I had the most fun learning to fly with Bartow Flying Service. Wonderful people with great CFI's. Jeff, Rick, Bill and Diana are very wonderful instructors and I would highly recommend to anyone looking learning to fly to try Bartow Flying Service. Best of luck to Diana as she leaves for the military. From the line guys to the office staff, I feel like I have made friends for life. Lots of thanks to Dave in the tower for tolerating my radio ramblings while learning the proper radio procedures. Thanks to everyone for everything you have done.

Flew into Bartow, Tower was nice and polite. Self-serve fuel was easy and a good price. Walked into the FBO to get oil, stood at the counter and waited for the staff to notice I needed help, no "May I help you?" or even a "Hello." I wasn't sure if they worked there or were customers because I saw no uniforms or name tags. Finally got my oil. The museum was very nice, restrooms are spotless, the lineman gave us a ride back to the aircraft, and he was helpful. Overall good FBO but needs some customer service work behind the counter.

We were on the huge ramp from 4/20-4/27, Excellent line service and fuel prices. First class terminal with friendly helpful people, both at the FBO and Enterprise car rental offices. Management as stated by another pilot, waived tie down fees for Sun N Fun attendees. I thought that support for GA was "above and beyond" that which could be expected. I tried to pay TD but was refused. Thanks for your support. Best Wishes..

My wife and I stopped overnight for a day at Sun and Fun. We received first class treatment by line service personnel, great fuel prices, a cap, free tie down and friendly service in a great FBO. We'll be back

From Bo Boggs on 08-May-2009
Our bird (N594LB) stayed here Wed-Sat while we attended SnF. They gave us ball caps and waived all ramp fees for SnF attendees. They also suggested the self-serve pumps rather than push the full serve truck. Thanks BFS.

We flew into Bartow during Sun-n-Fun and it turned out to be a great alternative to Lakeland (if you arrive when LAL is closed for air show).. Great fuel prices too.. Rental car was there waiting and restaurant was OK too (except for breakfast which, unfortunately, was horrible).

From Shannon Sell on 20-Apr-2009
Nice airport, Great Tower people, Fantastic new terminal, but FBO seems to lack a little. Best Fuel Prices anywhere Restaurant was closed (Tuesday), no Courtesy Car. Could not believe a towered airport and nicest facility around would not have courtesy car to go get something to eat. Would go back for the fuel any day though.

From Malcolm Dickinson on 20-Apr-2009
Incredibly cheap fuel (self-serve available 24/7), and a beautiful FBO building with sparkling bathrooms, flight-planning room, snooze room, and a restaurant! What more could you ask for?

From Jerry Green on 25-Jan-2009
We were at Bartow for a week. It was excellent in all respects. Rental cars, drivable onto the ramp for loading and unloading, prompt service, good fuel price, and food at the restaurant is fine. We will be back.

From Mike Dwyer on 08-Jan-2009
Nice little restaurant in the new terminal building. Wifi hotspot too. Very friendly FBO with the best fuel prices around!

From Carl Simons on 08-Dec-2008
Was recommended to Aircraft Engineering, Inc. for turbo repair for my c310. Bill Turley [pres.] provided outstanding service, and would not accept payment! Had me on my way in less than an hour! Obviously excellent mechanic. FBO also very friendly and happy to walk me thru the self-serve. Bartow ranks with the best.

From Jeff P. Russell on 23-Apr-2008
Terrific line folk. We made a quick fuel stop and away we went. Great assistance and attention. A top-notch facility.

From Glenn de Sena on 26-Sep-2007
The new terminal building is very nice, and the folks at BFS were very friendly. Great place to stop for a bite to eat and fuel up.

From Marco Echeverry on 26-Jun-2007
Flew in for Sun-N-Fun AOPA day with my great friend Axel Grau and his son. What a great experience! As soon as we landed, the golf cart was waiting to guide us to our tie down spot and take us to the terminal. They tied us down by the time we deplaned. The new building is very nice and our rental car was ready. Returned at midnight, dropped off the keys at the restaurant and walked out to our mighty Aztec. Great experience and we'll be back!

From Marilyn Friedman on 22-May-2007
Bartow has a brand new terminal building with a great little restaurant. A group of 11 pilots from Naples flew there on May 19 to try the restaurant for lunch. The food was good and the staff was very accommodating. One of our pilots broke his glasses and the FBO staff helped him with the repair. I would recommend a stop if you are flying through Florida.

From Brian Kilpatrick on 15-Apr-2007
Flew in 9 April 07, the FBO is now located East or left of the tower. No one answered the radio when I landed so lucky for me I parked in front of the terminal and inside was Bartow Flying Service. I flew in and out a few times during the week and everyone is very pleasant with good service. I did get sucked in however with the fuel. They were advertising 3.30 or .40. The day before I was leaving, I showed up to fly and they raised the price 30 cents. I think it was because of all the Sun-N-Fun traffic. If I had only known, I would have topped off the day prior. Oh well! I would certainly utilize Bartow again, very good experience and nice new facility with a restaurant.

Several months ago I stopped in for fuel. The SS pump was inop. I taxied to FBO expecting fuel from the truck to be at SS price, but I was wrong. I had to purchase fuel because I was very low. I have not been back since.

I checked the 100LL price on AirNav this morning around 10AM and found it to be $2.90 as it had been for several days. When I arrived there around noon, the price was $3.20. It is now listed on AirNav as $3.20. My experience otherwise was nominal. Little traffic, pleasant tower communications, normal self serve fueling. They have an attractive new terminal.

From Jerry Green on 02-Mar-2007
New building is very nice and has all the services you would want. Enterprise rental car drops off car at the airport and picks it up from there. (The car they gave us had almost zero fuel. Not the fault of the airport.)

From Brent Richardson on 01-Mar-2007
I called by phone notified of my arrival, I radioed in the air. And No ground service on arrival. I parked and shut down. 10 mins later Marge and so-called line guys no ids, uniforms, introductions?? or anything and they were trying to tow my aircraft without my permission and without the proper towbar or anything. Only threats to call the FBI got Marge out of my face and away from my 6 million dollar aircraft. One of those city jobs for life places. Avoid at all risk. She is probably still there bossing pilots around and just wishing she could fly one.

Response from Chris Hendrix, FBO Manager, Bartow Flying Service
Brent, I'm confused - you sent us an email the day after praising the FBO and the service you received.

From Frank Dupuis on 19-Feb-2007
Chose Bartow because I thought it might be close enough to south Orlando (it wasn't its an hour with the traffic). Also because the gas was cheap (2.90 for self serve).FBO just moved to a new building that is 1/2 mile from the transient line and with self serve in between. The new FBO is not setup yet. We had to wait an hour for a rental car with no place to sit. Crew lounge was full of corporate pilots. Still a cheap gas stop.

From Ted Striker on 07-Jan-2007
No problems here. Although I've always stayed during Sun'n Fun, good service and facility. Never even been charged a tie down. But not sure if that is the year round policy. Some airports waive that during Sun'n Fun.
