One of the best General Aviation airports anywhere! The facilities and friendly staff cannot be topped anywhere, period. Full service fuel at self-serve prices from 7 a.M. To 9 p.M. And after hours call-outs are free. All new General Aviation terminal and ample overnight hangar space. You will be met at your aircraft by the service oriented staff when you arrive and they bend over backwards to insure a first class experience. I can't say enough about the overall great experience, I don't think I have ever been treated so well at any other FBO.

All I can say is WOW! I just purchased my first plane and was bringing it home to Southeast Missouri from Lubbock. Vacuum pump failed and I hit weather and ended up in Altus. Boy was I lucky! I got to see first hand what a brand new FBO looks like and how it can be utilized to the fullest. Red River Aviation went out of their way to make sure the part was ordered for next day delivery (it was late in the day) and Greg and his wonderful crew took care of the rest. Set me up with their Corp rate at the local Motel and gave me a courtesy car overnight. I ended up stranded there by weather for 3 days all the while having a car and my plane hangared! The staff was more than friendly and offered local suggestions to keep me fed while I was a temporary resident. I just can't say enough about this facility and it makes me extremely proud to be a member of the aviation Community!

Found myself in a bad weather situation recently. Fortunately the place I found to land was Altus. Beautiful new facility and the service was outstanding. Made arrangements for an overnight stay, let me use a courtesy car, and made a difficult situation into a nice stay. On top of that, GOOD fuel price. These people showed a SERVICE attitude that I rarely see these days. Thanks guys.

We stopped at KAXS for a quick turn and had a wonderful experience. The place was extremely clean and well appointed. Mr. Camp and his crew made us feel at home even allowing us to use his office to eat our wonderful catering they arranged for us. They also provided us with a generous fuel discount and our passengers with souvenirs. Great Job!!

I am always looking for good fuel stops in the middle of the country. I had the opportunity to stop at Altus/QM. All I can say is wow! Great fuel prices and great line service. They have a new FBO with some nice refreshments. Greg Camp, the airport director, really loves GA and is proactive in making his airport a great place. Enjoy the many airplane models that Greg has on display throughout the FBO. Don't worry about nearby Altus AFB, the controllers there are very friendly, and will ensure that you are separated from the Big Iron. My new favorite fuel stop. Thanks guys.

Wow! --They’ve kicked it up a notch! Five of us stopped in on the first day the NEW FBO facility was open. Absolutely first class! Quick, friendly service at a great airport for a fuel stop--good fuel price too! Thanks!

This is a modern, well maintained airport with top-notch facilities. Wife and I are musicians. On Valentines Day, we were to pay a surprise visit and play a few songs for the fiancé of a young pilot buddy who is away in boot camp. While in the pattern, FBO called with their location on the field. A very courteous lineman got us parked and pointed out their courtesy van waiting (not a worn out police car, but a clean, late-model Dodge Caravan). We loaded Jill's harp and my fiddle into the van and were able to surprise the bride-to-be before she left work for the day. Couldn't have made it without the seamless reception by the FBO. Ps. Try not to be distracted by the "free airshow" at the AFB 3 miles away. C17s, KC135s, oh my!

Stop there today on my way back from Denver. Nice people, good fuel prices and full service. We used airport van (very nice) to go 2 miles down the road to Applebee’s. They contacted me on Unicom, as I was 5 miles out to see what services I would be needing. I highly recommend Altus (KAXS) for a stop. BTW, they have the largest hangar I have been inside in over a year. Crazy big.

We stopped at Altus Airport Wednesday, October 27, 2010. This was an extremely pleasant experience. After landing we were greeted by a courteous, extremely helpful lineman named Benny. He helped tie down our Super Cub and asked what else he could help us with. We told him we needed a cab into town. He said, "Excuse me for a minute while I make a phone call." When he returned he said, "I talked to my boss and we'd like for you to take the airport van for tonight." We were pleasantly surprised. The hospitality didn't end there. The next morning when we came back in we were greeted by the airport manager, Greg Camp. He asked if there was anything we needed before departure. The fuel prices were fair, also. The airport personnel are an asset to Altus. If you are ever in this area stop by. A new terminal is being built, too. We will definitely return!!!

While delivering a Piper Cub, stopped in KAXS for fuel and needed much more. The people there noticed smoke coming from the left brake. A mechanic met us at the FBO and loosened the brake so could taxi to his hangar for repair. He found one of the left pistons/pucs seized and not releasing the brake. They were surprised such new Cleveland disc brakes would be in such condition---until they found automobile brake fluid in it. After repairs to both brakes and flushing out the old fluid, the plane rolled very easily after about two and half hours. They hangared the Cub and had it outside for my before sunrise departure twenty minutes before normal opening time. The courtesy van was full of gas, so could not help out there. Had computer flight planning available for preflight. Can't say enough good things about this fuel stop/RON. Call Altus Control Tower on 119.65 west of Quartz before going to Unicom, and leaving between 0800 and 0230 Monday-Friday, call Altus on rwy hdg.

Staff is very friendly. Tied down for the weekend. Due to threat of thunderstorms they pulled my plane into the hangar, and didn't charge me. Topped off fuel and even washed the windshield. Great place to stop.

Flew in for the air-show at Altus AFB on 5/2. Greg and the crew were extremely helpful. Pulled up in a 172, the line girls met us at the plane - helped tie the plane down and the fuel truck was there in seconds. Greg drove us as well as other folks that flew in to the air-show and then came back and picked us up afterwards. Great airport to fly in to. Unbelievably energetic and fantastic staff.

We made our first visit to AXS to attend the auction March 26 & 27, 2010. Greg and the staff were courteous and professional in every manner and went out of their way to accommodate all of our needs. They gave us a ride to the Enterprise office so we could pick up and kept a close eye on our C-180 as the gusty March winds changed directions, even moving it into a hangar overnight to ensure its safety. We highly recommend them to anyone traveling in southwest Oklahoma and hope to visit again someday.

Greg Camp and his staff are great. They help with crew car, local suggestions, and handling of the aircraft. Fuel is inexpensive and you get great ATC coverage due to the nearby Air Force Base. Great as a fuel stop or destination.

Outstanding service would be an understatement! I diverted into AXS during the worst winter storm in 30 years on Christmas eve. Benny and Paul helped me slide my RV-7 into their heated hangar despite snowdrifts, ice and below zero windchill, then gave me a ride to a hotel. The airport manager picked me up on Christmas day to take me back out and help get me on my way. Simply awesome, highly recommended!

Altus/Quartz Mountain Regional Airport is an excellent place to stop. All the staff members are very helpful and professional. They all go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are waiting to guide you in, chalk you, fuel the aircraft, hangar the aircraft if the weather looks questionable. Overall a GREAT place and one of the best I've ever landed at.

Altus remains a great place to stop. They're once again loaning the courtesy car overnight, and they insisted on hangaring my place (for free) because there was a chance of thunderstorms overnight. Nice facility, great service, cheap fuel.
