Stopped at Lynchburg to visit a friend and would be on the ground for about three hours. Phoned ahead to Virginia Aviation to ask about availability of crew car; it was available. The Virginia Aviation people couldn't have been nicer; they handed me the car keys as I checked in -- it even had a full tank of gas! This was a seamless experience and enabled me to accomplish my mission with no hassles. Will definitely return!

This is the place to go! We have had many, many maintenance experiences here. All good. Randy Tucker works hard to be helpful and accommodating. They have excellent, dedicated aviation mechanics. Jason in Avionics is also great. Great place to have your airplane worked on.

On an IFR flight from Knoxville to Maine, our transponder failed south of Lynchburg. It was Christmas Eve, and none of the maintenance people were working. Nevertheless, the wonderful people at Virginia Aviation called an avionics technician at home, who came to the airport, installed a loaner transponder, and had us on our way in only a couple hours. A crew car and directions to nearby restaurants, as well as an open-door policy for our dog while we waited, topped off our 5-star treatment. Can't say enough good things about this place, and will be sending a Christmas card next year.

Very pleasant staff. Stayed overnight. Staff arranged a rental car. Hertz is the way to go. It was $31.00 for a Kia Rio, just less than one full day. I did have a shock when they put about $650.00 worth of holds on my account for that little charge. I called, and they explained that they had released all of their holds except for the proper change, but it took a few days before my balance was restored. The car represented an excellent value. I had asked to be topped off that morning, and when I left it had not been done. The fuel truck was already out, and close by, so it did not represent a delay. The facility is very nice, modern and clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I would return without hesitation.

Unplanned landing @ Virginia Aviation on 10/21/10 due to severe turbulence. Counter staff was very nice and set us up with hotel and restaurant recommendations. But be careful of renting an AVIS car from them. The $55 verbal quote turned into a $92.87 bill after I drove 34 miles and returned the car undamaged and full after approximately 20 hours. Still trying to get this explained from AVIS.

Stopped here on 6/12 to pick up a dog for leg 2 of a Pilots n Paws rescue flight. Was marshalled in to a parking spot on the ramp, and the fuel truck was there by the time the prop stopped turning. While the dog was being transferred to my plane, one of the ground staff ran back to the FBO to get some water for her. Service was quick, staff was friendly and helpful. They weren't able to offer any fuel discount for animal rescue flights, but the price was reasonable. Roanoke approach and LYH tower were professional and easy to work with.

Flew in for the afternoon then had to spend the night due to weather. Great service. They had a list of hotels on-hand including prices and shuttle availability.
