Recently stopped at BIH while on a round robin from KEDU near Sacramento. I was very impressed with the airport, lots of runways to chose from, the facility was impressive, and the folks at Thai Thai Restaurant (right in the terminal) were super friendly. The special Basil dish was excellent! They are open for lunch and dinner Tues-Sun, closed Mondays.

What a great GA airport. We flew in for the weekend and could not have asked for a better place to land. It's got the cheapest fuel for miles around ($5.17 for 100LL as of 6/12/11), plenty of runways to help minimize the crosswind factor, a great pilot's lounge stocked with aviation books, magazines, and a self-serve 'honor system' snack bar, a nice grassy picnic area, plenty of bicycles for the trip into town, and rental cars available thru Enterprise. The on-airport restaurant, Thai Thai, is excellent, with tasty Thai food at very reasonable prices. Oh, and Schat's bakery in town (2 miles) is quite easily the best and largest bakery I've ever seen. Stop by Bishop -- you won't regret it.

Two of us flew down from the Tahoe area in search of a $100 Thai lunch, and the Thai Thai restaurant did not disappoint. Good service, good food, nice people, and a spectacular ride with snow-covered peaks all around.

Diverted from Mammoth due to weather. Staff was ready to help passengers with rental car and took them to the rental car office in personal vehicle to pick up the car and get them on their way.

Great place. The manager lent me his personal vehicle for a run into town. The restaurant stayed open to serve us lunch, good food and good service. I didn't buy any fuel, but I should have. I hope to go back for skiing this winter.

Long long long over due: We operate the LVIS lidar basing out of Bishop every couple of years since 1993 doing airborne laser surveys in the area. The Bishop field is a great field to operate out of, and the local hotels and services are perfect for our needs. The staff allows us to set up GPS survey stations and cater to our fueling and operating needs. They're always a pleasure to chat and work with and super helpful with whatever oddball requests we have. I always look forward to being deployed at Bishop.

Echo the comments about Bishop's hospitality. The fuel truck operator was very friendly, helpful and offered us directions and bikes into town. A wonderful airport with great people. I will return often.

The new restaurant, Thai Thai, is very good. The food was tasty. Service was quick and friendly, even though it was full at Tuesday lunch. Lunch items ranged from $4 to $10. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day except Monday. This is another reason to land at Bishop, since in addition to usually having the cheapest fuel prices around; it now has the only airport restaurant for many miles in any direction.

Flew in on May 1st for breakfast and trip to Schat's bakery. No courtesy cars are available, but they have excellent public transportation to town or bicycles to take into town, about 2 miles out. Very nice facility and the people were very friendly.

The people at the airport are very nice and invited me to join them for lunch at no charge. They helped me with local routes and weather and have bikes available to go into town. This is a great place to visit and everyone is very friendly - I'll be back.

The new restaurant will open at the Bishop Airport this week! It will be open six days a week, and will serve both American and Thai food. Come and get the restaurant off to a good start!

I am a regular visitor during ski season..... Here are some great reasons to use BIH instead on MMH. Fuel price ($1.50 gal cheaper) parking no snow and $6.00 free night if u buy fuel MMH is about $12.00. No snow, no deicing no preheating no paint scratches from chipping ice off. Cross-runways.. Lots of them. No wind or density altitude issues like MMH and only a 25-minute drive longer than using MMH. Cheap hotels and rental cars. Value Sports on the way out of town had the best deals on ski stuff..... And the Weather!!!! always better than MMH and you can usually get out and get down valley when it is snowing at MMH. Ski MMH Land BIH. Don't bust your butt in the big crosswinds and snow at MMH and the high-density altitude.... Use BIH.. Cheaper and safer.... CFI/ATP 28, 300 hours and this is not Bravo Sierra....

Great airport for our tour group of 10 planes en route to Mammoth Lakes when Mammoth-Yosemite runways closed. The line guys couldn't be more fun and professional. Will stop again!
