AWESOME STOP! First time stopping at Shelby. Was on a XC from TX to Raleigh, NC and chose Shelby as my last fuel stop. FBO building is very nice and has everything you need, plus competitive fuel price. We never encountered anybody, but it was ok since we just needed some fuel, restrooms and was on our way. Will definitely be stopping again.

Landed here when alternator quit. John and his associates at Compass Aviation had us pulled in and ready to depart in 2 hours. We are eternally grateful. Stop here. 24 hr self serve at good price to boot.

Great service and facility with cheap fuel. Jack was so nice in helping us fill up the AC. One of the nicest terminals I have seen at a small airport. We will make this our midway trip stop between Ohio and Florida, these folks sure know how to show their southern hospitality.

5 stars from me. Shelby is a great little airport with great fuel prices, great customer service, and a great barbecue restaurant (the Flying Pig) a few hundred yards from the field. Check on the hours of operation for the restaurant as part of your preflight planning if you intend to eat there. And expect nothing less than outstanding customer service from the City of Shelby FBO employees. They really went out of their way to assist me while I was there, as well as afterward when they sent me the gloves I accidentally left behind.

We stopped at EHO on the way to Florida. Great customer service, wonderful terminal building with flight planning and pilot lounge. Fuel price was the lowest I've paid in years.

I wasn't sure which airport located close to the Appalachians that I should land at. One call to Jack sealed the deal for me. He was very patient, kind and helpful with my questions. When I arrived, he came out to help with the self-serve fueling, tie down and map/directions to good placed to hike. In short, he's the kind of guy you want representing your business and he does a great job for Shelby, N.C. Fuel price was very reasonable, FBO was very clean with a stocked kitchen with drinks and snacks. All in all, a great experience!!
