Landed here in the middle of a ferry flight from SAT to CYYJ in a Navion. Facilities are average/good but the flight-planning computer didn't have the Internet access working. Self-serve pumps are easy to use. Watch out for skydiving operations close to the field on the weekends.

Stopped in during the monthly EAA breakfast to buy fuel. In the past fuel price was discounted during the breakfast. When I looked at the receipt I noticed the price was not discounted. Asked Ray about this and he said the discount is not longer offered. He explained that this is due to new airport management; Steve Hulland is no longer the AP manager.

Stopped for overnight on long cross country. Very Helpful staff gladly paid full service price in the heat. Stayed at the Holiday Inn which was nice, but trains blasted through close by blowing their horns loudly seemed like every 30 minutes all night long, didn't get much sleep. Thought I was in the "My Cousin Vinny" movie.

Perfect place to stop, fuel, and rest. I felt right at home. Well done folks!

Steve, the airport manager gave us a ride to the Holiday Inn at 9pm in the evening and was very hospitable. The city is lucky to have this former Marine taking care of their beautiful airport. Easy parking, cheapest fuel between Custer, South Dakota and San Diego. Stayed overnight on the trip out March 9th and plan to pass through on the way home in May 2011.

A great place to grab some fuel. Easy in and out. However, there are 2"-3" cracks in the parallel taxiway about where the lettering is so you experimentals with 4" nose wheel tires be careful.

Used SS fuel service on 9/20/2010. FBO, terminal, and fuel pit are all convenient and well appointed. ASOS reported calm wind, we chose RWY 05 due to another aircraft using it for departure. Landed with about a five-knot tailwind, despite the ASOS report. Double check the ASOS with the windsock!

I purchase J-A fuel here several times a month. These guys are great! Always freindly and ready to help. THANK YOU!

If you want a crappy gas stop, stop here. The self-service pumps work as expected and are easy to locate, but that is where the good ends. Try to get the FBO attendant off his butt or provide assistance, good luck. The flt planning room was being used for some sort of ground school so no access to a computer or other planning/flt update information. The FBO attendant could not care less and offered no alternative. I will not make this mistake again.

From David McNeill on 27-Jun-2009

Arrived this morning for the fly in breakfast. I called yesterday to confirm the event was on and was informed that the fuel prices would be discounted $.15 for the fly in. I arrived at 0650 for the breakfast @ 0700. I decided to fuel first and did. The SS station had not changed the fuel prices. When asked (0659 by the FBO clock) they replied that it was not 0700 yet. Seems a little CS to me. If you want the discount, don't arrive at the pump a minute before 0700 or a minute after 1000.

Response from Steven R. Hulland, Airport Manager, Casa Grande Municipal Airport
Mr. McNeill, the CGZ policy is to set special fuel discounts at the time posted. However, if you arrive early, purchase SS fuel before the discount period and attend the event, we will gladly provide you Full Service fuel, with the same posted discount per gallon, during your next visit. Just remind us before you depart the event so that we may make a note to our line crew. Our goal is to always provide our customers (pilots/owners/friends) with the best service possible in a fair, equitable and enjoyable manner. Stop by and say hello the next time you visit CGZ and I will fuel your airplane and give you the discount.

Flew in at sunset. The traffic wasn't nearly as bad as people said it was. There was 1 guy on the ILS and 1 in the pattern. Spent the night on the ramp, great weather! Omniflight guys were REALLY nice! and cool to hang out with. Cheap gas never hurt anything either.

Can't beat the cheap self-serve gas! Nice and adequate facility, good flight planning room. No crew car, but the friendly line man did tell me about the great on-field restaurant at Eloy (E60).
