Flew in with my student and her son in a BE55 Baron to find that Grinnell's FBO is one of the most accommodating I have been to. Fuel prices are average and service is great. We were given the courtesy car for the entire afternoon for us to tour the college. The airplane was parked in front of the FBO door when we were ready to depart. The FBO is nicely decorated with the manager extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely stop here the next chance I get.

GREAT FBO! Flew into GGI after hours with a little advance notice and courtesy car was waiting for me to take to hotel for the evening. Next day returned and had a great visit with Bill Owens, learning about Grinnell's near miss with aviation history - but got so caught up in it all, I left my Garmin 396 case and accessories in the FBO. Took a week for me to figure out where I might have left it, made a call to Bill who had found and held it, not knowing who it belonged to. Three days later, it was back in my hands - c/o Fedex, and Bill refused reimbursement for the shipping. That is SERVICE. Highly recommend.

Bill helped me when I was in trouble. I wanted to let pilots that are considering a stop in Grinnell know about what great service I received. I strongly recommend making Grinnell a great place for overnight, hamburger flight, business trip, etc. I flew in from Kansas City for a business trip in a Cessna 206 rented from Air Associates at OJC on January 20, 2009. I had starter problems when trying to depart. I called Bill, the FBO owner, and even though he had already closed, he said he would be there in 10 minutes. Bill provided external power, preheat and a heated hangar to help me. Bill called a mechanic, Doug, which flew in from a nearby airport at a moments notice. Doug quickly identified that the starter was bad. Bill offered his courtesy car to use overnight or even to drive home if needed. Bill allowed me to leave the aircraft in a heated hangar overnight. I was got the starter replaced the next day and had a great flight home.

Stopped at Grinnell for fuel on our way back from Longmont, CO. Got into Grinnell a little after 6:00 PM. Bill had already closed up, but he cheerfully turned the pump back on and fueled us up. Price was excellent ($4.85 for full service) and the facility is first rate. If you haven't stopped here before I recommend you do so. Great people and great facility.

Very nice stop. Bill was FANTASTIC--made us feel very welcome and even entertained my little girls while I checked weather. No self-serve credit card pump though.

We came in for an overnight. Bill was awesome the guy just loves aviation. Let us use the Cadillac crew car overnight, and went out of his way to put the airplane in the hangar after plowing for 16 hours. Get as much fuel as you can from here, Signature and Atlantic could take a lesson from Bill. Thanks Bill!

Fuel and food stop on our way cross-country. This has to be the nicest Fixed Base Operator we have ever had the pleasure of visiting.

Perfect! Bill Owen has created an FBO that gives you all that you need, with class, and leaves out all the unnecessary stuff. The office is funky/nifty. Love the decorations! Great service, with a smile. Wonderful courtesy car. Heated hangar available (it was minus four the morning I left, but the Bonanza was toasty in the hangar). A true pleasure. A Midwest treasure.

The FBO owner met us at the plane. The runways were perfectly cleared of snow -- almost manicured, in fact, despite a recent ice storm. The owner's heart is in GA, and it shows. In near-zero weather he helpfully plugged us in while I fetched the cowl cover. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with historic artifacts, the FBO is the absolute antithesis of the "radio shack" most people expect in Small-town, Iowa. When we inquired about a courtesy car, it was offered without hesitation. Imagine our surprise when he handed us the keys to an almost-new Cadillac Deville! For once, we didn't feel like the Beverly Hillbillies when we arrived at a nice restaurant! The owner stated that he had spent too many years dealing with broken-down cars, and vowed that if he ever owned an FBO, that he'd NEVER provide junk cars for pilots. Wow, has he kept his word! Highly recommended!
