Stopped for weather 17 JAN 2011. Line guys helpful. Gwen, behind the desk, very helpful. Arranged TAC Air rate at Wingate hotel. No extra fees of any kind.

Flew in a Cessna 172 on 11/1 and asked for a top off while we went for lunch. Upon returning we found a pool of fuel under the aircraft and even 20 mins after being filled up there was still fuel pouring down the wing. When I asked the lineman what happened he said "well you said to top it off" and yes I did indeed... However not fill it up so much that top half of my wing becomes covered in fuel and then creates a waterfall of fuel behind the flap. I understand the occasional " over top off" and expansion of fuel... But this was absurd! Then they proceeded to charge me for the entire fuel amount (even though a lot of it went straight into the ground). The lineman never brought towels to help contain the spill or provide an apology... Just tried to justify their actions. We will be trying the other FBO next time around...

I stopped at 8:30 pm and was directed to park by the front door. I was met by three very helpful line guys who escorted my friend’s car to the plane and loaded my baggage in the vehicle. They proceeded to tow my C172 and tied it down. The gal at the front desk said there was no parking fee and since I am buying gas no "airport" fee. Wonderful!!

I've now visited all TAC Air's in my 30 yrs as a GA traveler/pilot. Nice facility, helpful and a ready courtesy car for lunch, as always. New to this TAC Air visit was a $10 parking fee!!

Response from David Edwards, Marketing Director, TAC Air
The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority charges a $10.00 "parking fee"; TAC Air is required to collect and remit this fee to the Airport. This is not a TAC Air fee. For more answers to your questions regarding the Airport's parking fee, please visit http://www.chattairport.com/www/docs/4/ to contact the airport authority with your concerns.

I have given TAC Air the LAST dollar they will ever get from me. Was flying over KCHA in a C172 and began feeling sick. We landed and pulled in for about 30 min to use the rest room and regroup. Didn't even drink any of their water. Upon leaving, the lady behind the desk says, "Twenty dollars please!" $10 "parking fee" and $10 "facility fee", for using the bathroom? Are you kidding me? Didn't know the new Wilson Air was open, but you bet I will NEVER step foot in any TAC Air again!

Response from David Edwards, Marketing Director, TAC Air
The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority charges a $10.00 parking fee that all FBOs on the field are required to collect and forward to the airport. Facility use fees at TAC Air are competitive and are waived with a nominal fuel purchase, which is a common industry policy.

Stopped in for fuel during a trip between HOU and IAD and we were treated very well by the staff at TAC North. They provided us with a quick turnaround on our fuel and great hospitality during our wait. Will definitely plan to return next time we are in the area.

Stopped in unannounced with 421 for fuel and lunch and had good service. Fuel price was reasonable, and they had several late model courtesy cars available. $10 landing/parking fee was assessed for the airport authority - This is NOT a TAC Air fee, but they are the ones who collect it.

From Dale Read on 16-Jun-2011

Stopped for a few hours to allow storms to clear out. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Late model courtesy car provided to obtain dinner while waiting. Would highly recommend making use of this FBO.

From Jeff Mackey on 30-Nov-2010

Landed IFR in the rain to top off the tanks, was on the ground 24 minutes ONLY to get gas and was still raped with a $10 "landing fee" by Chattanooga for buying high dollar fuel. FBO was good, airport authority is very anti GA. Pick a different airport.

From Jeffrey Bassett on 02-Oct-2010

We stayed 3 nights in Chattanooga, TAC Air did a wonderful job - helped with bags, rental car, great clean facility - good people. Yes, $10 fee - worth it in my view.

From Chris Stelly on 27-Sep-2010

Nice new facility. Had to overnight due to wx. Purchased fuel (pricey!) and still charged $10 fee. This fee is supposedly assessed by the airport and I can't understand why, Chattanooga is not THAT nice of a place (nice, just not nice enough for a landing fee!). If you want cheaper fuel try 9A5 21 miles to the south.

Stopped in just before Christmas to pick up a relative and return to ATL. I was there for about an hour and bought $175 worth of fuel and still got stuck with that ridiculous $10 fee. Won't be going back. I wrote a letter to the city airport authority with no response. Do yourself a favor and go to Dalton, GA where the city appreciates GA business.

Stopped in for fuel and an overnight stay. Good customer service. TAC Air CSR set us up at the Hampton Inn, probably the best deal in town. (Make sure you verify you are getting the TAC Air rate at the hotel though, we almost didn't.) We come from a similar size town, so ramp and fuel prices seemed normal. Good line service. They met us with a golf cart to haul bags, and helped put a cabin cover on the aircraft.

Stopped for fuel and dinner and used the courtesy car. Quick turn around for us, staff was very friendly. $10 landing fee charged by airport, not FBO, but service and convenience are worth it.

From Mike Ciholas on 12-Mar-2009

Not a whole lot of options for airports or FBOs when flying into Chattanooga. TAC Air was good service; there is a $10 fee (apparently goes to the airport, not TAC Air). The only weirdness is that they will give you a GPU for free, but wouldn't let me start both engines on it, just one. Caught me off guard, as I never had that happen before and not something to argue about when you have one running on the ramp. Fuel is high. Did let me borrow crew car twice, which was very helpful.

From Joe Ludwikowski on 21-Feb-2009

After getting a rental car to go into town and buying 30 gal of fuel, I still got stuck with the $10 ramp fee. Not coming back if I can help it. Do yourself a favor and go 20 minutes to the NW at KRNC (McMinnville) and get the cheapest fuel within 150 miles.
