Landed to top off with fuel due to weather. Operator helped us with self serve Jet A for 2 helicopters. Very friendly. As a note - we were unable to reach San Angelo FSS either on the ground or airborne to get an IFR clearance. Once we received our clearance over the phone, we were climbing through 3500 ft before we could talk to Houston Center.

Had to land at Junction (Kimble County Airport) due to loss of alternator on a Saturday afternoon...Got help from Bill right away and he referred me to Sam Thiele, the local mechanic who was on the field. There were no rental cars at Junction, but Sam drove me and my family to nearby Kerrville for a car. Saved us!

ON 1-5-11 traveling from Las Vegas to Houston, we were forced down because of t-storms around home airport (DWH) and would normally stop in a major town i.e. Austin or San Antonio, but both were below my minimums for landing. So, stopped in Junction and glad we did - fuel was 4.25 per gallon, Bill (airport manager) drove my wife and I to dinner, picked us up, weather in Houston did not improve, so Bill offers to hangar our plane, drives us to a motel, picks us up the next morning - all for a thank you. JCT will be a regular stop on any westerly trips for N1322L.

I landed at KJCT on December 22 because weather at my destination (Del Rio) had gone below minimums, and I needed sort out how to continue to make an important meeting that evening. No rental cars at KJCT; closest was at San Angelo 1 hour west. In the end the County Judge, Delbert Roberts, loaned me his car to complete my mission, returning it the next day. Where else could this happen except west Texas? Bill Davis, Airport Manager, also delivered and picked me up at a local restaurant for lunch- These folks are great! Also good gas prices...

Flying a 172 from Dallas to Big Bend NP. Stopped over in Junction late in the evening. Nice runway and plenty of tiedowns. The airport manager, Bill, who will be 85 today was exceptionally nice, friendly and helpful. He called and found us a motel. He gave us free transport to the motel and even stopped off to let us get some delicious BBQ on the way at Lum's. The Legacy Motel was clean and reasonable, $43 for pilots! The next morning we walked across the street to Sunshine Cafe and had the most delicious breakfast of grits, pancakes, omelets and bacon. Called the airport and Bill picked up within 7 min. We would highly recommend a stopover in Junction. It was deer season and deer were everywhere.

Stopped in again on an eastbound ferry flight. Bill Davis gave me a ride to a good motel (there are several near the airport) and picked me up in the AM for an early departure. Several good places to eat within walking distance from the motels. JCT is a great mid-continent stop when crossing the country in a light plane. Low priced fuel too.

Just got home today from Yuma AZ. Got dark on me last night, so I had to land in Junction. I met Bill Davis the airport manager. He gave me a ride to a nice motel that didn't smell like curry. He came and picked me up this morning gave me coffee and good conversation, sold me two quarts of oil, (cheap $4.50 a quart), helped me fuel up and sent me on my way. Thank you Mr. Bill..

Weather forced us to leave aircraft on field Sept.19th Was greeted by Bill, very nice guy. He had offered to give us a ride to town. We went to LUMS BBQ we really liked it. I was plesantly surprised when I went back and Bill had put my airplane up and would not accept payment. Thanks Again, I will be back.

Stopped in on Feb 17 while ferrying a 172 to the west coast. Stayed the night at the Legends Inn and couldn't have had a better time. Nice small town to walk around and work up an appetite. The previously mentioned Lum's BBQ is the place to eat in Junction. Bill, the airport manager, will give you a ride. He was gracious enough to drop me off at, and pick me up from my motel the next morning. Oh, the 100LL is cheap too.

A visit to Junction assures small town hospitality and a willingness to help out just because that is the way it should be. If you stop by, you are going to want to make it your home airport! Thank you Mr. Davis for watching over my plane until I could return to pick it up.

Stopped in Junction on the way from Florida to Los Angeles. What the airport lacks in amenities is more than made up for by the courtesy of manager Bill Davis. I would not hesitate to stop here again.

Flew to this airport and Phil Davis, who is the full time airport resident, treated us like royalty. I had previously spoken to him by phone and when he heard our CTAF announcements and saw us land, he met us at the airplane (even before we were out of the airplane) and took us to town for BBQ at "Lums." He picked us up again and drove us back to our airplane. Very friendly. Great BBQ. --

Recently, my husband had a mechanical problem and landed at Junction. He had to work on the plane and we cannot say enough about the hospitality of Mr. Bill. He helped with transportation, parts, tools, and info. etc. Basically, he did everything he could to help us. He was fun to talk to and we truly appreciate him. We had fun with the mom-cat and little kittens too! Thanks, Mr. Bill!

We landed at JCT when a strong headwind and turbulence thwarted our onward flight to our original destination. Airport Mgr. Bill Davis gave us a ride to the new Best Western, which we chose to get a fast Internet connection. He gave us his cell so we could get a ride back to the airport with him the next morning. He was very helpful and accommodating, and his fuel was among the lowest priced fuels we saw on our trip. Bill is known and well-liked all over western Texas in the aviation community and takes personal pride in and responsibility for the safety and functionality of his airport.
