5/6/11, stopped for fuel, which at that time was still $3.99! I evidently got in "under the wire" as I see fuel is now $5.10. ASOS is loud and clear. The facilities are not fancy, but all that is needed is there, phone, rest room, etc. SS pump worked fine.

On a flight from Richland, WA (KRLD) to Apple Valley, CA (KAPV) on Mar. 17, 2011, stopped for fuel. It really was $3.99/gal. as advertised & the pump was more user-friendly than most, LCD was big & readable in the sun! A Mooney was making practice engine-out landings as and after I arrived, but after they left, I was the only user. Neat historic photos in the terminal & Mig 15 outside!

Self-serve fuel worked perfectly, no problem getting credit card authorization for fill up in one session. Runways and taxiways wide, clear and in excellent condition. Airport unmanned--deserted might be a better word--kind of a Twilight Zone experience. Pilot lounge has a sofa and working telephone, but single bathroom is older and needed attention. A self-serve plunger got it going again. Cold water only at sink. Don't even look inside that crumbling shower stall at the end. This place is great for fuel price/availability and avoiding crowds, but no way to leave airport.

Arrived and found as expected a nearly empty airport. Self-service fuel worked just fine, restrooms clean, and soda machine still broken. Still, a handy fuel stop with reasonable fuel prices.

Stopped twice this week for fuel; self serve worked perfectly. This continues to be a great stop for fuel with the best prices around, even though its in a quiet, and lonely desert.

I stopped at LOL for fuel on my way back to SCK from an Angel Flight Mission. The fuel machine would only approve $50 at a time ( I have never had this problem at any other avgas stations with this or any card) It would then give me 49.99 worth of Gas and then I would have to do it again. After 2 times I was 1 Gall From full so I stopped but this would have been a pain in the rear if I needed a full 52 gallons. As it was I got 13.5 gallons twice. Other than that it was the cheapes around. Be carefull when taxiing arround. There are taxiways to nowhere that if I was in a large plane I would not have been able to turn around.

Old but clean lounge. An airport in the middle of nowhere, but gas is cheap. Coke machine still does not work.

I've always liked Lovelock for a "way it was" sort of airport. It's nothing fancy. Usually it's deserted. Lately I've heard complaints by a few pilots that there is often debris on the runway. Has anyone else encountered this? Personally, I never have - unless you count the occasional tumbleweed.

Great price, best around for 100LL an intriguing place to land because of its' seeming desolation. If you don't drink coke, don't worry about the broken coke machine. The rest of the facilities are fine. Look at the WWII pilot picture collection in the office.

Nice cross-country fuel stop, but there is not much there. A small dated pilot lounge with a lot of historic pictures and plaques, bathrooms, and a phone to call for a hotel. But the pump is new and the gas is cheap!
