I've been here a half dozen times. Good fuel prices, rental cars are easy. Clean FBO and several places to eat in town. Try Mahogany Smoked Meats for a sandwich. They have the biggest selection of fresh jerky I've ever seen. Maybe 25 types? Someday I'll remember to bring an ice chest to stock up on meats too.

We'd planned a trip up from Las Vegas to tour Bowie and Yosemite a month ago, but rental car rates and demand had us cancel. Got great help from Ken on all we needed. I made a trip up today on a Saturday. Turned out to be Ken's day off, but Richard was very helpful. Fuel economical by 2013 standards, and friendly folks all over the airport, plus good airport facilities. Terrain means minimum IFR vectoring altitude is 15, 000 southeast of the area, but VFR was quick and easy. Surprised to see Thai restaurant on the field, which looked pretty good and is apparently well thought of!

Bishop was a wonderful airport yesterday. I stopped there for a court appearance in town and the transportation was easy, the fuel well priced, and the service a stand out. It is always "what can I do to help you enjoy this airport" and we, as pilots, should appreciate that attitude. I really enjoy being in Bishop, have been there many times, and will be back.

Stopped in Bishop for a quick fuel stop this weekend. First time there. Received direction from Unicom to the self-serve pumps. Easy in and out. Not much else happening on the airport except FedEx on the ramp. Good fuel prices and multiple long runways. Would definitely recommend and use again. We landed in smoke/haze and noted it's a pretty narrow valley between tall mountains. Conditions were VFR but probably would have scared us away without prior IFR experience.

Literally from start to finish I had an amazing experience with this airport. Before my trip I called Ken Babione, "Lead Airport Technician, " who gave me a great overview of the sights to visit on our trip. He arranged for a Hertz rental car and made everything super easy. Ken even offered his cell phone so that we could call, should we have questions during our trip. Then when we got back home, my wife realized that she had left her purse in the rental car. Ken very quickly found the purse and offered to send it back UPS. What service! This is a definite 'must visit' airport for those who like to fly and explore. Bishop is a very cool town as well.

Thank you to Ken and staff for the great service as always! A great alternative to MMH when weather is marginal, and the fuel prices are markedly better then nearly anywhere else. The helpful push to a nearly electric outlet for a quick preheat was very much appreciated by my cold soaked engine!

My wife and I landed at Bishop last week for a little vacation. This is a great airport. The FBO is super, helpful and friendly. There is a great restaurant in the same building as the FBO and is real good. The town of Bishop is very nice. We will certainly stop here again if we are anywhere near.

What a classy outfit. I’ve flown all over the US and rarely have I found the high level of professional attentiveness that exists at KBIH. Thanks guys, I'll be back with more avocados.

I am high time retired airline Captain and a regular visitor. Anybody that uses MMH is rich or nuts...BIH is much safer 3 runways 4200 MSL instead of 8000 gas is real cheap, 24 hour and tie down is 10 bucks. Mammoth is about $8 a gallon and the snow, ice and crosswinds plus ramp and high parking fees will kill...I don't care how nice they are at Hot Creek. KBIH is the safest and cheapest..... And the staff is great.. And no deice or preheat needed. Fly safe....

Recently stopped at BIH while on a round robin from KEDU near Sacramento. I was very impressed with the airport, lots of runways to chose from, the facility was impressive, and the folks at Thai Thai Restaurant (right in the terminal) were super friendly. The special Basil dish was excellent! They are open for lunch and dinner Tues-Sun, closed Mondays.

What a great GA airport. We flew in for the weekend and could not have asked for a better place to land. It's got the cheapest fuel for miles around ($5.17 for 100LL as of 6/12/11), plenty of runways to help minimize the crosswind factor, a great pilot's lounge stocked with aviation books, magazines, and a self-serve 'honor system' snack bar, a nice grassy picnic area, plenty of bicycles for the trip into town, and rental cars available thru Enterprise. The on-airport restaurant, Thai Thai, is excellent, with tasty Thai food at very reasonable prices. Oh, and Schat's bakery in town (2 miles) is quite easily the best and largest bakery I've ever seen. Stop by Bishop -- you won't regret it.

Two of us flew down from the Tahoe area in search of a $100 Thai lunch, and the Thai Thai restaurant did not disappoint. Good service, good food, nice people, and a spectacular ride with snow-covered peaks all around.

Diverted from Mammoth due to weather. Staff was ready to help passengers with rental car and took them to the rental car office in personal vehicle to pick up the car and get them on their way.
