The folks at Silver Wings Aviation are awesome! I was grounded for 2 1/2 hours today due to some unforecasted thunderstorms, and was treated like royalty. One person lent me their own car to go into town. Another helped me put a bid on a Russian Mig! (Smirk!) These folks know how to run a business.

If you're headed into KLEW, Silver Wings FBO will be the perfect compliment to your trip. Jane was great, helpful and informative about the local area (Thanks for the Chinese food input Jane!) Between the big screen TV, comfortable leather couches, Internet access and that huge bathroom this place cannot be beat! Thanks for the exceptional service. When we're back into KLEW we will be staying with you!

What a phenomenal place! Comfortable, helpful, knowledgeable, experienced - like a first class hotel with supernatural instructors and A&Ps. One could never ask for more in an FBO. I have traveled across the country and have visited dozens of FBOs. Without hesitation, I can say there are none better!

Stopped for the night on 31 May due to weather. The Silver Wings Aviation Team was very helpful and arranged a rental car for me to head into town - even though I stopped right at closing time. Great IFR service from Portland Approach into and out of the field. Clearance delivery frequency loud and clear on the ground at LEW.

Silver Wings is one of the last of the old line FBOs where a visiting pilot's needs are their personal concern. Got there just before closing, but the staff made sure I was tied down, had a crew car, and made my hotel reservations at a good rate. Friendly, competent service, and reasonably priced fuel, that's all I can ask. I'll stop there every time I'm in the area.

I flew in today for a track meet (Colby at Bates) - yes there were several inches of snow on the ground but that doesn't keep Mainers down! Scott was great. He loaned us the crew car and was very helpful. I only wish I needed some fuel! Great price and great service. I'll be back!

We just completed an overnight trip to KLEW. We had heard a good report about Silver Wings so we wanted to check it out. What an awesome place! We frequent airports all over the world. We use mostly big name FBO's. Silver Wings service was first class and far superior to "bigger" places. The facilities are great! The ramp space is not huge but more than enough for our GIV. The drive up fuel was not a problem for our GIV. Scott was enormously helpful to our passengers and us. I wish all FBO's were in tune with this level of service.

Apparently the airport authority was responsible for the fee confusion: single engines burning JetA are charged as if a multi. Parking charges, highest I've ever been charged, were just as vague, which they have promised to clarify. LEW needs a tower for all the traffic, which consists only of touch and goes, or least a taxiway to eliminate a back taxi on their only useful runway. Silver Wings, which has only Internet weather [no WSI or DTN] was very cordial and credited the charges after I complained. Enterprise was awful ($146.28 for 2 days in a sub-sub-compact [smallest I've ever seen] plus drop chg)--took over an hour to get on our way and required a convoluted trip into their Auburn office. They finally pieced together a map with scotch tape, including green cake frosting on the back, of Auburn with the help of an older man who happened to be in the office so we could find the airport on our return. Map was accurate but the airport signs off 95 pointed the wrong way!

3.75 guaranteed for JetA but charged 3.80 which is not a big deal, but $20.00 for a landing fee and $30.00/night parking (no 1 night waiver for fuel) is out of line for a totally out of control airport where the touch & goes almost made me miss my IFR release deadline. The airport authority says NO landing fee for single engine and $20/nite parking...They are still researching it.
Response from Douglas Pohl, President, Silver Wings Aviation I wish Mr. Beisner's experience at KLEW had been better. KLEW is a busy non-towered airport. Mr. Beisner was frustrated by the heavy air traffic, a poor rental experience with Enterprise and the fees imposed by the Airport Authority for landing and tie down. Silver Wings has no control over those fees but following Mr. Beisner's experience, Silver Wings will no longer collect these fees on behalf of the airport. Mr. Beisner's only direct complaint about our FBO was a nickel difference in fuel price. The guaranteed fuel price is without PRIST. Mr. Beisner requested Jet-A with PRIST, which explains the difference in price. Silver Wings Aviation's fuel prices are among the lowest in the Northeast. Mr. Beisner will acknowledge that our terminal facility and friendly service was top notch. We hope he will return soon for a much better experience.

I'm a student pilot at Silver Wings and I couldn't have asked for better. The people that work there are nice and respectful. I don't know if there is a better place to learn, as well as buy gas ($4.05 100LL).

Stopped into Silver Wings for Memorial Day yesterday and they couldn't have been friendlier. They loaned us the courtesy car and gassed up our plane while we were out visiting friends. This is one place I can't wait to come back to.

Visited Silver Wings today for the first time and was very impressed. Looks like a big-city FBO! Very friendly staff. Fuel is 24/7 and cheapest price around!! New mechanic on staff - took me for a tour of the facility. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. A+++++. FBO is on the east side of the ramp. Go check them out, you'll not regret it and neither will your wallet!

Silver Wings Aviation acted as host to Third Strike Wingwalking during our participation in the Windham Rotary Derbyfest Airshow over Lake Sebago. The service which was extended to our team was absolutely stellar, specialy in light of our sometimes troublesome requirements and bizzar needs. We wish to extend our most sincere gratitude to Silver Wings Aviation for making our stay so enjoyable and for offering an above par service. Please visit them if the chance to do so arises. You will not be disappointed.

We had an awesome stay with Silver Wings. Not only were the people friendly and the service top notch, but the restoration of a landmark hangar with state of the art FBO services was well worth the visit and a must see event in the Auburn Lewiston area.

Truly an awesome stay with Silver Wings. The facilities alone are worth checking out not to mention the friendly people and outstanding service. The renovation of a landmark hangar incorporating state of the art pilot services is truly commendable. We look forward to our next visit.

Stopped by with my C-414 and was fuelled up by Mark. Received first class service and paid .19 cents less for fuel then at the competition. Also met with the owner Doug, who I found to be first rate, I'll be back every chance I get. Also the facilities were first rate.
