Excellent experience! I flew in last night in a 172 for some ribs at Michelbob's with my brother and two friends. I contacted the FBO upon reaching the ramp and the lineman quickly guided me to the parking area. They drove us to Michelbob's in the courtesy van for free. I could have taken the courtesy car for an hour and a half, but I wasn't sure what the wait would be like so I didn't risk it. They wave the ramp fee with a 10-gallon fuel purchase. I needed 16 gallons for my trip back, so it worked out great. This was my passengers' first exposure to general aviation, and they were very impressed! I would definitely visit again!

From Greg Young on 17-Nov-2008
$20 per night regardless of fuel purchase for a single engine plane is the highest overnight parking rate I'm aware of for any airport I've ever flown into, but the service is excellent and a professional staff who are working hard. There are no parking alternatives at APF; it's deal for Jet & turbo prop guys, but tough on the little guys who require no services.

From Rick R Anderson on 28-Sep-2008
We are extremely happy with the NAA, after a VERY looong day, we landed at APF well after midnight in our hawker, I must say that the ramp agent (Robert) did an outstanding job helping our customers, two thumbs up for the NAA, we will definitely go back.

Stay away! Due to a storm I relocated my plane from the east coast of Florida to Naples. I planned to rent a car and return when the storm passed. Once there I was informed that before I could use their self serve pumps I'd have to take a safety class, which is only offered twice weekly. Their class schedule gave me no effective choice. I had them top my tanks with full serve and their overnight fee is $20 per night for a tie down regardless of whether you purchase fuel from them or not. Rip offs!

This is perhaps one of the best run FBO's that I have been to. Great Job.

From Marilyn Friedman on 13-Jul-2008
This is one of the most pristine airports in the country. It's a great place to land and visit SW Florida. The approach over the gulf is awesome. The staff and tower do a great job.

Went to Naples 7/7/08 to grab something to eat. I was taking friends site seeing over Pine Island, Cayo Costa, Captiva and Cape Coral. We decided to go to Naples for Dinner. We landed, Controller on staff was excellent. There was no car as stated when we called them on the Unicom. We did get a lift to a local restaurant and picked up. Overall my experience at Naples was good. Brought fuel to waive the 20$ landing fee. On a side note, stay away from Alice Bar & Grill, that place was terrible! N6065L

From Kevin Davis on 25-Feb-2008
Nice facility and staff. As stated below, $20 night ramp fee a little extreme even if the airport is self-funded.

From Bob Williams on 11-Feb-2008
Flew in on Feb 2 for a couple of days stay, place was very busy as always, but I found the staff professional and pleasant. My plane was fueled and pulled up just as requested. I was number 12 in line for takeoff on a Tuesday afternoon, what a zoo. Personally I think the fuel prices and other fees are reasonable compared to similar locations like Palm Springs, Van Nuys, etc. If you are looking for a friendly little place to give you a personal touch, cheap fuel, and small town service go somewhere else, this is Naples. FL for gosh sakes, what do you expect?

From Tim Krochuk on 09-Feb-2008
I flew my citation jet into KAPF with the airport authority last week. On Friday, at 8am I physically went to the FBO asking to be pulled out for 5:30pm. I went in person to make sure there wouldn't be any problems. I didn't even see my aircraft until after 6:30pm. Not one apology. If you are going to charge that much for fuel and handling - I hope the service starts to match the price. My recommendation to all flying in: call at least three times during the day of departure to check on the status of your aircraft. These people apparently are in need of some handholding, and the only one who will care about your on-time departure is YOU.

From Ken Bagwell on 15-Jan-2008
As the previous posts say, the parking charges for this PUBLIC airport FBO are ridiculous. $30 a night for a twin even if you purchase fuel. Next time I WILL NOT purchase fuel.

From Jeff Schnabel on 13-Jan-2008
Came in with a friend and all I can say is this. If at all possible, go to Ft Myers. Costs here are ridiculous. No fees and GA friendly at Ft Myers. Wouldn't mind these guys if you weren't forced to use them for all services. $20per day, come on!

From Charles Foster Jr. on 02-Jan-2008
Fly into APF on 12-26-07 thru 12-31-07 and was amazed, the airport was a zoo, planes everywhere, line crew did great job planes in and out, tower and ground control also did great. FBO very nice, employees great, cost a little high for a single 20.00 a night and 10.00 ramp fee when staying a week. Yes ramp fee waived with fuel, and don't understand why a pilot can't use self-serve unless a course is taken on how to pump gas. They have to pump and pay .40 cents more, might as well say no self service, I have been filling my plane and cars for years, think I could figure yours out. Keep up the good work. Also eat at Kelly’s on docks food is great

From Mark Doucey on 28-Nov-2007
We arrived in Naples the day after Thanksgiving and it was a busy place. We were parked quickly and had help moving our luggage to the rental car. No problem - Great service. We ordered fuel and the aircraft was fueled when I got to the airport. Again Good Service. What I will object to is the pricing for parking. I have been using Naples for 12 years and I had a sunshade hangar for 5 years. The monthly cost for a sunshade was 96/mo when I let it go due to the purchase of a larger aircraft. When I went to pay the bill I was informed that for a single the daily rate was now 20/day with no credit for fuel purchase, also a new change. We were in town for 5 days and spent almost as much on parking as on fuel. I'll look for an alternative next time.

From Darren Lynch on 20-Nov-2007
Arrived Sunday morning for a one and a half hour turn. We ordered a top-off and had catering. The staff at the front desk was helpful but a little over burdened and seemed behind. The line department was good but also a little behind all the time. It usually takes a while longer here at Airport Authority to get the same services than elsewhere. Possibly due to the fact that there is no competition. It seems to happen this way wherever that is the situation. Nice and, for the most part, competent. The biggest problem is they will do dumb things like park jets tail to tail and when the airplanes start up and taxi out they beat each other’s tailfeathers and doors. Be careful if you go in there. This FBO could do just a little better and be a top-notch outfit.

From Steve Smith on 13-Oct-2007
Naples, which IS a public, federally funded airport, AND a city owned FBO is TOTALLY out of line with their price gouging and services. Their ramp fee has doubled over the last few years and they charge a light twin (that takes the same space as a Skyhawk) over double. And when we bring our Commander in there, it's horrible. They use the excuse that it must be self sufficient, but are the other city services (roads, police and fire) self-sufficient? And they say they are here to serve the public but admit they give preferential treatment to some. I've advised my clients to avoid this airport, and it got to the point where we finally moved part of our business to another location because of this, and other great Naples problems. And we are based at Naples, but not forever. General Aviation as a whole needs to fight this trend, where city FBOs and federally funded airports thing they can increase costs WAY above normal inflation and offer less service. This trend will hurt flying.

Response from A. Foster, Naples Airport Authority
APF has increased ramp fees, but anything would be an increase over ZERO! We instituted fees in 2006--for the first time ever! Further, since the airport receives no tax revenue and has no taxing authority, we DO have to be self-sufficient, unlike any other city service. Mr. Smith's comments show we need to do better at educating our tenants about how we sustain the services they count on, because we do that year after year on a shoestring, and yet continue to offer terrific value. Unlike a private FBO, we do not raise fuel prices or fees to whatever the market will bear, because we are keenly aware of our role as a public entity, and want to keep aviation access available to all users. It's not luxurious ambience, but rather, the tireless, smiling, responsive service offered by our NAA employees that makes us "the best little airport in the country." We are public servants with an emphasis on SERVICE, and we bring our very best to that effort every day, and do it below market value!

I just completed a short visit to Naples in my Cessna 172. Contrary to some recent comments about poor service, I found the staff friendly and helpful. Information on the daily ramp fee is available on their web site. A mere 10-gallon fuel purchase is all that is needed to waive the fee in a single. So long as a FBO offers a reasonable way to avoid ramp fees, no one should complain.

From Alan Silvers on 28-May-2007
I arrived on Friday, 5/25 at 6:30 pm. FBO Staff, ALL the staff, was professional and friendly. One woman went over to the commercial terminal to get the car I rented on the Internet and had sent to the wrong terminal. I requested fuel upon arrival and that was done. I arrived at the FBO at 9:00 am this morning to depart. The airplane was not at the ramp. Upon arrival, I wrote on the fuel ticket that I was leaving at ten. They brought my airplane to the ramp within ten minutes. I think that Naples Airport Authority treated me very well. Thank you.

Flew into Naples today for lunch. Excellent service by lineman, and service rep at front desk. Aircraft tied down for 3 hours, and fueled as requested. Keep up the great hospitality!!

From Neal Kite on 25-Apr-2007
Arrived on 21 Apr 07 been to Naples in the past with no problems. I am happy to report no problems to report this time. The ramp/facility fee is $10 for a PA28-140 and is waived if you buy 10 gallons or more. Although the airport wasn't that busy the line guys and counter people were very polite and helpful. They do have courtesy cars through the rental car companies. You get an hour free, however if you go over that you have to pay for 1 days rate ~$30. I guess that insures you will only keep the car for 1 hr. I have mixed feelings, but I think it shouldn't be a problem for most people. I don't know if they waive the ramp fee if you purchase X amount at the pilot shop. All in all still a good place to come for lunch if you want BB&Q.

From Dennis Frett on 25-Apr-2007
After reading all the negative comments here, I wasn't too sure what to expect. I can say my experience was excellent. I arrived shortly before 10PM (closing time) and found the lineman to be extremely helpful in getting us unloaded, registered, and relocated to the commercial terminal, where I had reserved a rental car. I was there 3 days, was in and out for Sun-n-Fun, fueled twice and found the staff extremely helpful and courteous to my wife and myself, two small dogs and the Cherokee on all services and requests. Thanks to all at Naples Airport Authority.

From Andy Perez on 12-Apr-2007
My family lives in Naples, and I used to make frequent flights to the APF and the service was great. But now that I have read some of the comments from pilots that have been in Naples lately, I'm not that sure that I want to land in APF. Something has gone wrong there.

From Hans Welbergen on 06-Mar-2007
Used this facility on March 5th with Piper Aztec. Line guy picked us up with cart. There is a fee of $25 but a purchase of 15 gallons will waive that. Staff was friendly.

From Michael Langenhagen on 01-Mar-2007
Even as a local pilot ordering Fuel via FBO, you get answer like you are next. If you call 30 Minutes later and ask for time you get unprofessional answer like or you next after all Flight Schools. Usually it takes 60-90 minutes to get fuel. This is a very unpleasant experience with Naples FBO

Response from A. Foster, Naples Airport Authority
RE: LONG WAIT-TIME FOR FUEL We're proud to say that such waits are generally uncommon here at APF. With Naples being a seasonal community and our airport a public facility, we seek the equilibrium where we have the manpower to serve the volume, while still being responsible stewards of the public dollar. Line crews are trained and certified personnel with very industry-specific knowledge, so it's not feasible to hire seasonal-only crew. Hence, we're always seeking that perfect balance, because OUR mission remains the same, regardless of the volume, or the weather, or who is in the aircraft: We're here to serve the PUBLIC. That said we have indeed implemented a new policy on Avgas, giving our local flight schools priority over transient aircraft when flight schedules might be impacted. As a publicly owned facility, we must be responsive to local businesses and answer to our community on the ground here, just as much as to our valued visitors.

From J Kalbow on 14-Feb-2007
Stay AWAY from Naples Airport Authority, They are charging a $25.00 ramp fee even if you do not get out of your airplane. The staff there has been very unprofessional and rude to our pilots and staff. Would highly not recommend landing at this airport.

Response from A. Foster, Naples Airport Authority
RE: RAMP FEES The Naples Airport Authority has no taxing authority, and federal grants will not cover the cost of upkeep and maintenance, liability insurance or worker benefits, not to mention those crew cars, showers, trip planning room, TV, internet access, concierge, etc! The operations of this airport must be self-supporting. We have preserved the proprietary exclusive right to fueling at APF, so we've been able to be self-supporting and still offer a great value, but as costs have continued to rise, it did become more and more difficult to preserve the fee-free policies of the past, or even justify them. Under these pressures, the NAA in October 2006 imposed ramp fees. Ours are pretty minimal compared to some places, and we do waive them if you make a fuel purchase.

From Alex Kominski on 08-Feb-2007
Completely UNFRIENDLY! Affiliated us with an unknown party and were very unprofessional in handling our arrival. If you are a general aviation pilot steer clear of this FBO, they will charge you a fee to land even if you have to use the bathroom, and if you don't have the funds they will "impound" your airplane. FBO's such as this are corrupting general aviation!

From Craig Groff on 03-Jan-2007
I had called ahead to let them know I was coming and needed hangar space if available. No guarantee. On Dec 24, 2006 flew into Naples for a week. They did hangar our plane. And we also let them know we would be going to Key West for a day and would need it pulled out. Let them know at least an hour before we were ready to go and the plane sitting out ready to go. Fortunately our whole experience was wonderful at Naples. We will definitely be back!

From Reed Prior on 26-Dec-2006
Planned to fly into KAPF and use NAA this week, so I called in advance to confirm availability of the Self Service 100LL shown on AirNav. Note: I was told this is for use of specially trained base customers ONLY! You must attend a local class and be "certified" to use it. Also, their truck delivered 100LL prices were much different from those shown on AirNav. Call ahead before going there if you want correct fueling info!

From William Broderick on 19-Dec-2006
I flew into Naples last month on a night cross country in IMC. Fuel is listed as available 24 hours (see above this comment). I called the FBO before I left that evening to confirm this; they confirmed fuel would be available for me. When I arrived that evening at 22:30, I called up the ramp frequency and was courteously given instructions where to park. Unfortunately, when I asked to be fueled up, I was told that the fuel service ended at 22:00. Unless I had a medical emergency and was willing to pay a $150 fee for self serve, they were unable to help me. I was not thrilled. Their "24 hour" existence doesn't do me any good if I want to go home in the rain at night without fuel. Additionally, I was charged $15 for a ramp fee as I was there no more than 10 minutes. I refilled my IFR to Page Field where I self served my own fuel in the rain at midnight. I won't be returning to NAA.

Response from A. Foster, Naples Airport Authority
RE: HOURS OF SERVICE Our AirNav listing shows fuel available 24 hours a day. While that's technically true, perhaps it should more accurately reflect our real-world situation in Naples. Ours is an extremely noise-sensitive community and the Airport Authority has enacted an operational curfew between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., and we stop private fueling during those hours. Of course, under the 1990 ANCA laws, we cannot close the airfield at night, and compliance with our curfew is voluntary, but we do ask our visitors to respect the airport's very real need to be a good neighbor and a considerate citizen of its community. This is our effort to find a comfortable midpoint between the needs of our friends in the air and our neighbors on the ground. Night-time ramp staff can provide fuel to curfew-exempt emergency aircraft, but if you find you must arrive at APF after-hours, we'll be happy to welcome and serve you --- first thing in the morning!

From Blaise Pierson on 10-Oct-2006
I just want to clarify something. The tower at Naples is NOT an FAA tower.

From Carlos Roca on 01-Sep-2006
Flew in the other day to mixed results. The FBO staff was top notch. The FAA people operating the radios were another story. I heard them barking at one guy who obviously was visiting the airport for the first time. When we went to taxi for takeoff we needed to cross one of the runways. As a precaution (KY plane crash a couple of days earlier) I requested confirmation that we were cleared to cross the runway. The reply was "According to the FARs when cleared to a final runway you are automatically cleared to cross any intersecting runway" So much for safety and trying to prevent accidents.

From John E. Spillane on 25-Jul-2006
Flew into Naples Municipal today for lunch. ATC was busy and they do a great job. The ladies at the desk were terrific as always. Loaned us the crew car for a run into town even though I didn't need fuel. Always a great experience here.

From Ken Kelly on 17-Jun-2006
Great place! Super nice people. Arrived 9:00pm and was leaving 10:00am next morning. They waived the ramp fee without a fuel purchase. Thanks. Line guys were very efficent. I know the FBO is busy in March and April but in June it was a dream. I will be back!

From Steve Eshleman on 20-Feb-2006
Excellent service and competitive prices on Dollar Rent A Car, on site at the FBO. Very high number of aircraft and crew seems friendly but overwhelmed and somewhat befuddled. They had much trouble finding fueling request/ticket, and did not follow written fueling instructions. Avgas prices best in area, and ATC, Tower, Ground Control very good. I slightly prefer Page Field!

From Steve Edwards on 18-Jan-2006
Stopped in just long enough to pick up my passengers. Although I wasn't there long I was impressed with the operation. Was marshalled in very nicely and facility was very nice! Didn't have to pay a ramp fee either! Thanks guys.

From Greg Young on 16-Jan-2006
Flew in for the holiday. Staff seemed pretty stressed out even more than compared to years past. You get the feeling the staff were getting squeezed from both directions. I departed 10 days later, with fuel purchase 2 days free but the other days for my single engine was $20 per day! So my tie down bill for 8 days was $169.60! Wow! County Airport Authority won't allow any competition on the airport and are screwing the little guys now.
