampa whenever headwinds prevail. The pump and fuel station equipment is getting pretty rickety and I expect the grounding cable to fall apart at any time, but it works. We've been here numerous times and at various times of the day, but have never found anyone here. Unlike previous posts, I haven't had any trouble with AT&T cell coverage, but have had the fuel station blocked by a local unattended Baron - if you see it when overflying the field, I'd head elsewhere unless you've got a very narrow wingspan! Valdosta is close and reasonable. I'll keep stopping as long as gas prices stay low. (And I don't see that Baron in the way)
