Was home for break in between summer sessions and rented a 172 from here. Great people, great planes, and overall a great experience. The airport is generally easy to spot if you fly in from the coast. The dip in the runway really wasn't noticeable since it is midpoint down the runway.

They have remodeled terminal building, were very nice and helpful in getting a hotel for the night.

I want to restate the previous warning about the dip/roughness halfway down this runway. It launched my Mooney at way below flying speeds on both my landing runout and takeoff roll. There's a flight school booth just inside the FBO. I have to remember to ask them next time how they teach to handle this.

Be aware of a big dip in the middle of the runway. It may get you airborne quick or relaunch you after landing. I guess the locals know about it because it's been there a few years.

I parked my plane for two nights at CLW; with the purchase of fuel I was charged for only one night's parking ($15). Friendly staff, the lineman helped me push my plane onto the concrete pad surrounded by grass. Hertz delivered my reserved rental car to the airport before I arrived; I was able to drive it to the plane to make loading/unloading easier.

Stopped here for a 4 hour business meeting in Clearwater. I didn't have any problem locating the airport visually. The staff was friendly, and the Enterprise car was there. The computer for weather did not work. There was no problem picking up my clearance from Tampa approach in the air on departure.

Stopped in today to drop my son off at Busch Gardens Summer Camp and to spend the day with a business friend. FBO was clean and the staff friendly. Airport is hard to locate from the air. It's surrounded by trees. Runway paved black. Popular local pilot retreat and hangout. Fuel was reasonable. Although not advertised, call ahead and Hertz or Enterprise will have a car ready. They will pull it right out onto the ramp for you. Will be back next week to pick up Austin.

The existing (and very old) FBO building is being demolished in favor a a brand new two-story facility that should be in place within 36 months. The FBO is operating out of a couple of very large 'mobile home' type structures that are in front of where the old FBO used to be. The new facility is scheduled to have a restaurant similar to LAL when construction is completed.

We flew in on the 10th and stayed for 4 nights. The first night's tie-down fee was waived with gas purchase. These folks are great! They drove our rented car up to our plane so we could unload our luggage. The staff and crew were nothing but helpful and quite congenial. I was absolutely amazed at the number of small aircraft at this airport. This airport is less than 2 miles from our stay over which made this airport very convenient. This is the place to stay if you're going to St. Pete or Clearwater!

Flew from Winder, Georgia to KCLW yesterday. I had a problem with my airplane (I left the master switch on, battery dead.) Jeff and one of the other mechanics (sorry I didn't get his name) at the maintenance facility at the airport got me going again with a jump and a charge. I had him check out the alternator while he was at it, just to be sure it was my fault. They only charged me $24.00. Jeff even let me use his SUV to go to the EXPO (nearby restaurant) for lunch. Friendly people great service even for absent minded pilots. Thanks again guys!!
