The Staff at the GA Terminal were very helpful and very courteous. They were able to give me a ride to the area for the Airtrain to get the subway. However a word of the wise, DO NOT land or depart between the peak times of 3pm to 10pm. First you will pay a premium surcharge for arriving or departing during that time, and you will be in the line on the taxiway to get to the terminal. Pay extra attention to JFK Tower and Ground. Also, get familiar with the field and how to get to the various taxiways. They will give you progressive taxiway, but you may have to wait, before they will allow you on the taxiway (even late at night). Also it is a good idea to call JFK clearance (VFR or IFR) prior to starting up, (yes even late at night) as they can keep you on standby for 10-15 minutes till they give you your info.

Met an arriving airline passenger on a Saturday morning in March 2008. Great ATC handling, very helpful and friendly PANYNJ service to pick up the passenger at the terminal, long wait in line for departure (48 mins. from engine start to takeoff). But, you can sit in traffic on the Van Wyck for that long, too.

GA and Port Authority provided kind and excellent service. Slots no longer needed since beginning of 2007 makes it even easier. Courtesy shuttle to and from terminal through GA helped make a quick turn around. Landing fees less than greedy Signature locations. Very nice experience.

After 3pm, arrival/departure slots are required, and there is an additional fee. The airport layout and the professionalism of the controllers make for an efficient operation. We left the airplane overnight and discovered that to do so required parking in a different area than the drop-off section. It is best to let the Port Authority know if you are RON when taxiing in so that you will not have to move the airplane (against the flow) later.

Busy, busy airport -- not so busy GA Terminal. Flew in this morning to pick up an arriving Delta passenger, and was pleasantly surprised. As instructed, he called over on arrival and was picked up in the courtesy van, and was comfortably waiting for me to come in. The fuel price shown here for 100LL is incorrect (should be $5.95), so you might want to call before planning on filling up at that price. The downside to JFK is getting out -- took a 30 min taxi to have my turn (and that was at a quiet 10am).

Flew in and out IFR and IMC after 10pm one evening to pick-up friends, and in and out the next day again, VFR around 2:00pm. ATC and Port Authority staff, friendly and efficient. Landing fee for SR22 (Cirrus) $25, parking $25 per 8 hours (first hour free). Operations between 3:00pm and 10:00pm are charged an extra $100.

Landing fee $33.00 for C340. Parking fee $25.00. Peak hours operating fee $100.00. Other than the high fees it was a pretty good experience. Be advised, there is no pilot planning room or computer for weather briefing, only a pay phone.
