Automated fuel pump usually has the best prices around and far less expensive than Santa Barbara. Instructions in window of fuel pump can be hard to read so bring flashlight at night. As others have noted a request of fill up may generate a large hold on card, put in the max amount you think you will buy in gallons. Easy access to Comfort Hotel from south ramp, there's multiple food alternatives within a short walk. Restrooms in the single story building to the right of the large hangar are usually very clean. People are friendly. Great wineries are nearby as is some of the best bike riding in the world.

If you want some lunch, the walk is not far if you use the shortcut to the shopping center. It's on the southeast corner of the airport property where a gate joins the Comfort Inn parking lot with the airport tarmac. There is The Cajun Kitchen Cafe, Panda Express, Taco Bell, and KFC on the corner of Central and "H" Street, a very short walk south from the Comfort Inn.

Stopped in on 4-10-10 for inexpensive avgas ($4.40) and a tasty cheeseburger at the Texas Cattle Co. Pump worked fine. Pilot lounge was open, restrooms in OK shape. Airport was extremely quiet. A good, quick stop for gas n' food.

I recently flew my Mooney into Lompoc Airport to buy some 100 LL fuel. After inserting my bank debit card, I pressed the Fill Up button. I then bought 45 gallons of fuel with no problem. After arriving home, I went on-line to my bank and found the fuel purchase showed up as a $5000 pending debit! That's right . . . 5000 dollars! I called the airport manager and he could not speed up the transaction to show the actual dollar amount. I had to wait several days for my bank to adjust the pending debit to the actual purchase. In the mean time, I could not use my debit card for any other purchases. So, beware when using the Fill Up button on any self-serve pump.
