Yes, the fees are not published in the AFD. So are many other airports I stop at and it seems that I'm having a hard time staying as light as possible due to short hops and unplanned minimum fuel purchases in a plane that holds 1000 lb of fuel. JZI is good enough that I'll be back happy. Great facility, etc. I understand Mr. Jensen's frustration. Maybe all pilots need to call prior to arrival anywhere just to check on fees. Of course I happily endorse supporting the airport that gives me a courtesy car for free! I'll buy fuel, car gas, and a bag of chips [figure of speech]. Keeping fee notices above the table will keep people happier and I think I can speak for several with that last sentence. To the manager: What is the standard for FBOs to report applicable fees? ...And on a separate note. I borrowed the courtesy car and went to MELVINS BBQ. EAT AT MELVINS!

Flew in for a day visit to Charleston and wanted an alternative to CHS. Lineman met us at the plane with our rental car and helped secure the airplane. Modern, clean facilities and staff extremely helpful with directions and recommendations for places to eat. SS price is less than full service so at least you have an option. Great location and will use on future visits.

Flew in for a few days to tour Charleston. Waited too long to book a rental car, and all the ones based here were taken. The lady at the desk went above and beyond in getting one delivered from the city and getting the fee waived. Line staff met us at the plane with the car and were very helpful. FBO was modern, clean, and well equipped. On departure, CHS approach instantly picked us up and was giving me IFR clearance before we reached 1500 ft. The new SS fuel price is what brought me here, but after this great experience, I will be back.

Flew into KJZI on 6/5/13 in heavy rain and two lineguys meet us with large umbrellas and were very accommodating. The lady at the front desk was Shannon who was also very accommodating. When we left KJZI a few days later, since the self-serve fuel was not working she had the fuel truck provide me with fuel at the price of the Self-Serve. They will also work with you on over-night parking and other expenses based on the amount of fuel purchased. Would highly recommend Atlantic Aviation at Charleston Executive. IRV

Once again had an outstanding experience visiting Atlantic Aviation at JZI. The self serve pumps have made a big difference, plus the front desk hospitality, and help with accommodation in Charleston, and first class facilities!!

Flew in with my wife in our Cherokee 140. We were directed to a park, rental car was on the ramp before I completed my shutdown checklist, and I didn't even touch a bag of ours, the crew had it before I could even turn around. I reminded them I had asked earlier about a tiedown, they moved the plane for me. Fuel WAS more than I pay at home, but I WASN'T home- and, they waived several fees since I filled up. The service was outstanding, and I felt like we were treated like kings. We will be back.... Great facility.

JZI is a typical Atlantic: pricey, but well run. If you need transportation into town, ask for a metered cab! The girl behind the desk will try to steer you toward some company that charges you $45 each way to downtown and they can sometimes take an hour after the first call. A metered (Yellow) cab from JZI to the Hampton Historic District was $23.85. Normally the taxi is there in about 20 mins. Definitely DO NOT get into a car driven by a guy named "Wally". He was pugnacious and his driving was definitely "third world"!

Stopped by here down and back NJ-FL over Thanksgiving week in a rented Saratoga. What a great airport and fantastic FBO. Great new self-serve 100LL fuel farm, runways and taxiways in great condition, and great new, clean FBO facility. Staff (from front desk to line crew to Paul, the manager) was great to work with, friendly, and helpful. Facilities were clean and comfortable to have lunch in during our stopover. Made a great suggestion for lunch delivery, which we coordinated before our departure from Florida (and which was waiting for us on arrival). And although no one responded on UNICOM, Atlantic at CHS (who did respond) gladly forwarded our request for a taxi by telephone so that a car was waiting for our passenger as well upon arrival. Will stop in again next time I'm in town.

Be forewarned!!!! This FBO charges facility fees or ramp fees depending on the size of your plane and they do not advertise that fact. You find out after you land and taxi onto their ramp. There is no disclosure on their website. This is how they bribe you into buying fuel, either way they get your money. Sneaky, isn't it?Response from Paul Aiken, General Manager, Atlantic Aviation Dear Mr. Jensen, I appreciate your feedback and apologize that you were unaware of the facility fee structure in place at Atlantic Aviation JZI before your arrival. While I am not sure of the specifics of your visit to JZI, we provide full disclose of all facility fees to any customer who calls or emails our customer service department to inquire about a trip to JZI or to make a reservation. There is a minimum fuel purchase, which will waive the facility fee for each aircraft type, and piston aircraft operators now have the option to purchase 100LL from our brand new self-service station. Feel free to contact me directly if you would like to discuss your recent visit to JZI or if you are planning a trip back to JZI in the future and I would be happy to speak with you. Best Regards, Paul Aiken Operations Manager, Atlantic Aviation JZI 843-559-2401 paul.aiken@atlanticaviation.com

Called in the day before to ask about local restaurants that were pet friendly. We had our Yorkie (TIKI) along. The young lady on the phone promised a list would be there upon our arrival. True to here word a very compressive list was waiting for us. A crew car was at our disposal and we were shortly enjoying lunch. I usually fly into CHS but never again. JZI is the best stop with two great runways and an FBO with very competitive SS fuel prices. The line guys were great the office personnel were excellent and fees were waived with the fuel purchase. The airport is 8 mile easy drive from downtown Charleston. My Columbia 350 enjoyed the smooth long runways and the huge ramp. This now the only choice for me when flying North or South.

Great service from Shannon at the front desk. Quick in and out, these guys are always nice. Plus, with the self-service gas option, this is now the most reasonably priced place vs. CHS. Will be back for sure.

Nice Facility, with a fairly new building. The overnight ramp fee was ridiculous at $160 a night for my King Air B200. They didn't even mention it when I was parking. They did wave the handling fee of $240 when I purchased fuel at a rather high price. Overall, I believe I will look elsewhere when heading back to Charleston.

Flew in on a Skyhawk yesterday for a few hours. The FBO was very clean and had a warm-southern feeling both inside and out. The FBO staff, both on the lines and behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. I was parked on the ramp for about three hours and didn't take fuel. There was no landing or handling charge. I look forward to visiting JZI again.

Facility is top-notch! Staff is courteous and professional, and reflects a demeanor you'd expect given the affluent clientele that comes through there. They're happy to arrange for a rental car and drive it out to your aircraft upon arrival. Prices are in-line with the location, services and multi-million-dollar jet traffic that frequents the facility; but single-engine owners (like me) can get discounts simply by asking. I will definitely visit again!

If you aren't flying a turbine aircraft Atlantic at JZI isn't interested in you. While the linemen are wonderful, the counter staff looks at GA pilots like they need to scrape you off their shoe. The fuel is outrageous and they just want you and your little plane to go away. Avoid JZI and stick to any of the other Charleston area airports.

I flew into JZI on Saturday afternoon 11/12/2011, and was met by two really nice linemen. They helped me get my luggage and things to the terminal. The folks inside were just as nice and very helpful. Nice place.

Stopped here for a short less than 24-hour stay. Met Paul Aiken, the GM. Paul seems to be very personable and customer oriented. He said they are working on getting a self serve avgas pump installed, but like many seemingly simple things, lots of red tape to jump through, so it could take a while he said.

Stopped in for 2 nights in my Bonanza while visiting Kiawah Island. Rather expensive but the staff was very helpful and facilities were excellent. Service facility charge of $40 waived with purchase of 20 gal of fuel. Tiedown fees were $20 a night. Hanger fees were $100 a night.

Stopped in for a weekend in Kiawah in my Bonanza. Once again, the service is outstanding. The overnight parking fee was $10, quite reasonable, and the first day was free with fuel purchase. The fuel ain't cheap, but few places are right now. The terminal is beautiful. The staff was friendly and prompt. This seems a very well run operation

A tad on the expensive side for fuel. 15 gallons to waive ramp fee for my piston single. I have no problems paying for the gas as service was excellent and the facility is top notch. Great location for visiting the local golf resorts and downtown Charleston.

Nice FBO. Staff courteous. Facility fee waived because of fuel purchase, which is a little high but expected due to proximity to Kiawah. Tie down waived because they forgot to fuel my plane. Enterprise rental cars available. The only thing negative was they charged me sales tax on my fuel, which I hadn't encountered before. Other than that, I would use them again.
