The EQY manager helped me with a rental car issue, it has all been straightened out. The rental car company did well there. The EQY manager, John, did very well there. EQY is a great airport to fly into.

I base my Cessna 182G here. Great airport staff and reasonable fuel prices. Reasonable monthly tie down fees. Friendly to general aviation. No parking fees for transients I believe.

Flew in on a recommendation from a local pilot in Page Land, where we waited out the weather the night before. Great recommendation! Nice facility, crew car available, easy shot into town for food. Friendly people. Reasonable fuel prices.

Monroe Airport management and Line people are the reason I moved my personal plane here from another airport years ago. They are without exception, the best that I have found.

Departed RWY 5 VFR to the S on Mon 042108 1430Z. Ceiling was closing in to the N & NW of the field. E of the field ceiling was well above traffic pattern alt patches of blue to the S. No traffic pattern/approach chatter on the radio. Decision to circle right to the S at rotation was a safety judgment call. Left into IMC/IFR conditions or circle right to the S. I am aware of arvl & dprt procedures @ EQY. After transmitting our intentions at rotation the old EQY line guy keyed up and began schooling me on local procedures. Line guy I appreciate your concern for my safety and others. I did reply back positively only to have you again start schooling me on aviation safety. Hello line guy had you been standing on the ramp and looking up instead of jabbering on the radio you would have seen the last minute choice I made was the right one. We still love you, I'll be back! CLT ATC is looking for a few good men.

I have been based here for the past 12 years. The staff at Monroe is one of the best in the USA. Added benefit: the prices are too cheap! If you have business in Charlotte, this is the place to land and fuel. About 25 minutes to downtown Charlotte. And 10-15 minutes of less taxiing and waiting on the airlines (or worse during push times at CLT). Easy north south departures. ILS and GPS approaches with wide perfect runway and taxiways. Great quick turns.

Monroe, NC airport is the place to land when doing business in the Charlotte, NC area. The FBO's "can do" attitude is second to none. When I ask for help, the answer is always "Yes!" The Manager, John, and his team are first class. And their charges are very competitive.

As others have said, a very nice facility with friendly staff. No food; soda and candy in the vending machines, and fresh coffee. Watch out for the unlit chain-link fence near the self-serve gas - it would be fairly easy to miss while lining up with the yellow stripe in front of the pumps if approaching from the right. The left (south) is clear.

Recently, John Brattain, Manager of EQY helped "jump" the car which picked me up and then loaned us his battery jumper cables for the day. Thank you very much for the warm and friendly help and gracious hospitality.

Easy in and out, under the Class B if that bothers you, they have self serve fuel and only $5 overnight. The staff is very friendly too! If you are a single piston VFR type pilot and you want an easy trip to Charlotte, this is the place for you. I have flown to CLT and have nothing bad to say about them, but this is non-towered and without the hassle and the groud delays of a major airport. I'll be back!

What a nice airport! Great facilities, very helpful staff. Hotels require a cab ride or a rental car, but a nice place to stay overnight.

Student pilot flew into Monroe from home base Craig Municipal (CRG) Jacksonville, FL on Friday 11/17/06 3.0 hrs. 300 knm long solo training X-Country to say the least. Smiling faces - cheap fuel 100LL SS - no charge for the tie down - great FBO facility - On short final my family was standing on the side of the runway to meet and greet. Awesome sight after my first real solo X-Country flight in my 1976 C172M Skyhawk II. We are planning many visits back to Monroe in the near future.

May 19, 2006 Nice little terminal at a well-maintained airport. All at the FBO did a fine job. Weather forced me to spend the night and the FBO helped out with hotel room and crew car. I sat in the FBO for several hours watching the weather; the line crew met every airplane quickly and all were very helpful.

Great airport...Great staff.... And if I'd only known that one of the characters of Airplane! Was going to be at this one of my favorite airports (see Ted Striker, Apr. 14), I'd have flown down from the Raleigh-Durham area to personally park his airplane myself. It saddens me to hear that he had such a poor experience, however, I'm hoping it was an isolated incident and not reflective of the entire staff there. I guess it could have been a whole lot worse if he'd been left to park the "707" all by his lonesome.

I flew in on April 21 for two days. I thought this was a great little airport. Very nice, small terminal. Line folks were there when I shut down. Person answered right up when I asked where to park. They even came out with a cart to assist me with the few bags I had. Same with the fuel truck; right on time and ready to go. Tie down is only $5 a night. Maybe I hit at the right time, but I was very pleased with this airport and will be back.
