Positive experience buying gas at Needles. Attendant came out to make sure I didn't have any problems operating the pump. Talked about ultralights, weather, Reno Airshow, etc. While I fueled. He couldn't have been friendlier.

Not sure why the last review was so bad. I doubt the rude person he encountered could have been from the airport or Paradice Aviation. I've stopped here many times and have always found friendly people and fuel at a reasonable price.

Dumpy airport. Nice runways, gotta give them that. Pulled up to get some fuel and the guy was such a jerk, we did not even bother. I asked him why the runway was closed and he said, "Well you must not have checked the NOTAMS." That was not the case. The KEED airport management did not properly file a NOTAM with the US NOTAM office. So, not a big deal there but the guy was still a jerk. After asking where the restrooms were at, he told me to go pee in a bush next to the hangar. I like old airports and try to give them the business, but sometimes a person wonders why there is nothing going on there.

Those guys were so nice! I showed up in a Colt and was treated like a king. I only wish I could remember the guy's name. He sure could talk, but as nice as can be! Helped me refuel, and talked to me for like 30 minutes. Not much traffic there, b/c it’s the middle of nowhere. The picture on AirNav is really good. IT’S THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT! Gas is like 60cents cheaper than Eagle (A09)

The owner helped me fuel and wingwalked me out to taxiway in 35 knot winds. Awesome service. There aren't any amenities at the airport to speak of, but Domino's will deliver a sandwich or pizza to the airport and is reasonable. There is no transportation to town - no taxi, no rentals, no nothing - and you are 7 miles from anywhere.

We had originally planned to stop at Laughlin but changed to Needles since we were looking for a faster turnaround to beat the afternoon thermals. Quick In and out, and nice prices to boot.

Pros - Cheap, self-serve fuel, no frills. Cons - no computer, no wireless and with cell phone service quite iffy, would have been nice to have a phone to call FSS. Couldn't dial the 800 numbers from the pay phone for some reason. Finally stood in the right spot and got cell service to close and open flight plans.

We made a quick stop in a Malibu last Wednesday. What Needles lacks in scenic beauty, it more than makes up for in character! The fuel is self serve, but the airport employee was incredibly friendly. The line shack is kind of depressing but they have cold water and soda for $1. No weather computer. The runways, taxiways and ramp are in very good condition.

The pump was just made into self-serve today. The owner helped/watched me do the fueling just to be sure it all worked. But it is now truly self-serve. The operations shack is not much. Restroom and a pay phone are about all there is. Taxi into town is about the only way. No courtesy car and too far to walk.
