Our experience at this airport was not favorable. The fuel is extremely expensive and the facilities are very poor.

Glad I read previous posts about poor fuel service. If fuel isn't readily available, their symbol should be changed on the sectional. Circled area made several calls, no one on frequency and couldn't spot that fuel truck on the ground so we pressed on another 15 miles and fueled up at KGLH.

Stopped in on a ferry flight from NC to TX (J-3). Was bingo on fuel due to 87I being underwater at time. "Emergency" and "After Hours" contact numbers on door of FBO were unanswered despite numerous calls (still haven't heard back from either after a month or so!). Airport tenants were able to access fuel truck and provide some of their personal fuel. Thank God for friendly airport folks as the FBO was worthless.

For those of you not familiar, this was an old training base. Never has had three runways, but very identifiable by sectional and air cross-reference. There's no fuel to be had here unless you catch the crop dusters of valley air around, so be aware of that. Other than that, you can land just about anything on this runway.

Don't get fooled by the sectional. Only the long runway is open. There is no SS fuel. And the FBO is closed on Sunday. (Didn’t help me any)
