Self serve fuel pump now placarded as "out of service". Pulled up to pump, shut down before I noticed the sign. The linemen in the fuel shack definitely noticed me but didn't bother to even come out and ask if I'd like fuel from the truck instead. Would have been easy sale for them, there were two 100LL trucks sitting literally right there.

On 5/06/08 used self serve pump at Volo. No price posted outside. At completion of fuel load, machine did not print out receipt. Went inside to the fuel shed, they seemed bothered that I asked for a receipt, and they told me the price was $5.20. So who knows what my credit card bill will say after it is posted. Let the buyer beware! Doesn't seem like the new management/ownership has their act together quite yet.

Excellent experience with Volo aviation. Any transition pains they might have been having seem to have worked themselves out. Arrived in our little Piper and were treated like royalty. Met by three line guys, car pulled up, carpet laid down, bags unpacked. Car rental went flawlessly. No problems letting us help put the airplane away in the transient hangar. Airplane was treated with respect. We pre-flighted in the hangar, and they pulled us out when we were ready to go. Excellent experience all around.

New ownership according to the line folks -- lots of rough edges. We rented a car for 2 days, were billed for 10 plus $90 in fuel (returned it full -- can a Malibu even hold $90 in fuel?).. They couldn't get it fixed for me after 5 calls; I had to track down Hertz myself. They sold me expired charts -- sadly, I didn't notice that one until airborne. Management seems to be AWOL. Line guys were friendly, in a resigned "hope this turns around" sort of way. I'd give them a few months to shake out the bugs.

Three times in the last couple of months I needed a place in the SFO/OAK area where I could land late at night, get a rental car, and buy avgas at reasonable (for California) prices. After calling ahead and trying Hayward Jet the first time, I just kept coming back! It's a small operation, but they really seem to care. The car was ready each time, a parking spot for the plane was all marked out for me, and they even arranged excellent maintenance from another provider on the field when I needed it on this last trip. Really good folks!

One of the best FBOs I've ever stopped at. While their facilities are rather limited, the line crew and overall attitude of their employees is outstanding. I wish more FBOs were like that. Thanks much!

Consistent pattern of excellent service. Friendly staff assisted in loading and unloading the aircraft, airing up tires and taking delivery of our rental car. I departed around 6:30 am and they had fresh coffee and two very nice, clean restrooms to see us on our way.

I was very impressed by Mary, the lady that is usually at the front desk at Hayward Jet Center. I recently called her to ask if they had a terminal chart for SF since I had misplaced mine. She said they were out of them but would order one for me and expedite the order so as to have it for me when I arrived for my next flight. Since the chart did not arrive in time Mary took the initiative and found one somewhere on the field and bought it and had it ready and waiting for me when I arrived. Thanks Mary! But this is not unusual for Mary. She is always ready to provide assistance whatever the issue may be...And always with a positive upbeat attitude and a smile.

Four minutes on the ramp for pax pickup yielded a $15 ramp fee. Confirmed with Brad, manager, that there is no minimum time to incur the fee. Mary at desk, resolutely stated that multiple pax pickups in the same day would each incur the $15 fee, but Brad corrected this and said only one $15 fee per day would be collected. Also, call ahead to get your pax the gate code.

Flew Cessna 172 into HWD on 04/25/07 - 04/27/07. Hayward Jet Center provided me with the best service, both parking and fuel. Enterprise delivered rental car to Jet Center and picked it up. Norhern CA controllers were very helpful on Bay Area tour. Definitely the FBO of my choice. Very highly recommended.

Flew in to HWD in my Piper Dakota for the first time 11/11/06. Hayward Jet Center provided me with the best service I've had in my 16 years of flying. Rental Cars were not available on Sunday so they provided me with a crew car at no charge! Very nice people.

I have never had a FBO take better care of me. Pulling up in my little Cheetah they still put out the red carpet. They also took me to BARD, and were waiting when I got back. If you have a choice of which airport to fly into in the SFO area, go to HWD, and definitely choose HWD Jet Center.

Top-notch service. Met me on the taxiway with a "follow-me" golf cart, helped with luggage, took me to the BART station, picked me up at BART station, etc. It just does not get better than this!

These people are absolutely fantastic, from the linesman, fuel truck driver, to the office staff and manager. I flew in expecting to pick up a friend and continue with him to Reno. Long story why he wasn't there on time, but the staff at Hayward Jet Center helped me look for him, gave me a ride to other areas on the airport where he might be and even offered me use of their van to get something to eat while continuing to look for my passenger. All this BEFORE I bought the small amount of fuel on the return trip. They even received an important fax for me. Totally fantastic and if ever in the area again, I will certainly be back. Thanks for the fabulous service and courtesies. Yes, my friend FINALLY showed up.

Great service from this FBO. Showed up and was treated with red carpet service. Nice touch even though my wife wasn't feeling well after our flight across the mountains. Let us borrow the van for a trip into town and we ended up staying the night. Great service and was very understanding of our situation and made the trip completely enjoyable for our first time in the bay area.

I based my turbo twin Comanche here for a few days. Thought it would be good to stay with an FBO with the same name as me. The guys were very helpful with parking; they even gave assistance with preflight and loading the aircraft. The bathroom and a pop machine are also very conveniently located right next to the self-serve fuel island. It would be better if they had more tie downs as they just left my plane triple chocked. I think this is one of the friendlier FBO's in the bay area and I plan to base here in the future.

I have been to HWD Jet Center twice recently. I thought the service was great because I caught them on a good day, but after this last trip, I think they have outdone themselves. Above and beyond, just customer service. Treated like royalty. Love the red candy. Great staff. Thank you all very much.

BE CAREFUL! when taxing toward the HJC fuel island. North East of the intersection of Taxiway A and C, right in the path of a plane taxing toward the HJC fuel island is a drain about 3 feet in diameter recessed in the ramp. It cost my Cherokee 180 a prop strike! It is marked with yellow paint, but not visible over the cowling if you are close and headed directly toward it as I was.

EXCELLENT! Fly my daughter from Santa Barbara to Hayward so she could go into the city. HJC facility very nice, two very clean restrooms, friendly staff. Kyra gave my daughter a ride to BART so she could get to the city. Fuel reasonable. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Definitely will be back.

The friendly staff of Hayward Jet Center went out of their way to make our stop in Hayward a great experience. Kyra met my passengers and I with a bright smile and helpful attitude. The line supervisor James was equally helpful in providing a speedy quick turn while paying attention to detail. The staff at HJC really reminded us that it is not the plush or luxurious facilities that make or break and FBO it is the friendly customer service oriented staff. While their building is not luxurious it is very clean and well maintained. Thanks again and see you soon!
