Landed at Bartow for 6 days at Sun N Fun. The usual great reception by friendly staff. Enterprise had our reserved rental car immediately available. And tie down was not charged for Sun N Fun week!! A/C battery died at the SS fuel station, A/C was towed to a maint shop, which was open on Sunday!! Got a jump start from the very friendly shop owner. Great Sun N Fun airport, which I have used for several years.

It’s a shame the restaurant and tower are closed. Nice busy GA airport. Facilities are top notch. Line service got confused on which tanks to fill on the airplane as per the fuel order and (thankfully) had enough sense to stop what they were doing and wait until I got there to finish filling the plane. Wish they would have called me instead of waiting, but I can appreciate stopping when something wasn't right. Had the rental waiting for us and treated us very well with the FBO building being very nice.

Response from Chris Hendrix, FBO Manager, Bartow Flying Service
Our control tower is open again Monday thru Friday 7:30AM- 3:30 PM.

Landed at Bartow airport on 3/27/12 for a week at Sun N Fun. I agree with everything the previous writer said. Bartow Flying Service does an excellent job in support of pilots who fly in for Sun N Fun.

Flew in to Bartow for Sun 'n Fun and it could not have had a more pleasant experience. Linemen were waiting upon our arrival and marshaled us to a parking spot, then helped us unload the airplane into a waiting golf cart for a ride to the terminal. The rental car was there waiting when we arrived and in addition to being able to buy our tickets to the show right at the FBO, they even threw in a free T-shirt. All of this service for $0 tie down fee and no pressure to purchase fuel, though we did fuel up. We also flew over to LAL one morning and while waiting for the fog to lift had breakfast at the terminal restaurant. Food was good and prices were reasonable. This is a first class operation and I would highly recommend you stop in and see for yourself.

Great service, super place to eat and good price on fuel. This will be one of my regular stops while heading to South Florida or the Bahamas.

We stopped at KBOW for their very competitive self-serve fuel price and found one of the best airport restaurants in Florida now that The Stanford Inn has taken it over. It is remodeled, the food portions are huge and tasty, and my vegetarian wife rates the salad bar as "very acceptable!" This will be a regular stop for us, especially since the airport infrastructure has also been updated and the self-serve pump is well located near the terminal and kept maintained.

Great facility, very clean, large restaurant with great view of runway and outside seating, very reasonable prices. Staff at FBO and rest very friendly and accommodating. Self-service gas was $4.60 this week. Tower has restricted hours closed on weekends.

Spent a week there. The staff was professional and courteous. They brought my rental car out on the tarmac and loaded my bags for me! Fuel is reasonably priced and the terminal was clean and had great old pictures and artifacts. The restaurant looked good, but did not get to try it.

Fueled up for $4.45 a gallon SS. Then went and ate at the new restaurant in the terminal, was very impressed. Would highly recommend!! Will be open for dinner soon also.

Flew in today at noon to try the new restaurant. As always, the staff was courteous and attentive; the facilities were impressively clean. The restaurant serves delicious food! Good service and good prices. The entire dining room has a view of the runways and of the planes parked right outside. There is also some table’s outdoors.

I base here, the service is always good and friendly. And GOOD NEWS! A new restaurant has opened "Runway 9-27 Air Base Bistro". I tried it out today and it is very good, good food, good service, and friendly. They are open 7-3 daily, and serve breakfast all day, planning to open in the evenings later on. It is owned by the same gent who owns Stanford Inn Bed & Breakfast and Tea Room in Bartow so it should be well managed. The menu says if you overnight in Bartow and want the Inn they will provide transportation! It's in the house used in the movie "My Girl". So come try it out! There is still only one controller in the tower though, 7-3:30 M-F. Hope getting him some help will be the next step!

I fly in a few times a year. Flew in last Friday and as always the FBO staff was attentive and friendly. The terminal and restrooms are always sparkling clean. The little museum has plenty to see.

Flew in for lunch... But the restaurant is CLOSED. New owner wanted. Bummer, one of my favorite places to fly in to eat. Next closest restaurant is 3 miles. No crew car. Still great self service gas prices, friendly FBO, and nice WW2 museum in the terminal building.

Flew in for lunch today with a local flight of 3 airplanes from Venice. Friendly and helpful linemen and a sparkling clean terminal building. The restaurant offered an all-you can-eat buffet of homestyle meatloaf and chicken with all of the side dishes and a salad bar for $7.95. Highly recommended.

Arrived Bartow for Sun N Fun on 3/29/11. As previously experienced, the facility & service was excellent. Again, tie down fees were waived for S N F attendees. That is providing "above and beyond" support for GA. Our airplane was tied down to cables vs hard points, not the best in strong winds. The airplane was turned 90 deg by the wind. The C-172 tied down adjacent broke loose and landed on its top behind our airplane. How it missed our airplane is a miracle. I will always land at Bartow for Sun N Fun.

I flew into Bartow for Sun N Fun this year as I have in the past and cannot say enough good things about this FBO. This FBO is among the best one or two that I have ever used! Despite having no electricity after the severe storm that hit during Sun N Fun and with more storms on the way, everyone at this FBO did whatever they could to accommodate the needs of all of their customers. This is the place to park for Sun N Fun or when traveling to the area in regards to service, facilities, fuel prices, etc. The level of service at this FBO is impressive. Try them out and you won't be disappointed.
