Stop by on a trip from Mackinac Island to see Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (Munising). Did not need fuel since tanks were full. Jay, is the most friendly airport manager I have met. Had a nice chat and received free bottles of icy water. Nice painting on the building by his son.

Neat stop. Met by smiling airport manager, Jay. He helped with the self-service fuel, offered us a beverage on a hot day and car to go to the bar/restaurant located adjacent to airport.

Stopped in to look at an airplane. Manager friendly. Let us take his truck to McDonalds since county didn't provide a courtesy car anymore since "a pilot got in an accident with it and sued the county". Nice little airport.

Self-Serve and cheap gas but the manager came out to help us pump anyway (and have a chat). Friendly folks who seem happy to have some visitors.

I flew in to ERY last summer (Aug 2004). Although the airport is closed on sundays, the airport manager told me to call him on sunday morning, When I was on the way to the airport, and he would meet me there for fuel. I was visiting family in Grand Marais and didn't want to tempt fate on a grass strip, so I landed in Newberry. the U.P. (as they call it) is very beautiful.
