Great pit stop in the easy Bay Area. Controllers were very pleasant and competent. Starbucks and store across the street and the weather is better than Concord. The winds however just rip through this valley, so be prepared. $5.22 for 100LL and $6 per night.

I wouldn't say the ATC people are edgy. They seem competent and professional to me. However, you will encounter trainees who generally do a good job. Also, the controller working the tower typically will only assign landing aircraft to the shorter runway when traffic prevents assigning the long one. If you are given the shorter runway you can always state "unable" and they'll work you into 25R/7L.

The air traffic controllers are a bit edgy. Beautiful airport to fly into but be careful, as both the runways are not of the same length. GA (specially single engines) is normally assigned to the shorter one and the taxi way may confuse you if you are not paying attention.

The last comment about night flying is right on. I am a 43+yr resident of Pleasanton, and keep my Cardinal at LVK. The noise complaints are tallied each month, and are mostly from a few households in East Pleasanton right under the departure. Flying a noisy jet or warbird at night will definitely rack up lots of complaint calls. Normal GA traffic will not, but you may get the form letter mentioned below. Not a problem. This is a great airport!

KLVK does not close at 10 PM; in fact the lights are on all night. PCL for the approach lights. The letter you got is strictly political, the city sends them out to anyone who flies after 10 PM so they can tell the people of Pleasanton who want the airport to go away that the city is doing something. Just ignore it (but try to be a noise-aware neighbor/pilot to minimize this nonsense).
