Flew in on a hot Friday to play a round of golf and swim in the 68F Hancock Springs Pool. A prior phone call to Mickey (airport mgr) was all that it took for him to arrange curb to curb transportation at no charge. The small airport 'operations' building was air conditioned and offered basic snacks and refreshments; all on the honor system. The BBQ near the Hancock Springs Pool was great. Stop by; you will not be disappointed.

Great fuel price, very well kept facility, but pack a lunch, since the fuel only flows at 5 gallons a minute.

Lampasas City: Give a pat on the back and thank you to who ever is keeping the airport so nice by all the mowing and trimming the fence line. Rarely do I see an airport that is so neat and clean.

My experiences at this airport have always been super positive. I was heart-broken when the last airport manager died and I was hoping the airport remained intact and well maintained by the city. It looks like they have done very well. Mickey, the current manager is a great guy. Kudos to Mickey for taking ownership of the airport along with his regular city job. I don't know how he does it.

A really nice clean facility and very competitive fuel prices. I will go out of my way to return to this great airport.

I flew into LZZ to pickup a passenger and found it just as the previous poster..... Nice clean runway and good fuel.. Which was easy to get to and a pilots lounge that was better than some at much bigger airports...

Land here on a super hot summer day, go inside of the very nice pilot's lounge and you won't want to leave. Super clean, snacks and drinks on the honor system, very fair fuel prices. Good place to take a short, quiet nap too. I first landed here with my ATP father in 1988. Each time I pass through this part of Texas, I divert to Lampasas because it is always consistent and a great place for a quick fuel stop or an overnighter in one of the several nice and inexpensive motels in town. Clean bathrooms, no FOD... A very savvy group of city leaders in Lampasas set the example for other small towns on how to operate a great rural airport.
