Stopped in for an evening dinner with a friend at Altoona. FBO fuel truck met us on arrival. Clean, friendly service at Kittyhawk. (not another soul was there) Good food (better than we expected). Will be back again!

Very nice, new and clean FBO. There is no charge for landing or facility use if in a single engine piston. Please support the FBO by making a small purchase of fuel otherwise we are going to see facility use charges that will stop us from flying on weekends.

Stopped for breakfast on Sunday. Staff was courteous, service and food were very good and the prices were reasonable. It's a nice trip from central Ohio to Altoona. We've come to the Kitty Hawk on many occasions and have always been well received.

We went to Altoona for a quick peek at the FSS and a bite to eat. The FBO, the terminal, and the FSS were all doing their best impersonation of a ghost town. The whole place was rather dead! As for the restaurant, I was the only person in the place at 2pm on a weekday, admittedly a little late for the lunch crowd. My turkey Reuben and fries, w/soda, was ~$7 before tip, and was about average in quality. The menu includes Chicken Parmesan and Cheese Steaks as well as standard fare like Meatloaf, and a plethora of pies for dessert. Overall I'd give the restaurant a grade of "B", partially because the restaurant is large, seemingly clean, and is decorated with many (20+) aircraft models. The view of the main runway from the restaurant is great, especially since the restaurant is on the second floor of the main terminal.
