We tend to overlook our home FBOs. The fellow(s) who fuel us routinely help us muscle the airplane into the hangar. It was a cold Sunday night with a snow-covered apron and we'd have never gotten the 210 parked. They always enthusiastically offer to help. Thanks!

Upon arrival at Thunderbird, my rental car was already pulling up to the side of the aircraft before I was even out of my seat! Cynthia handled everything my Bonanza and I needed to make a meeting in downtown Minneapolis without any hassle at all. Thunderbird's service wasn't just excellent, it was among the best I have received at any FBO. I will use Thunderbird anytime I'm in Minneapolis...They pride themselves on their service and it shows!

Great experience! Service, friendly, and helpful. It's the place to stop in the frozen north, even though it was hot when were there. .30-cent discount for AirBoss cardholders. Try it, you will like it.

Once again, the crew at Thunderbird exceeded our already high expectations. Thom, Laura, Chris, and all the guys named Andrew went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and cost-effective. At the end of a long trip on a hot day the rental car was at the bottom of our airstair with the air conditioning blasting. As always, the fuel and hangar prices were super-reasonable and the service from start to finish was friendly and professional. Even ATC got in on the act, with great vectors into and out of FCM - just like back home in New York (NOT!). We'll be back, and we can't wait to see the new ramp and terminal building in 2012....

Thunderbird came highly recommended to me, so I thought I'd try them out. They were awesome. Very quick and helpful to answer questions via phone and email prior to arrival. Best gas price on the ramp. Friendly, friendly, friendly! I highly recommend.

In good weather and bad, Thunderbird has proven ever faithful to this customer. Month to month hangar rental, even for a relatively short three-month stay is exceptionally reasonable. Staff eagerly arrange rental cars through Enterprise, aircraft maintenance and provide extremely helpful local knowledge like airport snow removal. Two thumbs up!!!

I've flown a 172 and an Archer into Thunderbird several times at both their KFMC and KMIC locations. The staff there is excellent and always goes the extra mile, and their prices are probably the lowest in the Minneapolis area. It is always a pleasure to fly into Thunderbird at Flying Cloud and Crystal Airport.

I fly in and out of the cities (as we call MPLS/St Paul here in MN) regularly. The folks at Thunderbird are both very effective and MN-Nice at the same time. They take the extra step to accommodate whether it's the free water, the smiling staff behind the counter or plugging in the aircraft on the line. It's one of those FBO's you're always happy to revisit.

Absolutely outstanding service from Thunderbird from 25 - 28 Sep. I arrived a day later than planned but Laura kept in touch. I stayed several days, flying locally and got great service everyday. I look forward to coming back when the new facility is completed, if not sooner.

It didn't matter to these folks that I fly an old Piper Lance, they treated me as if I was flying a G550. This FBO isn't the fanciest FBO in the country, nor is it the largest, but it's clean, easy to access, and the folks there are absolutely wonderful. I will definitely pull into Thunderbird every time I visit the Twin Cities area.

8-20-10 was my second experience with Thunderbird Aviation and again the service could not have been better. Called ahead and I had a rental car delivered to the FBO - they marshaled me in and the rental car was pulled up to the plane before I had the engine shut off. Every member of their crew was helpful and courteous. I will always use Thunderbird - price and service - best of both worlds.

Read the AirNav comments and decided to visit Thunderbird when I stopped at FCM today. I had called ahead and informed them of what I required and they were ready for me. Nice crew car available for my stop. When I arrived back, they had fueled my plane as requested and had me ready to go. I would definitely stop at Thunderbird again on my next visit to the Twin Cities! Their service is remarkable and a must visit for those going to FCM.

July 15, 2010. After a cross-country flight from Baltimore to Portland, OR and back, this was the best service FBO in the 11 stops we made. Laura had the rental car waiting with the trunk open for loading luggage, engine running with a/c on this hot day and two cold bottles of water in the car waiting for us. She also printed out maps so we could find our two destinations in the Minneapolis. When I asked for some water to clean off the bugs, she said the line guys would do it (they did)! The building needs paint, but they're building a new facility. Inside was clean. All the staff was helpful and friendly. We'll be back.

FANTASTIC service! And VERY special kudos to Laura. We arrived shortly before some major storms (and a tornado!), and were warmly greeted. Our plane was tucked into a hangar and rental car processing was done quickly by the Thunderbird staff. We expected to depart the next day and the plane was marshalled to the flight line. However, we elected to delay our departure an additional day, and when we notified the FBO, they cheerfully returned our plane back to the hangar. When we did finally depart, there was NO CHARGE for the two days of hangaring, and no other handling fees. The office is not fancy like some other FBO's (although it is nicer inside than one would guess from the external appearance), but it is clear that the word has gone out to provide exceptional and unmatched service.

We flew in for an overnight visit to Mall of America. The line person guided us to park and the Ops manager pulled our car around and helped us load it. I forgot my laptop was in the plane and when I called to say I was returning to the airport, Laura volunteered to drop it by our hotel so we could get on with shopping. TS rolled in overnight and when I returned the next morning I found that they had put my plane in a hangar, free of charge. This is the only place to stop when flying anywhere near KFCM.

I chose Thunderbird Aviation due to the comments posted on AirNav regarding Thunderbird's competitors. The facility is clean, the service was friendly. They even apologized for not meeting me (they were very busy when I showed up). My rental car was ready and waiting. It may not be a fancy FBO. But the way they treated me will bring me back every time.

I chose Thunderbird Aviation due to the comments posted on AirNav regarding Thunderbird's competitors. Even though this FBO is primarily a flight instruction facility the service and friendliness of everyone working at Thunderbird was absolutely the best. It is not a fancy FBO. However the friendliness of the staff and being treated as a customer instead of a limitless credit card will bring me back every time.

Flew in on Feb 23 for a 2-night stay. Staff was extremely friendly and went well out of their way to help us with a rental car. There were no ramp or facility fees as advertised. Mentioned the fuel discount and received $.30 off per gallon. Facilities were clean and well kept. Will definitely visit again!

Great Service. Had 2 rent cars waiting (running and warm) upon arrival at the aircraft. Provided additional $0.30 discount for Jet Fuel as stated on the AirNav website. Very friendly staff. Will be back. Best service at FCM. Have used Elliott’s and Executive prior.

Had business in St. Paul Nov 30 - Dec 1, 2009. Picked Thunderbird Aviation for the fuel price. Called in advance to arrange a car and it was waiting when I arrived. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The office was busy with students, comfortable, warm and pleasant. They maintain a good selection of charts and pilot supplies. On departure, the plane was fueled as requested, engine heater was plugged in and everything was ready to go. Highly recommend for your trips into the Twin Cities.

Very friendly ramp handling, cheap fuel with the AirNav discount, as advertised, and no tiedown fees. The maintenance shop also gladly provided some hardware I needed, for a nominal charge. This is a very easy place to leave the plane if you are visiting for a few days.

We returned to Thunderbird after the great treatment and reasonable prices we received last year. We arrived 3 hours early, but they were still ready for us with the rental car pulled up to the plane as we parked. A line of thunderstorms came through town one evening, and they pulled in the plane for free since they had some empty hangar space. Thunderbird is right on the taxiway for the active runway, so it is easy to get to and from even though there is some construction currently on the field.

As repeat visitors to the Twin Cities in our PC-12, we've tried most of the various GA airports and several of the many FBOs. Each has its strengths, but Thunderbird at FCM is our #1 choice bar none. Thom, Chris, and the rest of the team have consistently exceeded expectations, providing big-city service at small-town prices. These days, that makes all the difference in the world. Stopped in at Flying Cloud while on a trek around the region building time for my commercial license and decided to choose Thunderbird based on past comments.. This was the best FBO we had stopped out through our whole trip that took us through Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota, and South Dakota.. An employee offered to take us to our hotel as the hotel said they didn't have enough employees to send someone to get us.. He wouldn't even take a tip from us! Not only was their fuel also the cheapest we had seen, but when I arrived home to go through the bills, they also sold charts for half of what we saw anywhere else. I will definitely choose this FBO again as a result of their courteous attitudes.

I've used Thunderbird twice in the last 6 months flying to KFCM from 3CK. Both times their service has been excellent. Whether it is arranging ground transportation, fuel, hangar/heating or getting the plane ready to leave they are prompt and courteous. Even their instructor offered help with giving flight following info once. The only thing is the paperwork seems a bit slow, especially as I am providing the info ahead of time. But that's just being picky... Great people!

What an experience! I called the day before and guy on the phone was super helpful lining up a rental car, etc... On day of arrival, we were marshalled to the pumps, red carpet (even though snowy) rental car pulled right up to the plane, warmed up with the seat heaters on! Unbelieveable! The best service I have ever had flying around the Midwest. Upon departure the plane was preheated in a hangar and towed back out to the line. We only took on about 35 gallons, but were still treated like we had a GV and 400 gallons of fuel! Highly recommend without a second thought!!!

Dropped in unannounced today in a Cessna 172. Ground crew marshaled me in, topped off my tanks (6 gallons!) and plugged in my block heater. Service was outstanding. I'll make a point to stop here next time with empty tanks.
