Columbia maintained my Skyhawk for 7 years. Exceptional & very friendly service. Recently I was stuck at a ME airport. Local mechanic tried but could not fix my airplane for several days. Columbia's head of maintenance drove several hours on a Sat. In Feb., and then worked out doors on the apron for one hour in 10 deg F. weather and fixed the problem and signed my aircraft off as airworthy, which then flew back to my home airport without incident. Such support is truly rare. This is an outstanding outfit.

Our experience at BHB was simply excellent. A cart led us to a parking spot, and the plane was securely tied down before we even cleaned up the cockpit. The FBO was organized and pleasantly efficient; refueling was done exactly as requested, and with the best of care. All in all a wonderful experience flying to Bar Harbor with a small GA plane.

Flew our Mooney Ovation up from Long Island, NY. Called ahead to ask about crew car availability - was told it was available, and gave our information. Upon arrival, called Unicom to verify car ready...Was told yes by "Cindy" or "Sandy"...Not sure which. Shut down, friendly guy picked us up in golf cart and told us car had just been given to a jet crew for "a couple minutes". An hour later, car showed up. Neither Cindy nor Sandy acknowledged us as we walked in... But went out of their way for jet crews. Will not return, unless an emergency warrants it.

Arrived for a summer weekend on a busy Saturday. Lineman was out to meet us at the taxiway turn to guide us to the ramp parking, then helped tie us down. Hertz rental was waiting for us at the FBO. Back to leave and everyone was just as friendly and helpful. Beautiful spot and a very well run FBO.

Flew into BHB on 06/19/12 for the first time. As soon as we cleared the active I received a call from Columbia with directions to parking and when we got there a line person was waiting to park us. You can tell when someone loves their job and Gary is one of those people. He tied my plane down exactly as I would have myself, and then gave us a ride to the car rental counter. When we returned two days later, he remembered us on sight and asked if I was ready for fuel. Very friendly staff...A great experience.

First call to traffic in the blind met with welcome and instructions on where to park from Unicom. Then, tie down began before the doors were opened. Efficient & friendly.

Landed in Skyhawk 329ME on 4/17/2012: lineman Greg drove us to the Hertz desk, and loaded our bags into the car. FBO agent Felicia gave us her patented lobster-restaurant printout, advice, and directions. Upon departure, cheerful Cindy prepped our bill for the already-fueled plane. Wonderful service!

Visited BHB 3/17/12 for an overnight. The Columbia people were helpful from the start - escorted my Cirrus to the ramp, helped with luggage, put the plane in the hangar overnight for the cost of a tiedown, and helped with the rental car. Next day plane was fueled and waiting for us ready to go. Staff was pleasant and courteous. Highly recommend BHB for a trip - rent a car and explore Acadia National Park - a singularly beautiful place.

Very nice and friendly people, but mixed experience with the line guys. Called for fuel top up. When I arrived later, tanks were ~1/2 low on both sides. They explained that they left room for fuel expansion - thoughtful, but not what I requested for fueling just 30 minutes prior to departure.

Arrived in a downpour, no one was there to direct us to a parking space. Called on the Unicom to ask for assistance and was greeted by a woman with a very bad attitude. We waited for 5 minutes with the engine running waiting for a lineman who was clearly juggling too many requests. He was very nice. We were directed to a space and waited an additional 5-10 minutes to get a van to take us to the rental car desk. This FBO is clearly biased towards Jet traffic. Tie down was $4 a day.

I have used Columbia/BHB to service my Cirrus in the past and found them to be meticulous, professional and knowledgeable. Yesterday, this was reconfirmed when on departure I experience an inner tube failure. Although, it was 7am and Columbia maintenance was not open the entire team jumped into action to expedite the repair. Leroy, the service manager tackled the repair himself and they had me back in the air in under two hours. This is a first rate shop and without hesitation I would recommend them for your service needs.

I just completed my annual from my Meridian at Columbia BHB. Not only was the job perfect, they picked me up and drove me down from Bangor, the plane was immaculate, and the attention to detail was excellent. Too many shops know how to charge, but forget how to do the work. These guys were a pleasure to deal with.

LOBSTERS EVERYWHERE!!! Flew in from Philadelphia for few days in October. Great airport, they'll allow you to drive your rental car to your airplane on lower ramp to load or unload your airplane! Lobsters are delicious, and they're everywhere!

We didn't need fuel but the folks at Columbia where kind enough to loan us the crew car, we took a drive around Acadia and then had dinner. We had a landing gear indication light out and the guys in Maintenance were kind enough to get the bulb we needed. Great service, we will be back

Cindy and Felicia in the office were very friendly and helpful. The lineman, whose name I unfortunately don't know, was also very nice. The folks at Hertz rental car were kind enough to leave the keys at this FBO since we arrived after the rental counter closed.

I fly into BHB every week, at least with a C-340 or an MU2, and I have never failed to have prompt and courteous service by the line, as well as desk personnel. Also, when called upon to repair or look at a problem on the planes, Leroy, Dean or Rob drops almost anything they are doing to come and help. As a corporate pilot that flies a lot into small...Or even large airports regularly, comparing one to the other, I recommend and commend the BHB airport to all who fly, from the smallest to the largest of aircraft. Keep up the good work "guys" :)

The line guys were great. On arrival they transported our luggage in a gulf cart from the lower (piston) ramp up to the FBO office. Very friendly and helpful. On our departure, I called ahead and one of them gave me the code for the gate. We just drove our rental car to the plane and loaded up. On the other hand, the counter ladies are not particularly interested in talking to piston drivers. They did not go out of their way to be helpful either on the radio or in person.

The "service" at this FBO is without a doubt the worst experience I've had. Arrived with wife and young daughters (5&7) around 7 pm. Were instructed on the UNICOM by the FBO to taxi to the lower ramp. She said, "just pick up any available spot", no lineman available. We unloaded our luggage and after 15-20 minutes no one came to help us. We had to walk up the ramp to the FBO by ourselves and carry our luggage, about 400 yds. On departure, our taxi driver called the FBO from the road to request a luggage cart. Waited 10 minutes and no one came. We carried our luggage to the FBO. I requested fuel and the lady said she would radio the guy. We ended up AGAIN, taking our luggage all the way across the jet ramp to the piston ramp. We loaded our stuff, did our preflight and the fuel truck never came. I had to call the FBO on my cell phone and a guy answered...He was never told we were waiting for fuel!... JUST A TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!!

Unicom, desk, and line staff was prompt and friendly. Fuel order was handled while flight planning. However, holding back a better experience rating is the following: the piston aircraft were parked on the lower ramp far away from the FBO. We had a good amount of baggage for our trip. No offer was made for helping us out from or back to our airplane with the bags.

Flew in July 8 late afternoon. Helpful lineman got fuel for us quickly. Upon leaving the next afternoon, lineman loaded up our several bags and drove us back to our C182. Ramp was filled with biz jets. Took a cab to our hotel - Taxi-Tours. Richard, our driver, was EXCELLENT. Next day, with an unscheduled weather related earlier departure, gave us a quick but informative tour of Desert Island. Made the trip worth it.
