Flew in October 8 for the day. I have been here several times before. Nice airport and town but the transportation into town this time cost $18 each way.

I've visited this airport on two occasions. The last being today (9/18/2011). It's a very nice little airport with good 24hr SS fuel prices. I'd read somewhere that a new terminal building had recently been built and was accessible during off hours via a keypad with the CTAF as the punch code. When I arrived, I walked up to the closed and locked terminal building and found a sign saying to use a keypad for after hour’s access. Unfortunately, there was no keypad to be found. A tenant who happened to be at his hangar confirmed that there is currently no after hours keypad access. So, be aware, although you can load up on fluid after hours, you can't off load any. Response from Walt Eastland, Manager, City of Williams The keypad for after hour’s access is on the front door of the terminal. The door to the ramp was erroneously locked and is accessible.

CMR/Williams is an excellent facility with a newly built and well-equipped Terminal building, self-serve fuel at a good price and lots of room for parking. All it needs is a car to get into town to enjoy the fine restaurants, all those tourist shops for browsing, and of course the Grand Canyon Railroad.

I am happy to say that the self service fuel pit is now open again at the Williams Airport. They used to be renowned for the lowest 100LL prices in the state, but now appear to be mid-high compared to others in the region. Self Service fuel is consistently 15-20 cents per gallon more than at the Prescott Airport (KPRC) to the south. No FBO and the terminal is abandoned. Taxis hard to find & no courtesy cars or personnel to help make travel arrangements. Better choices in Northern Arizona.

I am Headed to Williams for the Grand Canyon Railway. However, I had a hard time locating a taxi service online. The City of Williams Commerce Dept was very helpful and gave me these #'s for taxi services into town. Williams Express: 928-814-1634 V's Transportation: 928-308-8939 Ashfork Transportation: 928-606-6599 Response from Walt Eastland, Manager, City of Williams Current phone numbers are posted for all three taxicab companies inside the terminal and in the comment below. As noted in the airport directories, this field is unattended and not abandoned.
