I was down in south Florida on vacation and looking to rent a DA20 to do some sightseeing, but couldn't find one. Was glad I didn't when I stumbled upon Florida Helicopters on AirNav and thought that looks like fun. As a fixed wing pilot the idea of trying a rotorcraft was appealing but I didn't know what to expect. Michelle took care of all that with a great ground overview before we headed out in the R22 over the glades and then down the coastline. The facility is really nice, the R22 pristine and the instruction excellent. For a first flight it was a great balance between education and fun while not being overwhelming. The finesse required on the controls was like nothing I've experienced in a fixed wing and while a rotorcraft type rating may not be in the cards for me, it's a must do experience and I'd recommend Florida Helicopters as the place to do it.
