I posted on April 3rd about being assessed a ramp fee when I was on a multiple leg trip and planned to stop back later. When I passed through to drop a passenger, I was told if I had to pay a $65 fee or purchase 65 gallons. In the past, they would waive the fee if I purchased fuel on the return trip. That wasn't allowed this trip. One my way back today, they apologized and said they would work with me in the future. That makes a big difference to me and will open me up to returning and working with them. Dave

I was very disappointed to be informed that if I didn't purchase 65 gallons of fuel there would be a $65 ramp fee. I was dropping a passenger and heading to Orlando. I do this annually to attend simulator training. I informed them I would stop on the way back and top off. That wasn't acceptable to them. I was required to put 65 gallons of fuel in right then, or pay a $65 ramp charge. I have no need to stop at this FBO. I did it to drop a friend and usually put in over 150 gallons for the return trip to Dallas. It's not like I don't support them; it's the wouldn't wait a couple days for me to take the time to refuel on the return trip. I will probably make other future arrangements in light of this. I will post this on other aviation boards to which I participate. Best, Dave

Stopped in at American Aviation while traveling for the holiday. I was very impressed with the service. My rental car was waiting for me on the ramp and the front desk staff had my information on file. I was there for four days and had excellent service. I felt the fuel prices were reasonable and competitive.

Along with the proposed name change of the Hernando County Airport comes the high fuel prices. At least in Tampa or St. Pete I get good service with the high price. Service is slow and lethargic and the staff seemed as if they were doing me a courtesy instead of appreciating my business. I recommend using another airport, as the other FBO is now defunct.

The BKV Air Traffic Manger says they plan on commissioning the new control tower at 0700 on 10/15/12 (Monday). Pay close attention to NOTAMS if you are heading that way. They are currently running an advisory service on the tower frequency of 118.55 MHz from 8am-4pm this week. Tower operational hours after commission will be 0700-2200 (7am-10pm). The pilot controlled lighting has already been placed on the tower frequency for anyone heading up there after dark. BKV Class D is surface up to and including 1500 feet MSL within a 5.1 statue mile radius of the Hernando County Airport when the control tower is operational. Tower 118.55 MHz Ground 121.4 MHz

I landed at BKV last Friday, the girls at the front desk were nice and the facility was very clean. Fuel was reasonable and the people were a delight. I will be back soon, American Aviation is a great FBO.

We've used American Aviation's line service and their excellent full-service shop. This FBO is clean, efficient and professional. Turn-around is quick. All FBO's should use American Aviation as their model for customer care.

Went in to purchase 2 quarts of oil for my twin for our return to Chicago and waited forever. The line worker was over worked and placed our oil purchase to the bottom of the queue. Finally another gentlemen went and got the oil. I will not be waiting 45 minutes (12:23PM - 1:02PM) again for oil, as I will NEVER patronize this establishment in the future.

Had to divert to KBKV to avoid weather while flying to KORL Sunday 9/18/11. What a great experience once we arrived! Hospitality was unbelievable. I found my new go to airport & FBO when deviated on the west side of Florida. American Aviation was great!!

I stayed one night in Tampa this week and elected to use American Aviation as my FBO. This is a great FBO and I will use them again. There was a minor snafu with my rental car, but they handled it well. The facility is nice and useful. There is plenty of space to tie-down. Overall a good experience.

June 6 2011 on my way home from Marathon stopped at BKV to get fuel, lost avionics on final intermittently, landed and taxied to American Aviation where Justin was courteous and fueled the plane. The ladies inside were very nice and courteous also. As we were getting ready to leave the plane wouldn't start, Justin pulled us around to the Cessna service center where Pete and Brian stopped what they were doing to help. (I think if I have any bodywork on my plane again it would be them) They had the problem fixed in no time. Wendell the service center director was very courteous and extremely fair on the price of the repair. Upon leaving the weather kept us there for an hour or so longer. Justin stayed beyond closing so we wouldn’t have to wait in the rain. Overall it’s by far the best experience I've had at a FBO. Thank You all and God bless you all.

I would like to thank the Linemen and Women in the lobby for there hospitality on June 1, 2011. I was forced to make a stop due to weather. The Linemen parked me at the front door in the rain and then offered to put my plane in the hangar until the storm passed. The women in the front office greeted me, I was given access to the courtesy car to go get something to eat. The facilities were very nice and clean. Above all, there was no charge for the car or putting the plane in the hangar. If I am ever back in the area American Aviation is where I will park my plane.

I landed here on my LSA on Memorial Day for fuel from a day trip from Cedar Key and enroute back to Miami (KTMB). After fueling and taxing back for departure I got a flat tire. There were no mechanics around due to holiday. Since I had a spare tube and all the tools all I needed was an air pump and some help in lifting the wing so I could remove the tire. Justin (lineman) from American Aviation went out of his way to help out and even stayed beyond 6pm when they closed until I had changed the tire and was ready for departure. He let us use the shop where we were able to get some wood to serve as a jack, let us use the air pump. This is the type of service you just don't find in many other FBO's. Outstanding service. We will sure recommend this FBO to others......

From W. Dill on 29-Sep-2010

Made an unexpected stop in KBKV due to weather. I was met by a lineman who parked me right in front of the door. He was very professional and polite. The inside was very clean and the woman behind the counter was just as helpful. They do not have any food on the field / or walking distance but will give you menus for places that deliver. I was very pleased with my stop, and I will be back! Overnight fee ($10 for a single) is waived with fuel purchase.

From Bruce McGregor on 08-Sep-2010

First rate fuel stop. Lineman met and chocked airplane, took fuel order and promptly fulfilled it. FBO building is attractive and has all the services. Prices are quite competitive for such a comprehensive facility.

From Mike Rossum on 12-Jun-2010

Great service for refueling JUSTIN the lineman even remembered my name from previous stops. First class Flt planning room and wife liked the bathroom. Even first class fuel statement printed up. Easy in and out as well. Great airport to practice LPV approaches to Rwy 27, min traffic
