This is a sleepy little airport, surrounded on a couple sides by residential development. I spent a week here learning to fly paragliders with Adventure Paragliding. My recommendations: arrive early. Before you go, call Pine at Adventure Paragliding to schedule a tandem flight, 970-274-1619. Call Rob at Sunlight Bikes, 970-945-9425 - he'll deliver bikes to the airport. Ride the trail to the high school, meet Pine, and go for a tandem paraglider ride down the mountain. To celebrate your great flight, continue downtown; eat at Juicy Lucy's - super steaks, and a great spinach salad. Then take a swim at the humongous hot springs pool - one pool is 104 degrees, the other is just 93. Return to the airport, camp under the wing. There's a shower in the airport office. No courtesy car, and the pump was broken - but otherwise a perfect place!
